    Great service, one of the best Boston restaurants. Flavors are interesting, but the jackfruit sliders were way too spicy. My fennel dish was quite good.

    Heard great things about Comfort Kitchen so was happy to get a resy here. You need to get the duck drumstick, it was fall off the bone, marinated in a sweet and savory sauce that's been cooked for a while. The dishes were small and easy to share among 2 people. The atmosphere is casual and chic. The staff were responsive and quick to clean up for the next dish.

    They have definitely maximized the space in this tiny restaurant in Dorchester. Albeit the small space, the bright Scandinavian feel doesn't make it feel too cramped when you're seated. Also a great place to stop by for a quick coffee in the morning. It would be especially nice in the warmer weather with the addition of the outdoor seating. I was a bit nervous that the food would be too heavy for my tasting but to my delight everything was spectacular with good portions. The food was so well balanced. Love that the menu rotates so will definitely be coming back!

    The service was so bad :( I was super excited to try this place out for dinner after stopping by for coffee and treats. I will say that the food was VERY good. We started off with the yucca fries and I loved the sauce it came with. For entree I got the jerk duck and it was so good! Everything was flavorful, fresh and delicious. Honestly it all made we want to try more on the menu. As for the service, I went for my birthday dinner and our server forgot about my friend and I multiple times, we didn't get menus, took away our water and they forgot to bring us out our drinks after a few reminders. Not sure what happened but that night the only redeeming thing was the food. The restaurant is on the smaller side but they have outdoor seating during the warmer months. I really enjoyed the lighting.

    We came for an early Saturday brunch and had a great time! I was intrigued by the fish and grits so I ordered that, and my friends got the waffle and the momo's. We also got a round of nepali chai and mustang aloo for the table. Everything was so good! The fish and grits was creamy and not too fishy, the chai had that homemade chai flavor, and the aloo had a unique mustard oil flavor that I don't think I've ever had at a restaurant before. Will be returning for dinner service!

    Wow Bf and I were hungry and stopped in without reservations. They were able to seat us bc we were early enough. They sat and apparently we were seated in the inaugural patio area which was located at the entrance way Greeted by Ray and another gentleman. What I really liked about the service is how it matches their name. They seemed very authentic and took pride in their job and the cuisine they served up Apparently it is also a rotating menu. We tried the fried plantains dipped in a slightly spicy sauce with peanuts on top (Kewele) I got the chicken in a banan leaf With a green sauce with rice. And pickled onions on top I could see why this place received hi marks. Each dish was so flavorful and each part of the dish was distinct but blended so well together We'd come back again!

    The food at Comfort Kitchen is great, for sure, and is also both interesting and pretty! The first item I had, jackfruit sliders, blew my doors off and may haunt my dreams for a while--a great balance of sour and salty and heat. The service was kind and attentive (though wow it gets busy so be kind to the servers too). The location is in a beautiful old house so it's easy to imagine a grandma's recipes inspiring some of the food. Loved it!

    I came here with my mom when she was in town and unfortunately she doesn't do spicy. The drinks we had were both amazing, I would definitely come for drinks again. Then we had an app which was good but the real star was the jerk chicken and goat gnocchi. And I would recommend the chicken over the gnocchi. Everything about that dish was good. The goat did fall apart in the gnocchi dish, I just wish the flavor had been a little less subtle. We finished with a cake which was more dry and grainy but that could have been the point? Definitely fresh flavors, just not a huge fan of the texture. The vibes were truly unique and the other guests at the bar so kind.

    I've been wanting to try this restaurant and it has exceeded my expectations! I highly recommend booking a reservation through OpenTable as this place gets packed during dinner time and the restaurant is not that big. Here's what we got: Suya Beef ($18) Great appetizer to share. It came with 4-5 pieces of steak that were tender and had a nice char. The caramelized red onions, pickled mustard seeds, and mint relish really complimented the steak. It was such a unique and delicious combination! Jerk Roasted Duck ($34) Must get dish here! The flavors of the duck was out of this world and it was literally fork tender! I was surprised when the meat fell apart without me cutting into it. It was so flavorful that it paired perfectly with the rice and a pickled side dish called pikliz. I would come back just for the duck! New Fish Curry ($28) Giant piece of monkfish over a coconut curry broth. The fish had a nice sear and the was tender on the inside. It was served with a house made flatbread to soak up all the delicious curry. My friend licked the bowl clean! Beef Short Rib ($32) Huge chunks of braised short ribs that had good flavors and was paired with spinach and a side of yuca fries. Unfortunately, the yuca fries were a miss for us - they were cut too big and the texture was dense, dry, and not crispy at all. Overall, I was impressed by the flavor profiles of the food here. We also tried a few cocktails (One in a Million is perfect for sweet cocktail lovers and the Espresso Martini is strong and potent). Although the cocktails were good, I think they were a bit overpriced for the portion size ($18 each). I would 100% come back for the food though!

    Would not recommend for brunch. The burger was certainly not a 26 dollar burger, quite small has not super flavorful. The shrimp and grits were uninspired, just fine. Also tails on shrimp while they are covered in sauce is just annoying. In addition, over the past 6 months I've watched quality service and food tremendously drop, hopefully changes are in progress. Today they seemed extremely understaffed with 2 servers both taking orders and manning the host desk and one server being still in training. Drinks were forgotten and it took a while to get small things such as a spoon or a straw. This used to be a place I always recommended but there seems to be issues as of late.

    Soon as you get to this place you can tell everything is done with love and pride. Came here on a Thursday night and it was a vibe. The suya beef app was my favorite! The duck was cooked really well.. i do wish it had a bit more spice to it though. Brisket was solid I appreciated that they had South African red wine which is my favorite too!

    Comfort kitchen is such a loving and thoughtful restaurant. You immediately feel welcomed and a part of an intimate community when you arrive. Food and drinks are exceptional especially the fresh and refreshing mocktails. The kelewele with the sesame seeds is a chefs kiss moment of truly blending African and Asian ingredients within this dish to perfection. So much gratitude for this spot and can't wait to return.

We were seated right away at a table in the middle of the floor. Told that was best that could be done. Like eating in an aisle. After a few minutes we were asked if we wanted still water or not. We ordered bread and butter and a spice bag, but vegetarian. No bread today ran out. And no plans to bake anymore. We wait close to 25 minutes for our appetizers. Spice bag arrives and I had read rave reviews about this. Open it and its filled with chicken and french fries. Server grabbed it and told us, kitchen error. They would make another, be there in a minute or two. I asked would this show up with our entrees. No, be spaced apart. We waited over 15 minutes, it arrived. Was supposed to have cauliflower, peppers, onions and french fries. There was three pieces of cauliflower and no peppers or onions. What was there was tasty and well spiced. And as soon as we opened the bag and started eating, entrees show up. Fish and chips portions are huge and very nicely fried. Excellent crisp and fantastic steak fries. The Pizza #1, excellent tomatoed base and the crust had a good chew to it. I ordered the Beyond meat lasagna. Huge portion with a green salad and cole slaw. Cole slaw was creamy and very nice. Green salad was fresh but drenched in dressing. My fault should have asked for it on the side. The lasagna was disappointing. No seasoning, no garlic or onions or oregano. It was, I think a British version of lasagna. Ate about half could not eat more. No desserts, but drinks, tea and hot chocolate. Or I did not see it. Server apologized for the timing of the meals, the error with the Spice Bag and the lack of bread. She was sweet. Lots of sports being broadcasted, and a huge long bar. I would come for beer and soccer or football. If I wanted Irish bar food I'd be better going to the Burren. And parking is a challenge. They have a very small lot, we got lucky and found a spot. Hard pass on McGonagle's.

She found it chewy and oddly paired with grits? Other notes -- this place was so loud that we could not hear each other, almost at a night club level. Unpleasant. Service was very inconsistent and I'd offer not up to their standards. Last the price we spent $240 for two people. Between the ambiance and the food misses, I think this is a hard pass going forward. Pizza was amazing.
