Great selection but I have never been to a store that smelled this musty. The guy (white) sitting in his chair in the back seems to be annoyed by his customers. Made eye contact and ignored us. Felt like we barely got any kind of help or acknowledgment. I can get over that part. But it gets better... what I could not get over was the smell. It smelled god awful body odor the moment we stepped into the store. And they all sound congested and mouth breathing. Lmao. So I basically walked into Covid. Setup is weird, they have colored dots for card in glass. So YOU have to look up the prices which is genius. Bought $25 worth of cards while the guy who's packing it is mishandling them even though they were in the glass case. So bravo. They also don't carry common cards. Name is wrong it's actually called Skyscraper Comic. They are giving the last owner a bad name for sure. If it weren't for them they would be one star. read more

And others can be to big and allow your cards to bend which did nothing for you as you wanted it to. He even let my son touch the cards and shuffle them as he just showed him. He has patience and loves to teach everyone. For me, showing my young kids all this and have the patience is A+ in my comic book! They do alot here feom family game night on sundays 5pm to 8pm and other random game nights from magic and yu-gi-o. Call or check them out for the latest info. They have comics from Dc, marvel, revolution and wayyyy more, even some local artist from Sacramento. Buy, sell or trade i have heard people doing in the shop. While it is a smaller shop they have a good selection of many items. If your looking to start a collection, grow a collection or look for something in the realm of comics give them a look. I've been here a few times. The store is clean and they appear to have new stock come in regularly so their bins are fresh and exiting to hunt through. The comics are cared for in the store, which makes shopping a pleasure. The employees were attentive and asked multiple times if I needed any assistance. I've been worried about finding a card shop that would treat me differently because I don't look like the typical person who would be into TCG but these guys accepted me with open arms. They're more than willing to answer questions you'll have and each staff specializes in a specific TCG. They give you fair value for trade-ins and 9/10 you can buy your singles for less than Market Price. The staff are friendly and the owner ensures the store maintains a family like environment. TCG isn't the only thing they have, they also sell comics, collectibles, and even figurines. Anything specific you want you could possibly place an order or see if the staff has it to sell to you. 12/10 would recommend. read more

Came in on Free Comic Book Day 2023 and come to surprise not a lot of people in the store. There was no hello after entering the door and saw almost everything for singles was wiped out as usual. I have been there a few times this year and it's almost normal to not have anything restocked throughout the day which is disappointing. With their sale happening I read that if I paid cash I would not get charged tax, so I make my way to the register with 2 packs of dragon shields and the employee that was working behind the counter did not seem he wanted to be there. He almost charged me more for a one of the Dragon Shields because the other one was a Dual matte until I said something. He told me my order and I gave him cash, but he only gave me change back as if he did charge me tax. I did not realize it until I left driving. According to their ad "Pay Cash and save the Tax (must pay 100% cash, any store credit or CC payments will be fully taxed)". I paid the total amount cash and I guess the employee just didnt care or know their own sale. I'm not sure what has happened to this store as it was one of the Comic/Card stores I liked going to since they first opened, but it definitely has changed. long story short: bad customer service. ad stated pay 100% cash and save on tax. I paid cash and I was charged tax. employee almost charged me more for an item until I said something. read more

Being new to the Dragon Ball Super TCG, I am grateful this store exists! Not only do they sell Booster Boxes and the various Boxed Sets (Expansions & Draft Boxes), they also have a small but mighty collection of sought after Singles, as well as bulk Singles of older sets. Everyone who works here has been friendly every time I've come in and I appreciate that they always seem to be getting new stock on their shelves of various Pop Culture items like Character Pins, POP! This place seems to be very selective for who they do pre orders. It's happened TWICE now. they haven't had what I requested only to find out I've been putting on a wishlist and not the pre-order list. They need to train their employees to specify what's going on. I shouldn't have to drive there to find out my orders aren't ready. It's not difficult to call your customers and say "we apologize for the inconvenience but unfortunately we didn't have enough pre orders sent to our store" instead I show up only to be disappointed. Ended up going to three different big box retailers until I found what I needed finally. Would not recommend at all. You're better off going to A1 Comics or Big Brothers in Downtown. read more

Today is the first and last time I will come to this comic shop. Very disappointed. Today was Pokémon pre-release and on their social media account they stated that it will start at 12pm. Took my daughters and nephews hoping to get some Pokémon and just to found out that they were sold out before 12pm before the start time. This can be consider back dooring. This is a great comic book store. I spent several hours hunting through their extensive back issue bins and was continuously entertained by the comic book and game card-related chit chat going on in the background. The time flew by and I felt very welcomed when I occasionally joined in. Pricing is very fair on back issues and grading is solid. The owner is happy to pull a book out of a bag and discuss the grade if necessary, and in general I found him to be a very tight grader with a good eye. This is one of my favorite comic book stores is all of northern California. Even though it's a 90 minute drive from my house (without traffic), it was well worth the drive. The owner and the employees are true comic book fans and they know how to make a customer feel appreciated. Every question I had was answered and without even a whiff of the annoyance that one sometimes feels in a shop where the owners or employees are jaded and your questions seem like an unwelcomed burden to them. Nothing against the location and selection of comics but the customer service i received on my last visit i came in for comic and I ask the guy at the front desk where is was and he gave me attitude and said " just look, everything is right in front of you" I was shock he said this because my local comic book shop employees are extremely cool. If I could give 0 stars I would. Rude, short staff that made me feel uncomfortable. I was buying a birthday gift for my wife and the info they gave me didn't match up with what another card shop said. Also I found what I was looking for at Costco so I know the guy lied to me about it not being out yet. I ended up buying some stuff but didn't get a receipt when I asked for it. Sure enough when I walked out and counted everything I was short $11. Never going back there and I will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I sold my Magic the gathering cards here that I've been collecting since high school, and although it was a hard decision, I feel like Josh (the owner) gave me a reasonable offer! He spent some good time going through each of my cards, and I felt he was super honest and I got more than I expected. Yes, I know local stores only give maybe 25% the actual price, but if you're looking to get quick cash and you don't actually value your cards anymore, this place is worth it. Staff is rude and selective, very discriminatory towards me and my friends who just started collecting cards again. They refuse to allow us to buy any bulk cards besides commons. This place used to be great before the owner upgraded and move to a bigger location a few stores down in the same plaza. Today was my second extremely appalling experience with this store, specifically the owner. I don't remember his name but he has a piss poor attitude when dealing with customers who ask questions about his products. He acts as if everyone who steps foot in a comic shop should be a pro and know everything without asking him. His tone and attitude was horrendous condescending. I asked him if he had any Sun & Moon Pokemon cards and he pointed at it as if he were implying that I was blind. I asked one follow up question about whether he had any Team Up booster packs and he got super irritated and annoyed and used a super nasty condescending tone to answer me. One of the customers there actually chimed in and answered me in a really polite and nice way. He said he actually bought all of the Team Up booster packs. Again, this was the second time I experienced this level of piss poor customer service. Piece of advice for you, treat your customers better or you may not have any left. I gave the place a second chance and thought maybe he was just having an off day but evidently that's just how he treats his customers now. Before he moved to the bigger location, he actually showed passion and care for his customers and always answered questions in a very polite and graceful way. Maybe expanding and moving to the bigger spot made his head too big. I hope the owner reads this because this is written directly for him. Whatever the case may be, I will not be supporting you any longer. I just bought an entire booster box of Unified Minds from you yesterday. I wish I had supported someone else instead. The store here is awful especially for YuGiOh. The customer service is atrocious and the store is a mess. When I was there a player asked the person in charge of the tournament how many rounds were left. The employee responded with "There's 22 players and three rounds played, you do the math. I've worked retail and I've never talked to customers like that unless they were rude, but this customer was not. You also can't find the simplest things like playmats without asking. They scam you for the entry fee as well. TCG stores are supposed to give you a pack for the amount you pay, but they don't that at this store claiming that Konami got rid of the rules which is untrue. Konami still does remote duels that reward you with a playmat and are still allowing players to play at certain tcg locations. Worst place to play YuGiOh second to maybe Equilibrium games in Concord. They had masks off and food out when I entered the store. The cashier, who I assume was the owner by the way he was talking to everyone, was not wearing a mask while I was purchasing my items. He was very unfriendly and the way he spoke to me was very demeaning. This was my first time checking out this comic shop and it'll be my last. This shop should be called Card Commander Center, not the Comic Command Center they virtually had zero current back issues to speak of no Batman, no Venom, not anything, to be honest. They did have a huge selection of tabletop card games if that is your thing and it isn't mine. Additionally, the problem with these kinds of stores is exactly what one of the workers/owners told me he said they order just enough copies for savers and maybe there are a handful of issues left and that is it! Not sure how they are going to get new comic customers in the door this way and them keep them coming back when they can't find anything they well you know actually want to buy. And another small annoyance is when you go into comic shops there are the MTG players in there playing usually (this store was no exception) and instead of keeping them away from the shopping area as they should they put them right on top of it and then they act all put out that someone is shopping the actual store they come and play their little MTG game at. The guys running the shop were nice and I bought a couple of comics I already had just so I didn't feel like I wasted the 20 minutes I spent driving there due to the reviews it had on Yelp and Google that didn't live up to the hype. If you are a comic collector in Sacramento avoid this shop if you don't want to be disappointed, but if you are a tabletop game player it is probably the spot for you. read more

My 7 year old has recently started to play the Pokémon trading card game. As a parent it's been fun playing with him but challenging to understand the entire ecosystem/game etc. we came to the store and met the owner who spent about 30 minutes helping me understand the Pokémon landscape and guide us down the next steps. I came to this store maybe a month after it was open. I drove down from Yuba City to participate in a Pokémon Leauge on a Tuesday night. I talked to the Owner who by the way is awesome. We talked about Pokémon and Magic. I metioned that O to was aspiring to open a shop in my area. We began to talk aboit what it takes and how he started. He was upfront very honest and even opened his books for me to see his ups and downs of everyday sales. As for the tournament there were pleanty of people playing and he we all pitched in for round table. It was a great night. I donated some singles for him to start selling and I preordered stuff from him. This is the great thing about america, one man with a dream can set out and accomplish thise things. This place is brand spanking new, but it's got the makings of a great comic book shop. First off, I noticed they are advertising a family game night, which is a good way to make the shop feel friendly to a wider range of clients. Next, I saw that the shop is set up to offer more than just Marvel and DC comics. I'm personally excited to see the sections for small press. Finally the customer service was perfect: friendly and knowledgeable without being pushy. The owner, Josh, happily answered my questions about a particular series without giving too much away. It piqued my interest but it didn't feel like he was trying to make a sale. I'll happily spend my comic book money here from now on. read more

As comic stores go, this place is nice. I really like the owner, who cares a lot about what he does. They have a good selection of comic books, but do not have very many in stock. Because it is a smaller store and pretty new, they do not keep as much on hand. But that also means they are more likely to run out. They also serve up regular gaming opportunities for those who are interested, especially magic the gathering and Pokémon. They have singles available if you need certain cards and offer these all at very reasonable prices. Not a lot of back stock but for friendliness and helpfulness this is a great place. One of the best selection of comic books in Sacramento! First time going to this comic shop in Sac & can't believe I never noticed this place before. The employees there were very welcoming & helpful, conversational and just overall the place felt like I was a kid again enjoyin' looking thru the comics. Very organized shop, which is rare to see sometimes in other shops. Was able to scoop a few Marvel Team-Ups & other issues I was on the lookout for.
