I would have given at least 4 stars except that there was a power outage. Now I know they have no control over things like this but management admitted they were notified the day before that there could be an outage. However, they neglected to notify their guests. We might have tried to wait it out, but for medical reasons husband needs electricity for his CPAP. So the lack of the 4th star is due to negligence. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Family trip to Yosemite. Rooms in Oakhurst are hard to come by during the summer season and extremely overpriced for what you get so expect to give up your right arm for an overnight stay anywhere in the area. For this mediocre room we paid over $200 per night! AND...AND.. we were probably one of five families in the entire hotel. Ayeee Vey Hotel is very dated and could seriously use a renovation from the lobby, to the rooms and pool. Granted if your visiting the area chances are your not spending much time in the room but holy cannoli ... Breakfast is not breakfast. It was to -go snacks. The Lobby is a throw back to the 1980's. Rooms need a complete overhaul. Carpet was old, tv was super old and small. WiFi was terrible. Old school heater/air conditioner unit. The room did include a Small fridge, microwave and coffee machine..that was cool. Overall design and furniture was very dated. Stayed two nights and there no cleaning service..not even fresh towels. Jacuzzi was Luke warm and pool was however the kids still enjoyed it. I'm we are not a fancy schmancy family but by no means was this worth the dinero. read more

Where are we going to stay on a holiday weekend when everything else was booked? We didn't have much of a choice but I'm happy we booked here. First of all, if you are part of their rewards program, you can book rooms on the app and they won't charge you until the end of your stay. I was able to book 4 rooms and each family paid on their own which was really great...no need to worry about who owes who and how much. Each hotel has their own rules on payment and I really hate the ones where they charge for the entire stay when you book. As for the room itself, we booked a regular King room but ended up in a King handicap room instead. It was fine and fairly large. The shower was kind of awkward as water leaks out. I understand it's designed that way but our bathmat was all soaked. The bed was comfy. The room had a fridge, microwave and a coffee maker. There is no safe and the room key looked like a portable USB drive. I love the normal credit card type keys or electronic keys so you don't have to actually check out at the front desk. Maybe they will update this part someday. The free breakfast was surprisingly good! It's even better than Hampton Inn's breakfast! I'm not sure if it's the same stuff daily but there were sausage, scrambled and hard boiled eggs, two waffle makers, all kinds of bread, 3 or 4 types of juice (OJ was good by the way), fresh fruit, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt and cereal. I wish they would make the breakfast area larger, it got a bit crowded. The are plenty of parking spots and it's FREE! When they say they are 20 minutes from Yosemite, they mean, they are 20 minutes from the entrance to Yosemite. If you've never been to Yosemite, it will take about an hour to get to Yosemite Valley from the hotel. It's not a bad drive though!! The staff was friendly! If you are planning a vacation to Yosemite, this is the place to stay! This hotel is in Oakhurst, 30 minutes away from Yosemite's entrance. My best friend booked 1 night, 2 beds here for $86 on Hotels.com, a steal in comparison to the hotels inside of Yosemite National Park. In addition, it is not as far as the other hotels we looked at that were a similar price (some were 1-2 hours away from Yosemite!) The hotel staff was friendly & helpful! We received our breakfast tickets, wifi code, & there was plenty of parking available. Our room was clean & it came with a desk, TV, refrigerator, & microwave. Our beds were huge & incredibly comfy, the comforter kept me warm all night, & it comes with 4 pillows: 2 soft & 2 firm for whichever you prefer (I thought that was so neat because pillows can make or break a person's stay & the firm pillows definitely made my stay!) The breakfast was great, especially for a free breakfast because they had hot foods available too (usually places just give you cereal & pastries)! There were scrambled eggs, sausages, 2 waffles makers, several types of cereal, bread, drinks - juices, coffee, water, tea, hot cocoa. Booked a room on Priceline. Says pet friendly. Arrive at this hotel and find they charge an additional 38.00 per night per pet. Nothing was disclosed on Priceline which this hotel provides them the info. I'm super upset I drove five hours to arrive to a run down hotel that didn't disclose there are extra pet fees. I could've stayed in a way nicer hotel if they had disclosed this. Rooms are very cheaply put together and the front desk person had horrible customer service. I will NOT stay here again. read more

What ever you do don't get the room number 155 or 156 they are right outside the breakfast area and the walls are thin,so no sleeping in and you hear everything outside while everyone is having breakfast. BED BUGS! Never have I ever experienced bed bugs whether it be hotel, motel, or inn. Stayed here 2 nights. First night stayed in room 131 had 2 queen beds, the one by the bathroom had bed bugs in it. Which I caught and killed 3. I slept on top of the comforter and I slept like crap, I was still getting bitten. Should've just went and got another room right away. Next morning I requested another room and they moved me to a suite. My friend had a strange bug in his bed that was not a bed bug but nonetheless a bug was in his sheets. read more

My wife and I are currently at the Comfort Inn Yosemite and it's been a truly terrible experience with their staff. We are in town for a family wedding and due to logistics and usual chaos of wedding shuffling unexpectedly needed to find a hotel. I booked us here and showed up an hour later to check in. When we entered the room, it had a soured and rancid smell that caused an allergy attack for my wife. We called the front desk immediately and I asked them if I can cancel our reservation. They offer trying a different room, but I explain my wife is having an allergy attack and I would like to just try a different hotel. They say they "can't refund my stay." They'll charge me for 1 of my 2 nights if I cancel. I beg them to reconsider and just let me leave. "We can't do that, it's policy." I ask to talk to the manager. "She just left." I ask if they can call her to give permission for my refund. "We'll try." I've only been in the room for 5 minutes at this point. I wait another 5 and they don't call me back. I go to the reception and ask again if they can cancel my stay. "We can't it's policy." Did they reach the manager? They don't respond (I don't believe they called). She points to a young man at the front desk and tells me he is the manager's son. I explain our situation and ask if they can just give me a refund. He smugly tells me "Because you entered the room we have to charge you for the night" citing their cleaning policy. I told him we barely entered the room and touched nothing - he doesn't care. He tells me I can go try other rooms to see if they don't smell, and I tell him that doesn't make sense with the policy he stated and ask him if they'll have to charge me to go into those other rooms as well. He doesn't respond. So yes, because I don't have the money to double down on a new hotel, I'm forced to risk my wife in another of their rooms or face their cancelation fees, for a reservation made less than 1 hour ago and a room I spent 5 minutes in. My wife is, thankfully, doing OK in the new room, but how dare you make me risk her health and roll the dice on another allergy attack. You are an unethical team to force that upon us. To the manager, Belinda Pressiado, and her son, this is the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and it's clear the safety and health of your guests does not matter to you in the slightest. Also, I've fixed the Choice Hotel's motto for you: "Because at Choice Hotels, our business is (abusing) you." We're here to enjoy a wedding, and instead I'm incredibly distracted and unpeaceful from the ill treatment by your staff. They are always just 1 person working at a time and somehow that never includes a manager ever able to help you with anything. I have a suggestion for the owners of this location besides that everything overall is in need of an update. Stayed for the weekend / far from Yosemite. My boyfriend and I stayed at this place because of it being pet-friendly. We went to Yosemite for the weekend, and let me tell you, it is an hour drive to the valley (about 30 minutes to the entrance). Plan your trip to Yosemite well if you're thinking about staying in Oakhurst. Favorite part about the room was our king size bed -- it was cozy. The heater worked really well. They've got a hairdryer, flat screen tv, free wifi, and free breakfast between 7am to 10am. I am pretty sure I only found 1 - 3 channels working for tv, as the many other channels said you had to subscribe, and the front desk button on the phone didn't work. Noise level: pretty quiet when we went, but we could hear the fans going on/off from neighbors. If you're looking for a place to stay over the weekend, stay here if you're on a budget. It's a good place with friendly staff and overall clean. We stayed in room 244, upper level. Lots of parking space. read more

Stayed here for one night on 4/9/2015. Booked this hotel so we could break up our drive to Yosemite Valley. We were coming from Carlsbad, CA and needed a break. Got in around 12:45 am. The man at the counter was nice. Checked in, then he told us to drive around to the back to park. Since we got in late we had to park far. Only stayed for less than 5 hours because we needed to hit the road early to get a campsite. Rooms were nice and comfy. We'd been driving for hours and the place we'd originally made reservations with screwed up our res and instead of just giving us another room, they refunded our money and left us hours from home with no place to stay. We made a few phone calls and found out that Comfort in Oakhurst was pet friendly AND they had rooms available. They were SO incredibly nice and even offered to lend us a water bowl for the doggo! The Hotel is okay and kept fairly clean. The WiFi is so slow it not useable both in the room and with the Hotel lobby computer. Speed is under 1MPS so unless you are sending a short email its useless. I've stayed here a couple of times. This is a nice place for this category of lodging and very convenient to the Wawona access to YNP. They have a pool and the continental breakfast is decent. Coffee is not artisan but I am not here for the coffee. There were lots of French and Italians here this time. They seemed to enjoy the breakfast. The beds are decent although if you like harder mattresses you won't like these. The help is very good, housekeeping friendly. They are pet friendly and we brought our dog with us- perfect!! The rooms are spacious, clean, and they serve breakfast. The breakfast room was clean and had the following choices: Hard boiled eggs, cereals, yogurt, sausage, scrambled eggs, fruit danish, toast, english muffins, muffins, various juices, milk, fresh fruit and more!! Let's just say that you don't have to leave this place on an empty stomach. We stayed in room 241. The negative on this place is that the pool and jacuzzi was DIRTY. It is probably not a good time of a year to get in an outdoor pool, but wish it was covered or taken care of. Wish they had an indoor pool like the Best Western accross the way. read more

When I confronted the young lady attendant at the front desk about it, she was unfriendly and short with me. She acted as if she shouldn't be bother with helping me. She simply stated that the internet was working fine for her and gave me a dismissive look, as if that was that. Rude. Staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Rooms were clean. Fridge, Micro, AC (mandatory in California), and TV all worked flawlessly. Ice machine down the hall worked great, too! Mega teamwork going on, as their crew was so slammed/understaffed that the maintenance guy was helping out with laundry! The hot tub was merely tepid, but still very relaxing and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thanks to COVID (not the hotel's fault) we were unable to enjoy their usual breakfast offering, our only option was a to-go bag with a delicious blueberry muffin and some type of snackbar that possibly had peanuts in it. Suggestion for those in charge of the menu, peanut is a VERY common allergy (in my case potentially fatal, and my gf is also allergic) so maybe instead of just packing up a bunch of bags do some sort of snack bar buffet and let people pick and choose. I can handle the poor service, lady at the front desk practically asleep and the boy next to her obviously untrained. ... but... Stayed there specifically to park the RV and take a break from the road and even though they told us where to park they "forgot" we paid to stay there and threatened to tow our vehicle. The last straw... charging us $250 for smoking in a room we did not smoke in... rather we smoked outside and rather than litter, put our butts in the trash. My coworker and I were crashing there before having to guide a backpacking trip in Yosemite. About an hour after going to sleep I woke up itching and found bedbugs crawling on my bed, (not a comfortable bed to begin with, I may add;) I had 5 bites including one on the side of my face. I took videos and pictures of the bugs; I even killed two of them and brought them to the office to show them, I was assured by Tandy the night desk person, and then the manager Chris that I would receive a refund, and yet five days later coming out of Yosemite and getting cell service again I still don't have a refund and am having to track them down and email and call and request a refund. Nice and clean, quiet hotel near Yosemite. They welcome you with fresh baked cookies. Very attentive evening check in person with great personality. Very comfortable beds in a good size room even though this one is not a two room suite. I would stay here again if in the area. Not too far from Yosemite. There are plenty of restaurants and shops in the area in case the need arises. Nice pool area if or when it warms up. Too cold for us in March. Breakfast is enough for anyone. The Comfort Inn hotel located in Oakhurst, CA should receive negative stars for their absolutely disgraceful and unspeakably terrible customer service. I have NEVER heard of nor witnessed such disrespect and mistreatment of a paying customer by a hotel employee before. This unacceptable experience was truly discrimination against minorities and the elderly at it's finest and it is unfortunately perpetuated by Choice Hotels by their failure to act and seek any resolution. What kind of employee (RENEE) decides to ridicule and humiliate an old man in the most disgustingly rude manner, demanding him to return food (there was no actual breakfast at all; just tiny wrapped mini muffins) because the hotel does not have sufficient food to feed their guests?! When it was only 7:30am and breakfast goes until 10 am?! Shouldn't customer satisfaction be the number one priority for a business claiming to be in the hospitality and courtesy industry?!?! All we witnessed was total incompetence, ignorance, and unconscionable failures with basic customer service! In addition, we almost tripped and fell from water that was leaking from the toilet so bad; we had to use the trash receptacle to hold the water since bottles would fill up too quickly and also placed towels on the bathroom floor. So we have major custom service issues, problems with discrimination, misleading and misrepresentation with regards to breakfast failures, plumbing problems, potential liability issues, and environment and water conservation faults right adjacent to Yosemite National Park! We decided last minute to take a trip to Yosemite on the 4th of July, so of course most places were booked. We ended up booking here at the Comfort Inn and really ended our two-night stay there. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was spacious and clean, and most importantly the hotel was only a 20 minute drive from the south entrance of Yosemite. We drove about an hour and a half during this busy weekend to get to Yosemite valley. It was great! There is a variety of restaurants nearby to that we got to choose from for dinner after a long day of hiking. I recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a reasonably priced, clean place to rest their head on their visit to Yosemite National Park. read more

The Comfort Inn was a great choice for a weekend getaway to Yosemite. Before you book, please note that although Oakhurst is about 30 minutes from the south entrance to Yosemite, it is a good 1-1/2 hours to Yosemite Village. And that's if there's not any traffic or other delays. The Comfort Inn room was clean and nice, with new bedding and very nice beds and pillows. The bathroom was stocked with nice amenities. Our room had a microwave and mini-fridge. There is a nice continental breakfast (sausage, eggs, waffles, cereal, bagels, juices, yogurt, etc.), but since we were having brunch at the Awhanee, we skipped it. Prices are very reasonable, especially when compared with those of the lodges inside the park. We booked through hotels.com and paid about $85 for 2 queen beds. Staff were so nice. The first room we were in had non-functioning air conditioning, and the manager immediately came up and helped us switch to a nearby room. Landscaping is pretty, and there's a pool in the center courtyard (although it was too cold for swimming when we visited). read more

It was cheap, as I'd expect in the off-season. Not much more to say on the positive side, except that the room was relatively clean and spacious. The tap water was unusable, first churning out brown, rusty water, then some murky white stuff. Probably just very hard well water, but obviously no filtration or softening going on. Couldn't make coffee, even though a maker was provided. The walls and floors carry sound easily, and our neighbors woke me up frequently, although they weren't being unreasonably loud. Quite a mixed bag at this place... Initial impressions: The parking lot is very strangely laid out. There were several lined spaces that said "No Parking". Not reserved, not for guests, just no parking. Why bother having lined spaces if that's the case? The lobby is pretty clean and freshly decorated - cool little selection of souvenirs also. The service was certainly lacking. Every interaction with the front desk seemed to feel more like an interruption. Definitely not friendly. The room itself was perfectly functional. There were some nice modern touches - nice flat screen TVs with tons of channels, and high-speed internet throughout the hotel. The air-conditioning worked very well. Otherwise, it was pretty dated. The beds were reasonably comfortable, and the room was quiet enough to ensure a good sleep. The bathroom was decent, but the toilet had a constant yellow-tinted water in it which was a bit gross... not sure what was going on there. The lighting in the room was eerie - perfectly, blinding white light from everything. Didn't try the pool, but the hot tub was a bit disappointing... it was more of a "luke-warm" tub. Didn't stay in there too long as a result. The breakfast every morning was decent - eggs, sausage, waffles, muffins, danishes, cereals, juices, etc. However, the size of the breakfast area was ridiculously small. The place was absolutely packed, inside and outside. At least they acknowledge this and do allow guests to take food back to their rooms. Overall, it wasn't terrible. For the price (and it isn't cheap), you're really paying for the location, not so much the quality of the hotel. Probably wouldn't stay here again unless there was no other option. read more

We stayed here one night. The room was clean and appeared freshly painted and the bedding looked new. The bed itself was comfortable (yay!) as were the pillows. The table and counter tops were granite. There was a refrigerator but no microwave. The breakfast was good with both hardboiled and scrambled eggs. Sausage, a toaster, and a waffle iron for make-your-own toast and waffles rounded out the hot-breakfast items. I have only two complaints. The first is that our door handle jammed open as we were trying to leave. Since we were in a hurry, we called the desk and they didn't sound surprised at it not working. They said it just needed to be pulled on hard. Well, my husband is very strong and he pulled on it quite hard, so much so that I was afraid of him breaking it. Anyway, we had to leave the room open while we went out, but we saw the lady coming to fix the door when we left. Made me a little nervous, but it ended well. My other complaint is minor. The outside light shown into our room around the sides and top of the drapes. I had brought my sleeping mask so the light didn't bother me, but if I hadn't it might have kept me awake. read more

The husband & I decided to stop for the night after a great day at Yosemite... our wee four month old was TIRED and was not gonna be happy in a car seat for the remaining four and a half hour ride home. In a pinch, while stopped at the Valero gas station next door, the honey called over and found that we could get a room for $100 for the night... so we did. The room was clean! The king-sized bed seemed devoid of the bugs, linens were fresh, the bathroom was lovely. We wished, for a moment, that we'd had an ultraviolet-light app on our phones to check for nasties... but the room was nice and definitely felt safe enough to reside in for the night. Wahoooo!!! The only funky part about our stay was the stressed-out vibe a particular front-desk woman gave my fella while he was checking us in. Tandy was NOT in a good mood that night... and the poor young girl working under her seemed to feel the oppressiveness that one feels under her unhappy & snappy boss. It really wasn't the biggest deal, but if Tandy's demeanor had been more cheerful and relaxed our stay at the Comfort Inn would've been a five star event. Overall, it was worth the money.
