River view

This hotel was pretty awesome. For the price we were centrally located to everything. It is a block to the Trolley station but really we walked everywhere. Parking at $12/day is pretty cheap considering other hotels. The staff from the time we checked in to the time we left were Outstanding... they say Hello and remember us and asked how our day was. So helpful!!! The room was clean and very roomy. I asked for a Riverview and I got it!! The Memphis Bridge at night is so pretty. The added Bonus was the Pool. It was very Hot while we were there and to be able to cool off and relax was awesome. The pool could use freshening up but it served its purpose. Highly recommend this hotel

The staff was nice. Checking in and out was no problem at all. No one was ever rude. Parking is in the deck below which has no cell service. My only problem with this place was the comforter was like...Plasticky? I dont know how to explain it. And the price was waaay high for it being a basic hotel. Just because its downtown. I still drove to everywhere I wanted to go. Breakfast was good though.

We checked in Wednesday around 3 pm after driving around 540 miles. Great location on the 10th floor in downtown Memphis facing the Mississippi River. You can see Arkansas on the other side of the river. We are walking distance to everything downtown. Neat clean hotel, very helpful nice desk clerks, but lousy wifi connection. Breakfast is included with underground parking for $10/day with in and out privileges. The top floors 10-12 & 14-15 are hotel rooms. I just found out they don't use the 13th floor (superstitious)

Went to Memphis on s girls trip. Didn't expect a lot based on Comfort Inns I have stayed at in the past. This hotel got good reviews so we took a chance. The staff was so kind, friendly and helpful. Pay extra for the river view, totally worth it. After a busy day in Memphis, the Civil Rights Museum, Tea at The Peabody and BBQ on Beale street we took an Uber back to hotel and enjoyed the light show on the bridge outside our window. Good breakfast included and cheap parking. Highly recommend!

View from our room - 14th floor - beautiful!

I'm a Memphian, and live about 30 miles east now. Stayed here for one night with a friend that was up from AL to go to "Hamilton" (fab, by the way!) Hotel was just great. Convenient parking in an underground (safe) parking garage for only $12 a day with in and out privileges. Lovely room on the 14th floor with an absolutely beautiful view of "Mud Island" and the Mississippi River. We could see the pool from our room, and there were a lot of people enjoying it. Very easy access down Main St. via the trolley both before and after the show at the Orpheum (trolleys run til 12:15 a.m. - cost $1). Two block walk from the trolley station when we returned at 11 p.m. Downtown is well lit up even at that time of night. Near Court Square, which is lovely. Room was very nice, VERY clean. Bed and pillows were the most comfortable I've had in a hotel in a long time. Nice towels. Huge TV. Wifi worked. Apparently, they've updated this hotel and it shows. Great free breakfast in the morning with just about everything you could want. Of course, it's a chain hotel breakfast (fake omelets) but there were added touches like bacon AND sausage, biscuits and gravy, bagels, cream cheese, pastries, oatmeal, grits, etc. Smoke free hotel, but nice little area designated for smokers outside. I checked the rates, and I think it was one of the more affordable hotels in downtown Memphis. Only teeny tiny complaint I have is that the night shift desk clerks were not friendly at all. As in, totally ignored you coming in and out. There was a friendly security guard posted in the lobby after dark - made me feel safe. The day shift woman was wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to come visit Memphis!

The parking was great and the staff was friendly; however we found bed bugs in our bed. Not likely to stay again.

If you want more space I recommend going for 2 queen bed room as the King rooms while lovely can be tight. It is a little further from Beale street than most downtown hotels which is a plus for me. The South main area has many cute shops and dining options still in walking distance to enjoy plus a grocery store around the corner if needed.

Able to walk to Sun Studio 0.8 mile away, Charlie Vergoss Rendezvous (but there's better food to be had than there), Peabody Hotel is a block away. One downside: Lyft drivers seemed confused about where to drop off or pick up, usually stopping on the other side of Peabody Place. The back courtyard entrance of the hotel, near the parking garage, is somewhat hidden even when I gave the Lyft drivers directions. Clean - including the top of the shower curtain railing, I checked. Housekeeping - didn't need cleaning or bedding changing, just a change of towels. The young housekeeping black man(forgot his name) was very personable and accommodating. Breakfast buffet - the two women worked hard, constantly keeping the area clean and tidy, having food out, and taking our plates away when done. Standard fare - eggs (omelet or scrambled), sausage links or patties, potatoes, do it yourself waffles, oatmeal, breads, yogurt, coffee & tea & juice. Fruit was not ripe. Room- the *best shower water pressure* I've ever felt! A night light was in the bathroom, a considerate feature when the room lights are off. Above the center night stand, the electrical outlet on the left needed occasional jiggling to maintain a connection, I forgot to tell the front desk about this. Mattress and pillows were comfortable. A/C worked well. One con: inquired about late checkout as a Hilton Honors member and was told it was not possible. That's the first time I was ever told that.

It benefits from a great location being within steps of Beale Street, and both Grizzlies and Redbirds games! It's also quiet on the upper floors, and the breakfast is spectacular as always. Parking will set you back $26 every 24 hours and an additional hourly charge for staying past 1:00 p.m. the following day. So yeah, you pay for the location. It's not a great bargain for the price. But it's good enough if you want to stay in the heart of Memphis. The music from Beale Street is loud throughout the night, but the hotel is kind enough to provide earplugs in your room. That leaky toilet will keep you up all night, though! And the outlets are so stripped, you'll get an unpleasant surprise in the morning when you realize your devices haven't recharged!! That was the worst aspect of this hotel!!

The design is clean and considered warm tones, thoughtful finishes, the kind of contemporary aesthetic that feels curated rather than assembled. You don't walk into a lobby that's trying to impress you; you walk into one that welcomes you. There's a difference, and it matters. The rooms carry that same sensibility. Comfortable in the truest sense not merely adequate, but genuinely restful. The kind of bed you sink into and feel the day release from your shoulders. The kind of space that says you're taken A genuine hospitality that feels rooted in the city itself rather than scripted by a brand manual. Memphis has always been generous that way, and the Canopy reflects it. And then there's the catfish. I don't say this lightly: the catfish here is worth the trip on its own terms. Crisp where it should be crisp, tender where it should yield -- it carries that deep Southern confidence that reminds you food can be both humble and extraordinary at the same time. It's the kind of dish that makes you set down your fork for a moment, not because you're finished, but because you want to be present for it. For travelers who want Memphis without the chaos, who want proximity to the legend of Beale Street but a retreat that breathes, the Canopy is a quiet, well-kept secret. Boutique in the best sense. I'm a Hilton diamond member, and anticipated an upgrade, which was not available, even though the hotel was not sold out. The restaurant and bar have an 18% auto gratuity that was not disclosed until I received my check. Have they not added the gratuity to it, I would've tipped my standard 20%. Probably the biggest issue I had was the lack of hot water. When I contacted the front desk, the agent informed me that I would need to run the shower for an average of 15 to 20 minutes for the hot water to start, which is ridiculous that they do not have a larger enough boiler to accommodate the entire hotel property. I asked to speak to the manager on duty and she told me that they were not available and that if I have further concerns, I need to take it up with the hotel general manager in the morning. No compensation was offered, and she said there's no point in moving rooms because the hot water situation will be the same regardless of the room chosen. While this property was in policy within my corporate travel guidelines, I will not be staying here again.
