OK, so time for some honesty, I'm not a huge Car enthusiast (at least I wasn't). I know, I know, a guy whose mojo doesn't get going as soon as he sees smooth curves, candy apply red gloss and hears the purr of an engine akin to a very loud kitty. I'm sorry, but to me this all is kinda boring... and I think it stems mostly from the fact of likely never being able to afford an exotic car makes it unattainable so therefore I reason, why lust after one? Right... RIGHT? I always thought there was something wrong with me... a deficiency in what makes a guy a guy. That macho-machismo thrill, that need for speed, that male essence that can only be defined by Tim Allen grunting at the top of my lungs. Then my wonderful girlfriend bought me a pass for the iCar experience for my 30th birthday and i thought, well heck, this is kinda cool, I'm looking forward to this. So "race day" comes (last Friday), as the sun began to hang low in the sky over top of Woodbine racetrack, I stepped out of the comfort of my Jeep and into the front seat of a LAMBORGHINI GALLARDO LP560. As I entered the car my backside went closer to the ground than a back-up dancer in the music video for Get Low. At the same time, as I sank lower into my seat, I felt a tingle... it started low and from somewhere deep inside of me and gradually got bigger and bigger and moved to my stomach, down to my toes and up into my chest making my breath come out faster and my heart beat louder and louder into my ears... Just when this new testosterone rush was hitting a crescendo, my instructor, a hulk of a man, entered the vehicle and welcomed me to the iCar experience and told me I was about to have a blast. I think my testosterone levels hit an all new high and my beard and chest hair grew 3 inches each instantly, GRUNT GRUNT GRUNTTTT here we gooooooooooo! My first half lap was a tad cautious, (you tend to get like that when you're in control of a vehicle worth more than your home), but the car, I named her Alexis, sensed my apprehension and began to handle and adapt to me with such ease that I felt like I was born to drive her. Midway through the first lap I hit straight away and dropped the hammer like I've never done before, plastering my instructor and I to the seats like we were taking off in apollo 12. I hit the first pin turn with precision accuracy not even touching the break while still going over 100 km/h and then proceeded to drop the hammer again on the next straight away. My laps soon ended, as I had 2 included in the price, but because of some scheduling delays, the staff at iCar awarded me and extra lap. When I pulled back into the start area and parked my car, my instructor thanked me for a fabulous ride and even told me and again to my girlfriend waiting on the side line like a sexy race-car drivers wife, that I gave him his fastest laps of the day and was a natural behind the wheel. GUSH!!!!! It's been almost a week and driving my comfortable Jeep just isn't the same anymore. I miss the adrenaline rush like a heroin addict misses their drugs, now I find myself thinking of other ways that I can feed this speed craving. I think the only solution will be to buy one my own some day, so if you're looking for me, I'll be on my computer scanning autotrader for deals on used Lambos and Ferraris. VROOM VROOM!!! read more

Quite expensive for a drag strip that is not sticky. Also, not alot of room to brake and slow down after a drag race. A friend of mine went lapping in his car. Because his car was an older model he was met with very cold attitude and laughed at; although his car is very well built and suited to this type of track-day racing. The staff were quite unprofessional. He suffered a mechanical issue and the staff acted like it never happened on a track-day ever before (usually mechanical issues are a common occurrence in racing). They asked him not to bring his car again and got laughed it even though his was one of the faster cars on the circuit that day. Moral of the story, if you do not fit the ''clique'' or have an expensive car or what's accepted as the norm for a track-day car, you will not be greeted warmly and or treated well. Came here with a bunch of coworkers for our summer event and we had a great time with the Go-Kart Championship!!! Huge outdoor track with solid Go-Karts able to hit high speeds and maneuver well. The track is well designed as it promotes some nice competition between participants. The championship was separated between practice, qualifications and the main race. People were super excited and loved it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The helmets/go-karts were in good condition. Would have been a 5 stars except for the whole check-in/paying options, their WI-FI was bad and very slow. Their payment system went down and I had to go through several rounds to get the payment complete. Staff was patience and used to this but between you and me, this shouldn't happen. Paid to have my racing experience filmed because they wouldn't allow me to use my own Gopro. After the 4 laps they told me that the recording function didn't work. They charged almost $100 to film it and get a digital photo, and now it didn't record. Their solution was to give me 1 more lap filmed. I explained the whole point of paying for and filming 4 laps was to see the times and if I would improve. Doing 1 lap really only gave me a 40 second souvenir that cost almost $100 and no info at all. The cars are in extremely rough shape, the track is incredibly short, about 40 seconds a lap and on top of it all the instructor said I couldn't use manual mode with the flappy paddles, and had to stay in automatic. Seriously?? This 19 year old kid is telling me he's worried I may hit the wrong paddle and break the car so I have to leave it in automatic mode. So although the idea of ripping around a racetrack in a 458 sounds amazing, the people at Icar managed to ruin just about every aspect of the day. read more

This was an amazing activity. It was only a couple minutes, but worth doing once. The only thing that would have been better would be a long straight away track where you can feel the acceleration for longer. Locations in Montreal and Toronto area (Woodbine Racetrack). I'm not a car guy, but 2km driving a Lamborghini LP560 was a blast! read more

Very disappointing experience with the way the event is run, I arrived with my family 30 minutes prior to my paid appointment time as was instructed. We sat for over 2 hours before our actual driving appointment time. The passenger was very rude and did not allow me to drive the car fast at all, practically yelling at me trying to tell me how to drive. I would not recommend this to anyone, very disappointing experience. read more

Horrible company to do business with. Had the "experience" booked for Cayuga Speedway last year in October. Weather was cold and rainy.. just enough that the track was too wet. "No problem" they say, just call us in the spring to reschedule. So I do...wanting a day in July, August or September. Rather than a summer schedule, they have the same weekend in October. I ask for a refund. Could be years before that is a nice weekend. They lie and tell me that last year they had the same weekend and it was really nice!!! I WAS THERE. It wasn't. So are they lying about how safe the vehicles are? They say no refunds. Seriously - when we bought the "experience" it looked like there were events every month. One a year! And they do not tell you when that is until you buy. There are much nicer events available with the same or better cars. Ultimateexotics looks good.. too bad I only found them as a result of getting ripped off by this group. read more

Underwhelming. Was expecting an actual race track not a parking lot with pilons set up. You could tell the Lamborghini had been through tough times. Raced around everyday for who knows how many years. I get more power and acceleration out of my mustang. read more

Very professionally run (especially considering it's a temporary set-up and they are based in Montreal). Organized check-in, brisk but informative 15-min classroom run-through of fundamentals. I was quite impressed with all aspects of the "experience". My only caveat is that two laps in a car (in my case, a Lamborghini Gallardo) is only enough to get you warmed up. Blink and it's over ; ) ; ). But, a lot of fun for wannabe exotic car owners. Recommended. read more
