This is my 1st ever massage so I was expecting there to be deals or specials told to me instead I was just stared at and told "how long" I responded with a confused look on my face saying " ummm I guess 30min" the worker then replies to me saying " how much tip" she says it twice with everyone behind the desk staring at me. so uncomfortably I said "$10" but I don't understand why am being asked for a tip if I haven't even had my service yet because I most DEFINITELY would have tipped $0. I had a strong feeling to leave at this point and not pay at all I wish I would have listened to my instinct. I was then walked into my spa room which again THIS IS MY 1ST TIME I made this very clear when I entered the spa but when I was walked to my spa room I was told nothing but a gesture hand pat on the spa bed. I was then left standing in the corner of the spa room wondering if I take off just my shirt or do I take everything off but leave the under garments on or do I take nothing off and just lay face down?. These are things that should be told to a client especially if they state they are new to this. I had my massage person peeking through the curtains to see if I was done I then opened the curtains to ask what am I supposed to be doing she then say" take off, lay down" and leaves I understand there is a language barrier but I was still left so confused at this point I am taking my shirt and bra off wondering if this is what she even meant? The massage person then walks in as I'm literally taking off my bra and she can see I am taking off my bra but yet she continues to walk in the room and I literally flashed the massage person a couple times while feeling so uncomfortable. The massage person says nothing and just lays a towel on my back the whole time so I'm not sure if I was supposed to even take off my bra. But we get to the massage it was extremely to rough for me I asked multiple times to be more softer please but it only stoped for 3 min and it would be extremely rough again. LADYS if u have Nexplanon birth control in ur arm DONT NOT COME HERE the massage person was extremely rough on my arm massage I kept asking to go soft on my arm as my birth control is there. But again not sure if this is a language barrier but it still continued to be so rough to the point where I just potentially asked for her to stop massaging that arm and move to the next please. The whole massage I could not relax at all I wanted it to be done already. but at the end I left and went to my car to check my birth control in my arm and it was sore and swollen around my birth control and that has never happened in 3 years of having it. I now have to make a doctors appointment to get my birth control checked as I am afraid it may be damaged now. This is my experience at this Spa 0/10 would never recommend to anyone not even my worst enemy.

She did take a call during my session, though that's understandable as a small operation. She left the room briefly several times without communicating what was happening, so I wasn't sure at first if my time was already over or what. I was prepared to tip 5-10, depending on service. Ultimately went to 12 (20%) because the kinks felt really worked out. She commented "is that all?" but I said 12 on 60 IS a good tip and she seemed mollified and chuckled it off.

She seemed incredibly hesitant to apply any pressure to actually get anything worked out, even when I pointed directly to a problem area. I would not recommend this place for those who prefer firmer pressure. Edit: Michelle was super fast in getting back to me which I appreciate. She offered me an appointment with an alternative massage therapist, which I've taken her up on. Very good customer support. For me, I usually prefer lighter strokes so I avoid male therapists or make sure to advise this - Marvin did an excellent job following my preference and checking in with me to make sure that I was well. Marvin's business is inside a very well-kept professional center, so you can go in the back entrance and it's super easy to find. Everything is in one office, so you'll complete your intake and the massage in the same room. The temperate, noisy level and ambience were all as expected and I did not have any problems with these items throughout. Bathrooms are located nearby for before or after the appointment. The only item that was slightly disappointing was regarding the time spent on particular areas. I seek massage for overuse due to sports officiating, and I've been getting massages for years so I know exactly where the time is best spent. I generally request that the massage therapist limit time on the upper back and skip stomach, neck, face, and arms. The only minor complaint I had was that we spent nearly 10+ minutes on the upper back. Seems minor, but for me it's a valuable 10 minutes that could have been spent on the lower body where I needed it. I know I mentioned on the intake form, but I also could have/should have mentioned it during the session. I'm usually minimal conflict, but I'm sure if I would have addressed it, Marvin would have fixed it. I have no doubt because everything else was wonderful and well taken care of. For that reason, I did not deduct any rating for this. It's a good lesson for others getting massages - it's your time. Make sure you are vocal about what you want and feel free to request corrections during the session if it's not meeting your expectations.
