So off I waddled along the road - opposed to the twenty minute walk to my Hair Design usual. As mentioned above, the venue is nice, clean and well presented. It has a lovely atmosphere, the prices are reasonable and the staff are really friendly, quick and efficient. Though, I only had a trim in here - good as it was - so will need to get back to you with an update as to how they are with a proper chop and/or dye job.

On the spur of the moment I got an appt. yesterday 13th Nov and wow what a lovely ambience, friendly and welcoming salon and a great cut and blow dry!! A bit more expensive than where I have been trying but worth every penny!! I have already booked for my colour next month and hopefully will be a regular customer. I've been going to this hairdressers for just under a year now, after having had a succession of terrible, over-priced hairdressers who, not matter what you said, never cut your hair the way you wanted. I have my hair done by Jenny, an absolutely gorgeous young hairdresser who is wise beyond her years! Not only is she talented and capable, but she's friendly and attentive! From the moment I walk in, to the moment she's waving me out the door, the conversation is flowing! On the one occasion I had my hair done by someone other than Jenny, the girl went above and beyond to create an authentic 1940s vintage do for me, as I was heading to a party later that night! I have never left with a haircut or blow-dry I haven't loved, and I think this much under-rated hairdressers deserves to be so much more busy than it currently is.

The homey, comfortable atmosphere is greatly enhanced by the pleasant, friendly and extremely chatty staff. Furthermore, they provide a good, quick service at a decent price. Offering threading or waxing, I opted for the latter being "old school." Recently opened by two sisters, I was impressed by their expertise and the outcome. Clean, comfy, reasonably priced & friendly, I can see me becoming a regular here and without a hard sell I'm very tempted to try their lash service for my next special evening event. There is talk of branching into spray tans & blow dries, making it a great pre-party one stop shop.

They are really good at understanding what it is that you want done and the quality of finish is great. They are also happy to go through what they are doing styling-wise step by step, so you can re-create it better at home. If you go in for a colour they are very meticulous about it and are very good at advising about whether a particular shade would suit you in terms of skin tone etc, so there is little chance of a costly or embarrassing mistake. I would thoroughly recommend this hairdressers and they are good value as well.

This branch is fresh, clean and not stuffy like other branches of Bodycare. The staff are nice and friendly and the prices are excellent. On a recent visit I stocked up on my favourite Pears soap, some bubble bath, a fresh linen room spray and some L'Oreal shampoo at a bargain price. Excellent.

It's a unisex hairdresser that's been there for years under various names but everyone in the area has always called it "The Big Windae" on account of the shop front being exactly that - a big windae. About two years ago the current owner, Boab, took over and decided that was the perfect name for it. He's given it a refurb, with bright furnishings, a sofa that you just sink into and even a fridge full of beers for the gents at the weekend. Recently they've brought in beauticians to do everything from nails to massage and a make up artist on the weekends. Primarily I go here to get my hair done by Jade. I've honestly never had anyone do my colour better than her. She's taken me from brown to copper/blonde ombré in one sitting and this week she's covered up the ombré to give me a full head tint in copper. She spends a lot of time thinking about the perfect way to get the colour to develop so you're not left with big patches of faded colour and the results are always incredibly. She also always throws in a wee conditioning treatment which, when your hair is as thick and long as mine, is a godsend. The place has a lot of character and charm, with loads of staff and regulars having that usual "hairdressers" chat. You know the kind - neighbourhood gossip, life stories etc. It's always bustling and it's a credit to the great care and attention they give to every single client. This seems to be THE place to go for boys in Easterhouse to get their hair done too and that is totally down to the way Boab has transformed the place. The barber side of the salon is ALWAYS busy no matter when I'm in. They're great value for money too, with a full head tint, cut and blow dry coming in at under £60. An eyebrow wax and tint also comes in at a very thrifty £8 and Roseanne is just brilliant at getting the perfect shape. It's a great wee place in an unexpected location and somewhere I'm always happy to pay a visit to.
