Update: the Irish breakfast is a pretty good choice. All the standards (including beans, and black, and white pudding). Definitely worth a try if you're looking for a hearty start for your day. ----------- Crowded and extremely noisy (on a Friday night). Only a few Irish selections on the menu (seems to be a common issue with so-called "Irish" pubs). Apparently everyone else is here for the company and the beer. And live music. I suppose that's what pubs are for, after all. Maybe I need to get out more. There are some good Irish beers on tap (Guinness, Harp, Smithwick's), so that's good. The fish and chips are okay, but not the best. Served hot from the fryer, but the fries are thin cut (American style?) and a bit limp (not at all crispy). Gotta ask for malt vinegar, but the server might disappear for a while. Fish is piping hot and crispy on the outside, flaky inside. Tartar sauce is unusual, with a tangy, almost sour note. But it's pretty good. Three stars - not a cozy pub to enjoy with a pal, and the "chips" need to be de-Americanized. But it's not bad. read more

You might think that this place would lack Irish street cred because it's on the parkway. You'd be sadly mistaken. If you know anyone actually from the island they go here. If they have an accent they go here. The food is truly excellent. It's been a while since I've been but a few years back I think I'd tried everything on the menu at least once. Came here for dinner tonight to celebrate two family birthdays. We called ahead and they had our table waiting for us when we arrived. Service was excellent. We ordered a few apps to share (hummus, poutine fries and the special shrimp). All very good! I had the beet and goat cheese salad with blackened salmon added. Oh no is right. Unfortunately, the Brussels sprouts were soggy and greasy...so much so that I had to use a paper towel to soak up the grease because they were still too greasy after I poured out oil. The flatbread was dry and cold with barely any ingredients on it. The chicken was sparse and overcooked, and the bacon was overdone and tooth breakingly charred. All the food was cold. Eating cold cheese, cold, dry chicken, burnt bacon, cold, dry flatbread, cold greasy kielbasa, and cold, greasy vegetables was terribly unpleasant, so I threw most of it in the trash. I have been to Con Murphy dozens of times and have never had a bad experience. This order was take out and almost the same as I had eaten a couple of days before. I was upstairs at the Windsor Suites and got a notification more than 30 minutes after I placed my order from the same building. No wonder the food was cold. It sat there at the front door for too long. I am not usually one to complain when things are not perfect, but this was a major fail. read more

Shrimp risotto is actually to die for... seriously... who knew an Irish pub could do it like that. The drinks are obviously decadent, the staff are all so friendly and fun (shoutout to my girl Wynn, she's the best).... all that to say I do also go back at least once a month for the shrimp risotto alone... We live in the neighborhood and this is one of our go to places for friendly staff and constantly terrific food. Legitimately the best chicken tenders I've ever had. The are homemade and so crunchy and fabulous plus the order is huge. You just can't eat them all. The potato soup is excellent, as is their Rubin, French dip, and Smashburger. The salads are enormous. Great beer selection. You really can't go wrong. We've been here once for brunch, which is very good too. I can't understand anyone who doesn't like it here. read more

I came here one day to try their iced coffee since it's supposed to be very good and boy is it! It's so easy to completely inhale these with little effort. There are two flavors and since I couldn't decide, I got both! I got the Standard Iced Coffee and bailey's iced coffee. If you like you iced coffee with a touch of sweetness definitely go with the Baileys iced coffee. It's not super sweet. It's just right. The standard iced coffee has no sweetness to it. It's simple, delicious, and to the point. I highly recommend them both. read more

Went here today to in the hopes of watching the women's soccer game. Phillies were playing at the same time so was not hopefully. The staff got us set up upstairs with the game on and with sound. Service was top tier, food was delicious, staff were very friendly. Best bar experience in a very long time. Highly recommend stopping by here. read more

This has been a standby in the neighborhood for years. They built a nice outdoor structure for covid and we decided to go and check it out. Service was friendly enough. Portions seem to be small in general and I had a cheesesteak that had about half the amount of meat on it I would have liked. It is good enough though for a local bar. read more

Server Erica was not attentive and when I complained about the food, was greeted by the rudest manager I've ever come into contact with in my life. When we complained about the food after only taking a single bite Liam stated "they've been making it the same way for 15 years" "just keep eating it". They refused to take it off of our bill, as to say the all orders are final regardless of if you enjoyed their food or not. Like everyone should have the same taste and consume their meals. We finished the Love Run and were looking forward to good food. When we arrived, the folks at the front desk were rude when we inquired about being seated. They told us we could go upstairs to the bar, but there was no seating available there. We settled for some outdoor tables. They had outdoor heaters but turned them on very recently. The table-side heater was not powerful enough for such a cold day. We waited a long time to get our waters and drinks. At this point we contemplated getting coffees and leaving afterwards but decided to stay since we were so hungry. The fries were good. Coffee was decent. The rest of the food was very mediocre. My sister's toast was burnt to a crisp and they decided to hide that by covering the toast with the rest of the food. One of my friends pulled a hair out of his food. My chorizo frittata had absolutely no flavor. The waitress ended up taking a lot of half-eaten and barely eaten plates. At the end, they added a 20% gratuity automatically that we were blindsided by. Stop in to grab a bite to eat after visiting the franklin institute, we were seated pretty quick and service was fast. They didn't seem to busy at the time due to the time on the weekend as it was in-between lunch and diner. we placed our order and with 10 or so mins the food was coming out. the decor is some what interesting at least, for the sayings written on some of the walls or glass. The drinks were especially good, and everything was fine the food was pretty good, the one thing that stood out to me was the tomato bisque soup, I have never had something so damn good. Very good. Would recommend. They're open late. I think their kitchen closes at 11:00pm. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. I did attempt to get the fish and chips but they ran out :( instead I got the mushroom and spinach flat bread which was really good. My boyfriend got the blue burger and fries. We started with pierogies as an appetizer and I had chicken pot pie for dinner. My husband had chicken tenders, which were fresh breaded tenders and my daughter had a chicken dish. Everything was served in a timely manner and the nice and hot. The Grand Marnier creme brûlée was tasty, but the apple crisp was unremarkable. The apples were too crisp. It didn't disappoint. A nice blend of flavor, a tad on the bitter side which can be expected for the dish especially when fixed with lamb. The mashed potatoes on top were nice and creamy. The appetizers were better than the entrees, and the staff refused any breakfast orders even though we were seated 20 minutes before the breakfast hours were up. One of the people in our party found hair in his meal. Usually if a restaurant is upscale or if you have a large party the staff will inform you that gratuity will be added to the tab automatically, but we had a party of five and found that they had added 20% gratuity without even telling us. Fish and Chips, Irish Stew with beef not lamb and wtf? Brussels Sprouts with Kielbasa? They offer a decent selection of beers to help pass the time. The service was good and ultimately the food was also quite good. I went non-traditional and tried the Crab Cake sandwich with fries. The crab cake was well proportioned and not overly bready. The fries had the skin on and were very good. Both the Shepherd's Pie and Guinness Irish Stew got a thumbs up as did the Burger and Cajun Special and the winner of the night was the Mac n Cheese with Beef Short Rib. read more

Visited this location on my lunch hour on the advice of co-worker for the chicken wings. ordered wings and bottled soda and paid $19 ta. once back at office, discovered soda was not in my prepared bag. called and told employee soda was missing and she said she would deliver it to my work place 2 blocks away. Employee later called back and said Manager told her it was against company policy to deliver food that THEY neglected to add!!!! Is it company policy to provide sub standard customer service???? YOUR mistake, YOUR responsibility to correct!!! SHAME ON YOU!!!!! Although the wings were pretty good, I Will not patronage EVER AGAIN!! Will also advise co-workers to do the same!!!! Excellent steak to lightly fried onion to cheese to roll ratio, with just an insouciant essence of salt and pepper to enhance the flavor, yo. Only American cheese was offered, no whizz, no provolone, no sharpprovolone, but there are other places for those choices, as well as sweet peppers and broccoli rabe... House made chips.
