Our stay at comfort inn was satisfying. There is a $13 dollar in and out parking lot charge, which seemed decent compared to parking down town. It was self parking, and early on, we had to park in the basement area. Later, we had to park in the upper floors. The elevator from the parking lot was accessible from any floor that you stayed at. There was a pool area, but it closes at 9pm and opens at 10am. The pool is in the roof, floor 9, but we couldn't access it at the time we arrived. It's unfortunate, because we saw the great view by day, but missed out on pictures of downtown by night. Service staff were friendly and helpful. I was surprised at how quiet my room is, since it is right next to the elevator but I never heard the elevator once either while awake or asleep. This hotel was pretty awesome. For the price we were centrally located to everything. It is a block to the Trolley station but really we walked everywhere. Parking at $12/day is pretty cheap considering other hotels. The staff from the time we checked in to the time we left were Outstanding... they say Hello and remember us and asked how our day was. So helpful!!! The room was clean and very roomy. I asked for a Riverview and I got it!! The Memphis Bridge at night is so pretty. The added Bonus was the Pool. It was very Hot while we were there and to be able to cool off and relax was awesome. The pool could use freshening up but it served its purpose. Highly recommend this hotel read more

My expectations were not high - being in downtown Memphis and a brand I don't normally stay at. But my stay was nothing but positive. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful (whenever I encountered someone they asked if they could help me with anything). The room was exceptionally clean (I didn't find a single hair) and had everything I needed including a great desk to work, good lighting for doing makeup, and a luggage rack. The parking was easy and so nice - half the cost of hotels with valet and my car was right by the elevator. And the breakfast was a nice touch as well. Kudos! read more

We stayed here on a visit to Memphis. The hotel is very clean, updated, with everything in order. The parking is very convenient at a great price and located on the trolley line for easy access to downtown. The very best part of our stay here was the people. Everyone was so kind, professional and really great. One person - Lesley, at the front desk went way above and beyond to accommodate us and make sure we were comfortable and accommodated our special requests. She really made our stay something special. This is a very nice comfort inn for the price and location. We were pleasantly surprised at the comfortable beds, feather pillows (yay!), inexpensive parking for an enclosed lot with in and out access and included breakfast. The breakfast is the usual for a moderately priced hotel but lots of options. The hotel is around the corner from the streetcar mine which costs $1 per ride and about a mile stroll to Beale Street. There is a $100 deposit which was refunded at some point after checkout but on request the hotel emailed an updated receipt. I'd give it 5 stars except for the longish hike to the center of things but one of the most comfortable rooms in which I've slept in a long time. read more

My only problem with this place was the comforter was like...Plasticky? I dont know how to explain it. And the price was waaay high for it being a basic hotel. Just because its downtown. We checked in Wednesday around 3 pm after driving around 540 miles. Great location on the 10th floor in downtown Memphis facing the Mississippi River. You can see Arkansas on the other side of the river. We are walking distance to everything downtown. Neat clean hotel, very helpful nice desk clerks, but lousy wifi connection. Breakfast is included with underground parking for $10/day with in and out privileges. The top floors 10-12 & 14-15 are hotel rooms. NO southern hospitality here-an honest review. Came to Memphis for a football game and short vacation with husband. We reserved a king room but only one available was on first floor sidewalk on busy street, asked for a different room and got two doubles-which we asked to see as we were told had no window...WHAT?!? We appeared to be putting out the desk staff as they weren't friendly or particularly helpful. Had to ask to receive correct rate for double vs king or would have been charged the higher rate ($60 more)for the double. Looked at the room and was clean so took-and there was a window. On the first morning breakfast was almost all gone(no waffle batter, bacon etc) at 8:15-8:30 and was completely put away by 9:20 even though they said available until 9:30 (one staff at breakfast was nice). We asked and hotel almost full but they didn't increase food to reflect this??? The desk staff NOT FRIENDLY AT ALL except for one 50-60 yr old woman we met on Saturday evening who actually greeted us at the front desk. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom so tons of condensation on the window/frame, bathroom so small you have to step in room and out of the way of the door to actually close the door, sink outside of bathroom and no hand towel holder. Temperature control in the room is almost non existent, heat too hot having to use air conditioner in December. Clean but not ideal place to stay as amount charged not reasonable/staff not friendly. Check your bill! We were charged for parking and didn't have a car. Loud work being done on Saturday morning on the parking ramp at 9:15-had to call desk to determine what was going on. They did approve a late check out due to flight time. Clean updated hotel, marginal otherwise. read more

Went to Memphis on s girls trip. Didn't expect a lot based on Comfort Inns I have stayed at in the past. This hotel got good reviews so we took a chance. The staff was so kind, friendly and helpful. Pay extra for the river view, totally worth it. After a busy day in Memphis, the Civil Rights Museum, Tea at The Peabody and BBQ on Beale street we took an Uber back to hotel and enjoyed the light show on the bridge outside our window. Me and my dad stayed here two separate nights and both times we had a great view. The showers are far better than many other places we have stayed because you can actually control the temperature of them, instead of cold, cool, and blistering hot. I'm a Memphian, and live about 30 miles east now. Stayed here for one night with a friend that was up from AL to go to "Hamilton" (fab, by the way!) Hotel was just great. Convenient parking in an underground (safe) parking garage for only $12 a day with in and out privileges. Lovely room on the 14th floor with an absolutely beautiful view of "Mud Island" and the Mississippi River. We could see the pool from our room, and there were a lot of people enjoying it. Very easy access down Main St. via the trolley both before and after the show at the Orpheum (trolleys run til 12:15 a.m. - cost $1). Two block walk from the trolley station when we returned at 11 p.m. Downtown is well lit up even at that time of night. Near Court Square, which is lovely. Room was very nice, VERY clean. Bed and pillows were the most comfortable I've had in a hotel in a long time. Nice towels. Huge TV. Wifi worked. Apparently, they've updated this hotel and it shows. Great free breakfast in the morning with just about everything you could want. Of course, it's a chain hotel breakfast (fake omelets) but there were added touches like bacon AND sausage, biscuits and gravy, bagels, cream cheese, pastries, oatmeal, grits, etc. Smoke free hotel, but nice little area designated for smokers outside. I checked the rates, and I think it was one of the more affordable hotels in downtown Memphis. Only teeny tiny complaint I have is that the night shift desk clerks were not friendly at all. As in, totally ignored you coming in and out. There was a friendly security guard posted in the lobby after dark - made me feel safe. The day shift woman was wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to come visit Memphis! read more

BEWARE!! We stopped in Memphis, TN to stay over night at mid point coming from Texas on our way home to NY and it was about 2:15 in the morning after driving since 10:00a.m. in the morning day before so we were exhausted to say the least. We actually were going to stay at the Sheraton initially, but there were stragglers hanging around and there was no parking garage so we changed our minds and googled a hotel WITH a parking garage so went with Comfort Inn and the man at the front desk said it was BETTER to just park right in front of the entrance door because they have the cameras as he pointed to his computer screen and said they patrol the area. Ironic enough the manager couldn't find anyone smashing out our window when that man said the camera points to that area he said to park at. At any rate people are breaking out windows apparently they didn't find what they were looking for because there was an almost brand new pair of Timberland boots, some left over food we accidentally left from the restaurant from earlier, brand new book bags.... Officer says there's been a lot of breaks ins going on. Very frustrating ...two hours to speak with the officer and then run down and call every single auto glass company on a Saturday to see which one can replace the broken windows that same day because it was that day or Monday and we were heading out that evening +$250 out of pocket expense and another couple hours to go get the window fixed. Was only there from 2:15am -12noon check out When we bore noticed our window broken out. This site wont allow photos but I been putting reviews on trip advisor and other sites which allows photos so check this for the photos. I was parked right at the front entrance where there was windows all over so someone had to see and/hear that worked there. read more

The breakfast was better than most hotels and there was cheap parking in the garage below. Bonus- 2-minute walk to waterfront parks along the river. I have traveled to Memphis a lot for work and pleasure. The Comfort Inn may not be the Peabody Hotel but for a hotel at this price point and location this one is hard to beat. The staff has always been above and beyond. The rooms have always always always been comfortable and welcoming. They have actually upgraded me to business suites several times without me even asking! Also this is the hotel where I was given a sample package of Wilkinson Sword shaving cream which I love and now order from the UK. There are some fantastic restaurants between here and Beale Street and an easy walk or taxi ride if you want to go directly into the drunk tank. read more

We booked a two night stay with two beds and a rollaway bed. The room was decent size, clean, and the staff were friendly. As others mentioned, the breakfast was decent and different on both mornings we went down for it. It was more than just coffee and danishes. Parking was $8/night - I saw free parking advertised some place and it's added onto your total bill when you check out. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others. read more

This is a hard one to write a review for as I had mixed feelings. But I think after everything, I would probably recommend it with a couple of caveats. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful which is always a good start. The included breakfast was basic but still good. It should be noted that the first 10 levels or so of the hotel is actually public parking but it didn't seem to have an impact. The hotel charges $10 for self parking which was reasonable and very handy. The location isn't bad either and you can walk or catch the trolley service easily to Beale St. We had a double room with partial views of the Mississippi which was good. I should mention that the walls seemed very thin and it was easy to hear a TV in the next room which is pretty rubbish if you want to get to sleep. The room was extremely spacious though which was great for our 3 night stay in Memphis however the bathroom was very small. And to top that off the toilet was small. Weird right? I'm not just talking small, small... I'm talking SMALL, SMALL!!! Like an 8 inch bowl small. Put it this way... unless you were a bombardier in the war... you gonna have trouble dropping it in easily. ;) At the end of the day though... it's worth staying at and I would stay there again. read more

The location of this hotel is ideal and we had a very good price (granted, it's the middle of January). Our room had a view of the Mississippi and the pyramid. It was clean and large.The bathroom was maybe slightly small and because it didn't have a fan, it ended up as a sauna. The choice for breakfast was extensive (eggs, bacon, biscuits & gravy, danishes, waffles, muffins) but the quality was barely average. This hotel was amazing! My work frequently sends me to the Memphis area, I've tried several other downtown hotels (double tree, holiday inn, etc.) This one is definitely the best! I had a beautiful view of the Mississippi River. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The parking is also very convent, many of the hotels require valet at $20/day plus tips. The Comfort Inn only charges $10 for parking and you can access your vehicle all day long - very convenient! read more

Overall pretty darn good. The room is clean, spacious, and laid out nice. The service downstairs is friendly and fast. They can call a taxi for you real quick. The breakfast is actually pretty good. They have waffles, cereal, eggs; ham, toast, yogurt and other things. My only complaint is the elevator is a little slow and the parking is a little much but from what I hear we are still paying "ok" prices compared to other parking prices Id stay here again. read more

Check in was at 3pm we arrived after 7.5 hour drive around 420pm and rooms were still not clean. We confirmed reservation the day before so would have thought it would have been together but it wasn't. We checked into 2 unclean rooms and ended up not getting a clean room until 5:15pm. Parking garage is under construction so staff has to let cars in manually but staff is not always at the desk so myself and other vehicles had to wait over 30 minutes until we decided to go down the "Exit" ramp honking our horn just to park. This Comfort Inn definitely is on the top end for Choice Hotel brand standards. Very large room. Happy with the service and the location walking distance to Beale Street. I would give 5 stars if parking was free (cost an extra $10 - not bad but still an extra cost).
