Over 15 years of service to the general public as a peace officer with the RCMP I have had to deal with many violent situations. In most of these situations or conflicts I was the smaller/weaker person in the fight. I have always been and always will be what I think of myself as a smaller male. So to be able to deal with the violence I had to use my skills and my intellect to overcome the dangers. Before working with the RCMP I had only been faced with violence a handful of times and I did not know how to defend myself because I never needed to. When I went to depot to train I was taught many techniques and ways to think my way through different situations and resolve the conflict either with my words or with violence when needed. In this course I want to teach what I know. I have been in the shoes of someone that never thought of having to defend themselves and face a situation that they had to use either their words or violence to defend themselves. I have watched may instructional videos for women to defend themselves and some are good and some are just not going to work. Before the RCMP when I was faced with a fight or flight situation I always chose flight because I didn't know what to do. I know most people reading this feel the same way but that's what I want to change. I want to show you how to react to a dangerous situation and be ready for it. I want to show you how to defend yourself with easy to learn and easy to remember techniques.
