I've never stayed at a Comfort Inn, but I was driving from Michigan to Maine in August and it was available and right on route 4. The driveway was a little hard to find though, I had to drive around a few other buildings to find a way in. The woman at the front desk was polite and pleasant, and the room was clean, with a fresh, well made, and comfortable bed. When I called the front desk for help getting on the internet, the same woman who checked me in was helpful and patient. But...(and there are a lot of buts..) The hotel is pretty dingy. If my room had been $87/ night, I wouldn't mind, but I spent $207 on the room for one night. The hotel was pretty hot and musty. The air felt stagnant - though the common areas and rooms were clean. I turned the a/c in my room all the way down, but the room never felt cool. The walls and carpets were very dated and had a tired look that won out against the more updated couches in common areas. The internet was awful, it took me 30 minutes, one phone call, and a trip down to the front desk to get online, and then the next morning, it had kicked me off again. The bathroom was tight, but workable, the water took a long time to warm up, but stayed hot once it'd heated up. The bath towels were horrible though - a cotton-poly blend that was not absorbent at all. Overall, I would stay here again if I had to, but next time I'm passing though Rutland, I'll try one of the little, touristy, motor-court inns or a Hampton. read more

I was trying to schedule this stay for a friend who had to have some infected molars extracted while on a road trip. She travels everywhere with her 3 dogs. Really would do 3.5 stars but benefit of doubt. Nice Lobby with pleasant staff. Has a decent pool and hot Tub. The room was average for the most part. It could use an additional plug upgrade or two. Cons: Internet SUCKS!! Be warned. The mattress was old/kinda flat but the pillows were decent enough for an "average" sleep. The key locks need an upgrade and once again didn't like me :/ The breakfast was...okay. They did offer pancakes and potatoes but they were cold/hard. Bathroom shower was nicely renovated but you could tell it's bigger than the previous one (odd ledge). As I said it was a mixture of old and new. So at least they *try* to keep it somewhat clean and updated. read more

Traveler beware! Renovations under way when I pulled in. Okay.....but the small sign on the front desk telling me about renovations gave me no prior notice as I booked online from 4,000 miles away. Renovations happen during the summer in New England. I knew I would be out all day, so chanced it. I came to regret that decision! 1) parking was impacted. Twice there were workman set up right beside my rental car. Worrisome close! 2) entry into driveway and the Inn itself was impacted. GPS, which I needed, not having been in the area for many years directed me to a blocked entry twice. When returning one day it appeared that entire front entrance- a door that had been locked in the morning when I left and the other front entrance were cordoned off for construction. I was later told that the locked door was open, though how I was supposed to know that I am not sure. I went in a propped open side door through construction debris including siding with nails sticking up. 3) the one star review is for the unprofessional way my email complaint was handled. While one of the managers did respond to my email, she very unprofessionally included the string of communication between herself and the GM which were downright inappropriate and insulting to me,the guest. I did eventually speak with a manger, by getting up extremely early, since she was on the 11-7 shift. Her solution was that I should have asked the clerk to help me find other accommodations when I arrived Friday evening before checking in. I was given bonus points as an apology for the inconvenience. I haven't stayed at a Comfort Inn in years and probably won't in another 10 years. Hope the points don't expire! read more

This spot is a great location to stay if you are doing a show or business across the road at the Fair Grounds they offer a discount. They are also in the same parking lot as a great steakhouse so if you plan things right you can essentially walk from this location to the Fair Grounds and to dinner. I recall the shower, bathroom and beds being really nice to sleep on. I would gladly stay here again just for the amazing rate that we got through, i think it was $89 per night plus tax if you were a vendor at the Fair Grounds, it is hard to get a better deal than that. The front desk was very nice and although there isn't much more to say i think all those things made it worth while and we will plan on staying again many times to come. read more

The bed was good, the bathroom appeared to have had a makeover recently, so that was good. The room was very damp, even with the AC running, and there was a musty smell. This was a "you get what you pay for", as the price was very low. We had breakfast, and it was your typical free breakfast - not terrible. read more

This place is a joke! waste of money. the bed was broken on one side, therefore it was lopsided to sleep in. they told me they would give me a AAA discount and that didn't happen. they have choices of non smoking and smoking rooms, but apparently the entire property is non smoking. then the owner charged us extra money without me even knowing and when I called about it, while the manager was nice, the owner wouldn't budge on repaying me. good luck. Booked 2 rooms months in advance for a ski trip only to get a million calls and voicemails from Lori who works at the hotel stating they're charging my card the day before check in and threatening to fine the card on file if there's no response. Called back and spoke to Lori on the phone to state the rooms were booked through Hotels.com and that the "Pay at property" option was selected and that NO charges were to be made to my card. She RUDELY raises her voice and states that because of the hotel being full they have the right to authorize my card and charge it. I told her I've never once experienced this with the Hotels.com app before that I use very frequently and have always paid at property and the card on file is only used to just simply hold the reservation. Mind you I had already confirmed both rooms. She continues on getting nastier with comments about how the hotel is booking up and charges need to be made. I told her she needed to better her customer service because it is absolutely terrible initiating an argument with a customer who reserved TWO rooms when I myself never once got negative with her. She then decided to tell me I needed to lose my attitude. That's when I decided to cancel both rooms and will never give this place my business and make sure others I know don't either. Never once have had an issue at a hotel booked through Hotels.com before like this special place. 0/10 recommend. Recommend checking out Hampton Inn hotels in White River Junction who's customer service is MUCH better and actually knows how Hotels.con works. read more

Great place near Killington. We spent a night here to go snowboarding at the mountain which is 25 minutes away. It surpassed our expectations! Everything was clean and very lovely. The hotel got recently redone and it seems like they took care of every detail to make people feel comfortable. The staff is also super friendly. Perspective, people. I booked late for weekend skiing and I've stayed in some terrible places near Killington. The Comfort Inn is clean, has a reasonable breakfast included with an attentive attendant plus a helper. It does not merit 5 stars - but it is a solid 4, with a clean pool and hot tub area, a great steakhouse a few hundred feet away, and 24 hour front desk with self service coffee and tea. Room doors open to a hallway (hotel,not motel!). Good parking. Excellent choice for the area. read more

2 Star Hotel and that about summarizes it. On the cheaper side and with reason, you get what you pay for. The bed is a double at best, though they claim it to be a queen, felt like sleeping on a solid board made out of rock is the only way to describe it. (VERY unpleasantly UNCOMFORTABLE), the blanket is a super thin very old (never washed) scary fleece and despite having the heat turned all the way on I woke up several times due to being uncomfortable and cold. They put new TVs in the rooms and added the microwave/mini-fridge combo as well as easy free wifi service so I'll give them the points for effort there, though the bathroom, carpets, and furniture all are a bit gross (stains, rips, looks) and need to be changed out as well (as soon as possible). Overall this is an outdated cheap older hotel. I would not book here again and would not recommend it for reference. As a complete "uuhhhmmmm" moment, I went to the lobby for breakfast at 9:10am, got back to my room less then 10 minutes later and all of the sheets were removed leaving the mattress naked - and the blanket, cover, and pillows were thrown over the chair... I searched for the maid service for 10 minutes no luck, finished writing this review, took a shower watched an episode of espn and still no one ever came back to replace the sheets they took or make the bed! read more

Rooms are good overall. The bathroom was tiny with not enough space to even move around. Although we didn't interact with the staff much, the front desk seemed to below and not welcoming or energetic, and the house keeping crew was very loud. The building is bit old from outside but our room seemed refurbished and was very clean which was positive. Good for a night or two economical stay but don't expect any kind of service. Breakfast service is same through out the country in all Comfort Inns. I have encountered far better service in smaller motels. read more

We scored a deal on priceline for this place. We were pleasantly surprised at how clean the room and bathroom was and how good the breakfast was considering the reviews. We stopped here on our way from PA to NH. We were looking for an inexpensive stay somewhere that didn't have bugs on the sheets. This place was a pleasant surprise! Very nice rooms, beautiful indoor pool, and friendly staff. Well, the front desk was "soso" but she seemed very busy, so we'll let it slide. This is a solid hotel with nice people working here (give them raises). I generally avoid Comfort Inns and shoot for Holiday Inns, Hampton Inns and the like...but some Comfort Inns are nicer. This one has small bathrooms-kind of a weird layout but otherwise is very nice. I really liked the room. The bathroom is small. I missed breakfast-but it's probably just OK/Alright. We were a bit loud here and did get a call-but they were chill. I would stay here again...but do know at time of this review there is no uber/Lyft and cab service is almost non-existent. I went for a concert at the Paramount (great venue btw) and I was lucky to get one of the only cabs running. Plan accordingly. I would think Rutland/Killington deserves Lyft or Uber or both and I bet there are people that could use the work in VT! Just a heads up! read more

I typically am ok with this hotel, however this time is much different. I come in to ripped up carpet, cob webs, spills on walls, spills on night stand, spills down the side of bed, smears of something on the bathroom floor, and a microwave that isn't working correctly. I'm not sure I will be staying here again. I attached some pictures but I am not sure they show the full effect that I am seeing in person. We did speak with front desk and they sent down my husband cleaning supplies to clean the room! Angered we went back to the front desk and they ended up giving us another room. read more

Don't expect much and you will be delighted. This hotel has everything including a train which goes by so often, you won't even notice it. Worried about losing your card key? No problem! It will likely only work for a few hours after it's made so go ahead and throw caution to the wind. I hope you like your eggs well-microwaved. What an outstanding new experience! I stayed here in Sept 2018, 1 night. There was a convention in town and rooms were hard to find. I set reservation via Choice Privileges app and verified my account set up to get airline miles as reward. Check in clerk said this would be automatic. BUT NO AIRLINE MILES 3 MONTHS LATER. Call to CP customer service & told get points, not miles. They had unilaterally changed that and refuse to give me miles. CHOICE PRIVILEGES IS EITHER INCOMPETENT OR DISHONEST. The front desk staff (namely Micheal) was so accommodating and the manager (who I didn't get to meet or learn the name of) was equally gracious. We booked through Hotels.com and were informed at purchase that it was a non cancellation, no refund, deal. So when our flight was delayed nearly 6 hours, putting our potential arrival at the hotel at 3am, I was worried we were out the ninety or so dollars that the night's stay cost, in addition to the cost of finding new accommodations closer to the airport (3 hours away from Rutland). Michael was so understanding and helpful when I called and after a few calls back and forth between Hotels.com and the hotel, I was informed that the manager approved the cancellation and would issue a refund for the night. When we arrived at the hotel the next day, we were also informed that our room had been upgraded for free for the one night that we were there. We were thrilled. What could have been a very stressful situation and a negative start to our trip turned out to be a great experience thanks to the kindness and understanding of the staff here. In addition to all that, every employee we encountered, from the desk to housekeeping to the breakfast staff, were friendly, helpful, and engaged with the guests. The room was perfect, clean and stocked and the pool was in great shape and a ton of fun for us and our toddler. Overall, a wonderful experience. read more

This is a good, dependable hotel with a good staff. They serve one of the better hotel breakfasts in this chain. They have local people in the breakfast room who know the town very well, and can give you advice if you are a traveler. It is not the newest hotel, and they have a few maintenance issues, which I think they will address. Although the restaurant next door is gone, this is still an inviting place to stay. Small fridge and microwave, so you can go to Hannafords and save the expense of a meal out. They call it the friendliest hotel in Rutland, and having gone to quite a few others, I agree. They must have taken those first reviews seriously as nothing smelled weird and they didn't run out of hot water. The folks at the front desk could not have been nicer and even made some good recommendations for eating out on a Sunday evening (most of the non fast food restaurants are closed on Sunday around Rutland in the off season). There have been a couple "eye brow raising" things to keep an eye on: the microwave in the room doesn't work, we found unopened bottles of beer and seltzer water left over from a prior guest or guests, and we had to request towels (it was our second night and housekeeping hadn't gotten around to putting in the new ones yet apparently). One the housekeeping/maintence crew very kindly brought them up promptly. The hot tub was nice but they don't heat their indoor pool in the summer making it too cold to use. They also host some wacky fundamentalist church in their function room Sunday mornings. So it goes. Overall I'd come back. They don't have a weight limit on dogs and have a reasonable surcharge for bringing a pet. There's also a 10% discount on the breakfast/brunch buffet at the South Station restaurant which is on the premises. read more

This hotel is very old and runs out of hot water when it's crowded. Some of our clean towels in the bathroom were covered with brown or red stains. Breakfast is just ok. Some of their staff are friendly, some are just rude. Hot tube is very small and fills up fast. A lot of rooms smell like wet shoes. read more

We stayed here one night while attending a wedding. A very nice room, very clean, fluffy towels, and good wifi. The a/c worked great with a continuous fan. The staff was friendly and allowed us to check in early so we could change for the wedding. We forgot some hang up clothes in the wardrobe and the desk clerk called us right away, allowing us to make arrangements to pick them up. Has a great indoor pool and the breakfast was surprisingly good. All in all a great stay for a reasonable price. read more

The Inn is OK, but a bit over priced for the area. The front desk staff is rude. I turned the key in when checking out and the guy threw it on the desk, turned around without saying a word and disappeared never to come back. My non smoking room smelled of smoke because the housekeeping staff smoke. Pillows, sheets, towels, everything they touched smelled like smoke. Don't take a room near the rear stairs as the staff smoke there and it comes up the stairwell into rooms even on the third floor. The room was OK. Nice heated indoor pool and hot tub. Close to downtown Rutland. The morning breakfast was OK. read more

This is a great place. The staff is friendly, the rooms clean, and it has the quietest air conditioner of any hotel I have ever been in, including a Hilton. Usually the banging of the air or heat is so annoying that I have trouble sleeping. This unit was so quiet that I had to check it to make sure it was on a couple of times. It also kept the room very cool, despite temperatures in the mid to upper 80s outside. Yes, the hotel is older but is well maintained and is kept very clean. They also provide a free breakfast which even includes eggs and sausage, for sandwiches, and waffles. The location is ideal because you are central to many chain restaurants, McDonald's, Dennys, Ponderosa and even other more local places. We were right near the rear stairs and there was no smell of smoke there or anywhere in the hotel. We were there for four nights and had a very enjoyable stay. read more
