For WWII and military buffs like me- actual untouched bunkers that were constructed in 1940. Goose bumps. Surfing - one of the best surfing venues. Kitesurfing too. Definitely! Did we and can you get to Wissant from Paris by train or car in less than 2 hours? Oui! Wow are those the white cliffs of Dover in England across the English Channel that you can see and almost touch? Yes. You mean the temperature in July and August stays in the 75-79 degree F range and 29 to 42 in December and January? Certainly. Is this the ultimate place to experience and then go fishing on a flat bottom boat or flobart with the most fun crew ever? Indeed. Is the population of Wissant just 938 currently which means we felt like and you will feel like you have your own private beach? Affirmative. Best, fresh mussels and oysters and the most awesome fish and chips evahhhh? Yup. Loads of restaurants to choose from. Nice! Can't wait to see everyone in August for the Fete du Flobart; the parade with the boats being pulled by horses, lovely live music, seafood galore with the sweetest people and families who loved on us for the last three years.

There are great views also down to the beach and to the town of Calais- actually the scenery reminded me of a lot like Ireland, except without the sheer drop at the end. Also the sea is really amazing and you can see the colors are iridescent exactly like Opals and why the coast is called by that moniker. There are tons of great walks also leading to the beach, but I just stayed to the lookout view this time - but hope to be back sometime on another sunny day and do some more walking around this gorgeous headland.
