Slightly different and much bigger in size than the Common Bond bistros I have seen. It has a full service bar with bar stools and everything. There are plenty tables and chairs for large groups. And sofas ( not in good condition at all... but sofas .. yes)... ya... big ones length wise. Pretty noisy actually. Good noise. Cheerful sharing while chilling over drinks and pastries - that kind of noise. Have been craving for fries lately and when I saw Common Bond, was very excited but they didn't carry the thick truffle fries which I was so fond of in the other Common Bond. Still, it was good fries and the staff was very friendly.... many high schoolers doing a summer job so they are super nice. They have a rewards program running - once registered, $spent is $earned in points which can be redeemed later. Staff was friendly and seemed like some of them were high schoolers or sort of, doing summer jobs so they were extra courteous and cautious - it was very much appreciated The fresh pastries were inviting and they had a big menu of other eats too. For me Common Bond and their specialty small dessert cakes went hand in hand. And this bakery did keep up that reputation- they had some sumptuous looking mini cakes. One of my favorite food categories is "fancy" fast casual, a category I made up to describe restaurants that offer upscale fast casual eats and treats. Why 5 stars? Because there wasn't much not to like! --- --- --- My wife had a hankering to visit Common Bond and this was the closest location to us. I'd been to one in Houston before, but just for coffee, but I had a good experience there, so I was down to try their food. There were a ton of great sweet and savory options on the menu, so ordering was a challenge, but we ended up grabbing a pretty big combination of both types of sustenance. Savory: I ordered the breakfast burger and it was really great. Normally I feel like an egg takes away from the flavor of a burger, but that was not the case here. I'm really pleased with my choice here, despite the temptation to go with several alternatives. 5-stars. My wife ordered the soft scramble, and I'll give it this: it was most definitely the softest, most gentle collection of eggs I've ever eaten. But I think I like my rendition of scrambled eggs better. 4-stars. Sweet: Pistachio Croissant: All boxes checked. 5-stars. Snickerdoodle Cookie: I offer all of my praise for this delight. 5-stars. Gingerbread whoopie pie: It wasn't called a whoopie pie, but that's what it was. Like the snickerdoodle cookie, I'm mad I had to share this. 5-stars. Coco-nut cookie: We thought this was a chocolate coconut cookie, but it turns out it was chocolate and nuts. Drinks: I ordered the dragon fruit berry concoction with my meal, and in a rare moment of weakness, I couldn't resist the maple pecan cold brew, despite ordering black coffee 99% of the time. Was here for work and we happened to come to Common Bond as a meet up place for breakfast. Food takes a little bit to come but generally pretty quick when you get there avacado toast. Eggs benedict takes a lot longer so plan accordingly. Coffee and lattes seem to come quickly since the barista is decent and they have great service. We were having a mediocre experience at a nearby establishment and decided to look for somewhere else to enjoy a few drinks. We came across this place by chance and boy was it great!! Why didn't we come here to begin with?! We weren't ordering food, so we made our way to the small bar. We were immediately greeted and told we could order drinks there, no problem! The bartender was super friendly, explained the mimosa prices and flavors and made us feel very welcome. Very attentive and helpful, she didn't mind answering our questions as it was our 1st time there. We started with a mimosa flight, which includes four mimosas of various flavors. We then chose our favorite and ordered a carafe. The pricing is definitely on point. Overall, very clean. Definitely a cute place to brunch with friends. Stopped by for brunch and it's a cute spot. They have outdoor/indoor seating with easy free parking. I got the breakfast tacos and the $3 mimosa flight. The tacos were good, the side of beans that came with it could've used some seasoning though. I mainly came to try their mimosa special, they were out of some flavors so I got 2 hibiscus & 2 traditional ones. The waiter accidentally made my flight twice so that was a total of 8 mimosas. I drank 6 and felt nothing! I had to take a star off for that. I usually feel a buzz after 2 and cut myself off at 3 so the fact that I drank 6 and felt just fine makes me feel like they must be watered down. That was my fear when I saw how cheap they were. The star of the dish was the bread, if they sold them in loaves I would have purchased a few. The burger was mid- the bread was way too thick and it was too much for the size of the patty. The fries were nice and crispy. The plain croissant was buttery, flakey and not heavy. I wasn't a fan of the pistachio croissant, the filling was really sweet and tasted artificial. Went for Saturday Brunch here at City Place, it was packed! But we got served pretty quickly and they tried to clean up as soon as the tables were unoccupied. This is a chain bistro and bakery. You order and are given a number card and your food is brought to you. Then you're left alone. So about the food... loved the bakery items as you're about to order. The kids were looking like this at those so it's a must have, and reasonably priced in my opinion. We ordered the Southwestern Salmon salad but they were out of salmon, and we had shrimp allergies in our group so even though we got it as a substitute option we couldn't take it but got the salad without any protein. It was still awesome. Got a kids meal cheese burger n fries, for our 4 year old it was more than enough, two burgers and loads of French fries. Also got the grilled cheese and soup for kids which was cheesy and delicious. The Quiche Lorraine was a bit on the saggier side than how I'd normally have a quiche, however the flavors and freshness were good. I was told by my friend that The crispy Brussels sprouts is a must have, it had bits of pancetta and sweet. I have a honey allergy so I didn't have any so I took my friends word for it. Our lemonade was really sweet but we were able to get some water added which made it better tasting for us. Plus we got a couple of their delicious cookie to go. We had to cancel the it bc we were already done with our food and still nothing. I ordered the steak and eggs medium well steak. It was more like fried steak. Super crunchy and overcooked. The runner told me that bc the size of the steak was so small he would bring me another one- that came after we were done eating and in fact it was well done too not good. Ok redemption- I ordered latte after my food. Nope. Tasted like milk with a splash of coffee. I'm not one to complain about coffee as like a lot creamer on my coffee but I couldn't even finish it. I love this place. The city place location is so ideal for many reasons. The are is walk/bike/car and dog friendly. They even have a water bowl out for thirsty furr babies. The service is always great. I even have a neighbor that works there so feels like a hometown spot. I have taken my bike for brunch and they have a good Avocado toast and coffee.
