I was referred to them by HP to order recovery media for my laptop. Michael answered the phone and was extremely rude. He told me that I should go their website to place an order if I want to save money. I told him that I'd rather do it over the phone and asked if they could overnight it. He said that I can only do it online if I want faster shipping. Michael acted that I was bothering him and he didn't want my business. I ended up hanging up the phone frustrated and placing my order on the website only to get a call from Michael shortly letting me know that he canceled my order. read more

Not recommended! High risk that the recovery disks will not work, especially after a Windows 10 "upgrade"! I have used Computer Surgeons MANY times in the past. Until recently, I could say nothing bad about them. But since April 2018, I have had problems with four out of four (4/4) recovery disks sets provided by them to me or my friends who needed recovery repairs after Windows 10 screwed up their systems, and would not boot. The first system was an HP desktop model p6687c recovery kit purchased 4/2018. I was told I needed to send the machine in for them to fix. Not a possibility! So I rebuilt the system from the Windows 7 license key and drivers on the HP website. The second problem system was an HP desktop model 8000 Elite recovery kit purchased 7/2018. I was again told to send the machine in for them to fix. Not a possibility! So I again rebuilt the system from the Windows 7 license key and the drivers on the HP website. The third problem system was an HP All-In-One desktop model 23-b440xt in July 2018. Same problem that the disks came back and said "system recovery disks do not support this computer". Once again, because time was of the essence I rebuilt the computer using HP/Microsoft license keys and drivers from the HP website. Finally, I recently had a friend order the kit for an HP model p6510f. Once again I got the "system recovery disks do not support this computer". So I called and talked with Josh who claimed that the system board "tattoo" must be the problem and I would have to send the machine in to them. Apparently if the BIOS is rewritten and changes the system board "tattoo" the recovery disks you receive will not work and you will need to send the system into Computer Surgeons. That kinda defeats the purpose of the recovery kits... So I am abandoning Computer Surgeons for any future purchases, because if all it takes is a BIOS upgrade, which could run automatically with HP and Windows 10 updates, then the recovery kits are virtually worthless! Especially if you want to go back to Windows 7 after Windows 10 upgrade, update, and crash problems! ...And after Windows 10 deletes your HP Windows 7 recovery partition when you "upgrade" (or DELL or other...), BTW without advising you of this deletion (and loss of value) so that you can never go back to Windows 7 factory image, you can only go back to Windows 7 by reinstalling the operating system and all the applicable device drivers. Unless, of course, you want to send the computer into Computer Surgeons with all the associated packing, shipping and expense hassles. read more

I had been using them for five years until the technician ruined the mother board. He was supposed to replace a cracked computer screen but instead rendered my laptop completely useless. Worse yet, the owner was rude and unapologetic. We're going to small claims court soon where I'm sure the judge will find in my favor. I urge potential customers to go ANYWHERE but here! read more

Josh and his associates have served as my computer specialists for over 10 years. From the computer that we purchased from them to helping fix any problems, they have never failed. Established in 1996.

Computer Surgeons was founded by Michael Griebe. Michael taught at Woodford County High School and then was a Professor at Midway College. Computer Surgeons was founded to provide a need in the community of Versailles to repair computers, install networks, phone support and install new computer systems.

I took my MacBook Air to Hartland to have the keyboard replaced; one of the key caps had come off…read moreand simply no longer worked. I also took in a older MacBook Pro that would no longer boot up. When I got my computers back (at more than $200) things were fine -- for about a month or so. The trackpad on the Air stopped working and the cursor frequently moved on its own. I took it to the Apple Store and they replaced the trackpad. The cursor problem got worse. Back at the Apple Store again, they said that the back of the computer did not match the top of the computer -- the serial numbers didn't match and evidently the trackpad didn't fit correctly when it was replaced by Hartland. The cursor issue was also caused because the back had been replaced by a back that didn't match. I ended up having to buy a new MacBook Air; the Apple Store did credit me for the trackpad they replaced but I was still out a lot of money because of what Hartland did. I guess they figured it didn't matter if they used cheap or substitute parts. Or maybe they just don't want to repair computers any longer. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Frankly, with my medium computer knowledge, I considered tehis Recovery Kit a financial "gamble", but I had ALREADY put out more money than you requested. I am amazed that I have a "brand new" computer (obviously an older model!) and all the accessory stuff that originally came with it! It's a little trip down memory lane for me to have it back in its original configuration as it has been running FreeBSD for the past nine years and I long ago lost the original QuickRestore media.
