I've been with the Hamburger Volksbank for about two years and am happy with their service - or…read morerather to say, happy with not needing their service. After two entire years, I have not had one incident or issue which I needed to contact them about, so I'll take that as a sign that they must be doing something right. My major, major gripe with this bank is that they simply do not have enough outlets in the city and they do not belong to any cash-groups, which means that I can only withdraw cash from their ATMs and finding said ATMs are a major pain in the tuchus. They do not seem to have a mobile website, so finding these ATMs on the go is a major issue. Thank goodness for Qype mobile. Another problem is that the software running on their ATMs are not particularly reliable. I have made a trek to the bank (emphasis on trek) more than a few times to find the ATMs out of order, or have attempted to withdraw cash from a functioning ATM, only for it to lock up. To sum up - I'm happy with this bank for the low cost account plans, but am unhappy about their lack of locations and seemingly perpetually broken ATMs.
