After going to Comics-N-Stuff for over 40 years since they were Comics R US, I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with their new service. I've been having them pull Comics for me for years and at times I have lagged on going in and my stack gets large, but I have been going in at let once or maybe twice in a month. Well the last time I went in to the Mission Valley location they said that my subscription was canceled because I had 7 months of back comics and they said that someone should have called me to inform me, if they called me which they did not, I would not have stopped by the store. This comics n stuff has a hug variety of collectibles. I was amused with all the stuff they had. My daughter had picked out a good amount of stuff from this place that she had been looking for. This location wasn't so busy luckily you can walk in and walk out really easily. They staff was nice and friendly. My LCS! (Local Comicbook store) - Even if it's still about a 20 min drive for me because I come from the Otay Ranch/Eastlake area lol. This is probably one of the better Comics-n-stuff locations in town. The "Mother" location is the one off the 125 in El Cajon, which is huge, and I also highly recommend checking out. This location at the Chula Vista Center has a great variety of the proverbial "something for everyone." Comics new and old (lots of bins), trade paperbacks, figures, funko pops, apparel, glassware, plushes. You name it! My personal favorite thing about this location is the space. A huge section for different kinds of figures (i.e. Marvel Select, Marvel Legends, Funko pops, Anime figures, etc) near the front door. Love how back issues are in the middle and recent/modern issues are in their own section and throughout almost half of the store. The staff here is great. They helped me dive in to my interest for comics, offering insights, recommendation on runs I should read, and helping me sign up for their annual membership program (which offers around a 15%-20% discount at all locations, and has come in CLUTCH for some key books I spent big money on). I never used to come to this mall but now I come for the comic shop, and sometimes the food options and Hot Topic to completely fill the inner geek inside lol. read more

One of the most well-managed and curated comic book stores I've ever been to. The manager went out of his way to spend time discussing where to source the vintage graphic novels I was looking for. They also answer the phone quickly and courteously and were able to find the new comic I wanted and held the first 2 issues at the counter until I arrived. Affordable and great service! I think this store has everything for the comic fan. Comic books, manga, figurines, coins, wearable apparel, you name it, they even have some board games. I notices comic boxes and trading card sheets as well. I took a picture of the Boys mega books that they sell, but I can't upload it, however, they are all the actors on the covers, and they are really cool looking. This store is really nice. I have shopped here a few times. It didn't blow me away. Made some small talk with the clerk and he seemed genuine. He said he would hold some issues for me after i contacted him by email. I sent my friend that's a girl to pick up the comics and she said he didn't hold them for me. But he did manage to try to impress her with his cool Iphone application. First off, let me apologize to Kevin. I didn't mean I didn't like Batman. I'm just more into the indie comic stuff. That look you gave me made me feel like I offended you somehow. But I'd take Batman over Superman any day (If drawn correctly...). Anyway, I must say that I usually go out of my way to visit the local comic book shops. The chain store stigma that the name Comics-N-Stuff carries leaves a sour taste in my mouth much like the taste of a Starbucks coffee beverage. But one thing I did forget were the people who run these stores. The woman at the Plaza Blvd. location made it feel like I was an imposition by being there just cause it was 10 minutes until closing. But it's a smaller venue so whatever. Kevin was like a comic wiki. My sister was looking for a comic of which the name escaped her and he knew exactly what she was looking for with just a brief description. Who enjoys their job that much to actually you know, be knowledgeable about it. Take that Nelson's Camera Supply. It was nice that he actually tried to start a conversation with me, the socially awkward introvert who'd have trouble conversing with an android much less a real human being. And every time a customer came in he'd be quick to offer assistance. And not in the intimidating way that most sales clerks do that make me want to run right out of the store. And the 1$ comic sale was enough to put a smile on my broke college student face. So thank you Kevin for a pleasant shopping experience. read more

When I first came to San Diego alomost 15 years ago, I found it quite hard to find a comic book store that met my needs I tried first with Amazing Al's comics and fromthat store it seemed they were more considered about business than the customer. Then I found out another chian of comic book stores called Comics - N- Stuff, were I met Theron Jacobs and Kevin Rummage. Both of these gentlemen go beyond just being a store employee, they have the style and attitude where they meet and greet every customer and treat them as if they were one of the family at this store. To me this is very important today in the market. Because other places I have gone just treat you like a number and want to get you through the store as quickly as possible. I don't get this feeling from Theron or Kevin, they take their time with each customer to make sure they have the best shopping experience possible. And also another benefiet of them both is that the enjoy what they are doing and they are able to relate the customer. Especially for myslef as an avid comic collector I am able to talk and discuss comics and other related issues and they are able to relate themselves to the subject . Traits like Kevin's and Theron are hard to find in todays market, becasue of the rarity of the breed, where money has become the botto, line today in the market, vice the customers needs. The employees seem to jump to other Comics-N-Stuff locations, so one month they might be here and another they might be at El Cajon. In any case, I like this spot a lot. horrible "policies." The employee there rang up the total incorrectly on the credit card machine and according to them, there was no way to return my funds or give me cash back. All they could do was give me store credit. It was only a couple of dollars so it wasn't a huge deal but still pretty ridiculous that they can't do anything about returning my money when it was THEIR FAULT! I picked up a comic that was in the value range of the money that was added to my card and got the hell out. Comics n Stuff is terrible. Not only do their have ridiculous prices for their comics, their return policy as well as other policies completely rob the customers. Do not support this business. Go to SD Comics or Socal Comics because their comics are cheaper and I'm sure they can do something simple like return money to a customer for an EMPLOYEE ERROR. read more

They have a decent size shop. Back issues are really good. Employees are very nice and helpful. The store was neat clean and organized.

Years ago, this used to be one of the only Comics-N-Stuff around so it held a better selection. Now that there's tons of them everywhere, selection has been strategically placed. Don't get me wrong, this is an awesome store because it has somewhat of a good selection of comic books and toys. The guy who works here has been working here for years so he knows regulars and opens conversations to newer customers. I like that, that makes me want to stick around longer. It took a few seconds when one of the employees approached me and asked if I needed help, both of the guys seemed to be doing inventory but were more than willing to help me out. I initially went to get a Walking dead Comic (who doesn't now in days) but also to get another comic... I normally would have given this place a better rating but their return policy is stupid. My sons action figure he got, the arms FELL OFF and I called and told the store. We didn't want a return, just an exchange or a trade for an action figure that isn't MESSED UP. And they said " oh, you have to come on Tuesday (three days later) to speak to the big boss. Hello, it was their messed up toy, my son did nothing and he just wanted one that worked!!! It was over $30 bucks and I have to wait??!?!!!! Yeah, I'm going to make a stink about this! This place is much better now that they moved locations within the mall. They used to be in a shop about a third of the size, so obviously their inventory suffered as a result, now they have much more of a selection. My biggest gripe is that most of the non-comic merchandise is quite over priced. I've seen things for $10 that I have bought for $4 or $5 in other shops. If they brought down their prices on those sort of items, then I would be visiting this store much more often. read more

I like Comics N Stuff only because it's the only book store around in the south bay area! However the guys at the Chula Vista mall location are pretty cool, and I will usually only shop there. Only reason I didn't give it a better rating is because of the owner Ed. I hate him, every time I've been in one of his stores when he's in there, he's rude, and unprofessional. I took my daughter with me to a store once and he was casually speaking to his employee, and would just curse up a storm, so I left cuz I didn't want my daughter to hear him. Also what the hell is up with moving your stores every other month?! Can't you keep a location and stick with it?! I'm also not a fan of stores that don't support the little guy. No Indy Sections for local artist, just name brand. That just tells me no passion for the industry just $$$$! read more

Went in Jan. 20, 2011 to pick up some WoW tcg items. When I first came in I think the owner was reaming the worker bee about filling out paperwork in the mornings. I looked intently at a few items, actually stared at the two for a few moments, didn't get any notice, and figured I would just go to a book store. Came back about 15 minutes later for the classic, "second chance." TapOut looking owner was standing around and the worker bee just sort of stood there while I stared intently to see the labels on the WoW merchandise just behind worker bee. The lights were all off. Just as I was making eye contact to say something the TapOut owner guy got his attention...and I said, WTF - I'm not spending my money here. I'd say just skip this place. It's a shame. I'd love to find a good local comic shop where I could go and BS comics, games, whatever. This isn't that place and my money is going on line. freakin' shame. read more

This one has a nice selection of Comics and toys. Its also really organized, if there is any problem the Manager is a nice guy and will fix it for you. Don't believe these guys claiming they don't hold books for you , if anything their really good about it. I recommend any comic or toy fan to give it a try. My only gripe is that it's in a mall and I hate malls. read more
