And then she told my client that she would surely not travel 60 miles round trip to cover her herself... Along with more disheartening words...I had called her boss Dave in Reno explaining the situation, and he showed very little concern for my client and said they just can't help her... I've personally been in this business for over 30 years, and have to say I've never been more discusted in the behavior of people for whom we should feel encouragement from for help for our loved ones... NOT discust and discouragement... This company is full of VERY disorganized, untrained and uncompassionate people that seem to only be in it for the bottom line... Therefore I cannot even give them 1/2 star... I had to put 1 star although, or I couldn't post. I also have a couple friends that had worked for them in the past, and they both say similar things.

Kait set up an appointment with Bob, the owner, to meet with us to discuss our needs and concerns and let us know he would get back to us after working with the scheduler, Heather, to let us know if they could staff the hours that we needed. Bob also reviewed the costs and the company's expectations of us as clients. I have read some of the complaints and feel they are unfounded. Businesses can't survive if they don't protect themselves. Comfort Keepers works very hard to assign and schedule caregivers that can meet the needs of each patient and they deserve respect if and when service needs to be cancelled. I personally worked with each caregiver to make sure they were comfortable with my mother-in-law and that my mother-in-law accepted them in her home. Each and every one of the care givers were well trained, kind, and respectful. The situation was challenging, and they were all wonderful! I have nothing but respect for this company and the people they hire. The care givers told me that they truly love working for Comfort Keepers because they offer excellent training, and they are treated well. Someone else will be here or it will not be at the time set up. If you complain and are upset, it seems to negate their responsibility and they take an defensive position. I am the one who is to be understanding, these things cant be helped, well maybe we are not a good fit for each other. There are the responses I get. If you really need someone to relieve you, give you the help you need on a regular basis, then I would look elsewhere folks. So why do I consider myself lucky? So glad you asked! Because I am one very satisfied customer. I had the opportunity to use their services again and I am still very satisfied. It is a bit daunting to have strangers come into your home when you are feeling a bit vulnerable anyway. On both occasions, all the health care providers were friendly, competent and completely professional. I really liked that the same person comes each time and they really take the time to talk and listen and work with their clients. They all treated me like an intelligent, competent adult. Both PT's pushed me to challenge myself to increase my mobility and independence, while honoring my wussyness. Both Nurses provided me with the information I needed to make informed decisions about my health and guided me in what I needed to do help with my healing. The first time I had some questions about the billing I had received from them. The people in the business office answered all my questions completely and helped make clear what was co-pay and what was part of my deductible. I really like that the company has a 24 hour help line if I have any questions or concerns between visits. This was extended to me both times after I had been discharged from direct services. So, while I hope I never have need of their services, if I do, and if I have a choice, I would most definitely use them again.
