Corletts Interiors

I think that this is the first interior design shop I had ever been in. I was impressed! They offer…read morea fantastic service and advice for quite a moderate price. They do help you with everything such as wall coverings and colour. They adapt their service for every customer and that is why people keep going back here. Their website needs an update really. Maybe a gallery to showcase their work? Apart from that: High Five to them!
My first curtains were lovely so I went back for more. This time their lack of expertise showed…read more First they put in the the wrong colour of lining (cream against a black grey and white material) then because it's a geometrical design the didn't get the best match they could so the curtains look odd when they are open. If they had pointed this out I could have paid for more fabric and had a better outcome but they just didn't want to know - at the same time Mrs. Corlett was calling a previous elderly customer colour blind as she left the shop because she had also had a complaint - I should have known I would experience a problem - didn't heed the warning signs so make up your own minds.

A sleek, chic, show house type furniture store on Whitworth Street West, with nothing but estate agents around. Located under the arches, it's location is pretty different and a great place to wander on in. Established in 1996, Ferrious has a great portfolio of fans including the Home Office and Chelsea Football Club. Ferrious prides itself on showcasing works from quality, innovative companies. I don't know a lot about domestic interiors but it sure looks and feels very exquisite in taste.

They have some incredible pieces here, large, marsh-mallow sofas, oversized doughnut chairs, clean kitchens and sleek, modern lighting. They stock some of the most innovative brands in home design: Paula Lenti, Moroso and Marset. If you have a down town warehouse apartment, practically anything you purchase in here will look incredible in it. Of course, nothing comes cheap in here but if being individual means a lot to you then there's nothing for it: get out your credit card.

Little Greene

I hadn't really heard of Little Greene before my "I'm sick of the mustard yellow lounge" event…read more They, however, rock. I've only used their services online (I don't even know if they have a shop/paint outlets), however, they get four stars because: They have a lovely range of colours They send a paint brush with the paint sample pots (incredibly helpful) They send sample pots in screw-top jars (incredibly helpful) Their customer service and fulfilment is so efficient and friendly Their paint is good quality Their website is well-organised, from their products and services to their ordering process and their comparison function. They lose one star only because their website makes it a little difficult to really compare the colours; not all of the colurs have a photograph that lets you see what the colour is truly like in a room or on a wall etc. They do have a warning saying to order a sample pot rather than judge from the colour square, which is very sound advice (simply because the colour squares vary even on different monitors and different printers). But their paint is good quality and, on a perhaps slightly weird note, it smells nice. I don't mean I was sniffing paint all day - having painted the hall, sitting in the loungeroom something smelled a bit like delicious berry yoghurt. And I realised it was the paint. Which was a nice change from the smell of paint in the living room, which had had a similar treatment but with a different brand of paint....which just smelled quite heavily of, well, paint. So now the hall is a paler shade that leads into my loungeroom, which is no longer mustard yellow.

Rosi Interiors
What can I say, I do live in a rather affluent area and I have caught myself from time to time…read morepondering the benefits of living in an area where vapid women sashay around, hell bent of displaying the latest gourde accessories added to the thier already Mr T like get-up. If you are one of these people, then this is where you should go to have your "humble" abode given a taste of the imagination that you are obviously lacking in! I shamefully went into this shop yesterday after seeing a small (note - small) red armchair on display, the polite designer who gave me the price also gave me the feeling that Julia Roberts character in pretty woman must have had when walking into a Rodeo Drive boutique dressed as a lady of the night! anyway, the chair cost £1,745!! but to be completely fair, I was also informed that a basic design without the red velvet would cost only £1,280! Needless to say, I made a sharp exit. If you require the efforts of an Interior Designer to give further evidence to the speculation that some people have more money than sense (and that is being polite) then look no further
