Zero tolerance for aggressive behavior. The Dr. Needs to apply this to himself.
    Jessi M.

First, the Front desk ladies and CNA were very kind, friendly and helpful. As for the Dr. - well let's just say I heard him reprimand the employee loudly ( I heard it from my assigned room while I waited). Also, only one Dr. For a large facility- Wow- talk about cutting corners to save money. I wonder if this lack of service is because of the clients they serve. Better area equals better service. Front desk service equals 5 stars! I walked out after two hours and others did as well.

I unfortunately was in a situation where I NEEDED to go to cedars because of the complications of my condition. I'd say that if you can go somewhere else you'd probably be seen a bit faster. when I finally was brought out of the waiting room into a bed, it was in a hallway, where I was kept overnight and was finally put into a "room" the next morning at about 9 am. All of the ER tests and things were done in the hallway. Other than the time and the wait. The care I received was second to none. I was given attentive Nurses and doctors who were competent and actually figured out what was wrong with me. Hopefully this review guides you in the right direction.

Today i had to bring my mother to ER. It's under construction so it made the check in inconvenient. We checked in at 10:45 am. Got called in for a bed at 5:52 pm. Then it took about an hour before the doctor stopped by. The doctor ordered a CT scan and lab work. It's 10:05pm and all the tests have been completed. We're waiting for an update. Not quite the service we had in mind from a top notch hospital. I would expect this from a county hospital. There were many people waiting for at least 8 hours including a father and son who were sent by a research group in Honduras to have the son seen by cancer specialists. The son has stage 4 colon cancer. He was waiting alongside my mother! At 10:53 pm the nurse stopped by to let us know my mother is being admitted and the doctor will come by soon to speak with us. There is no need for this type of wait or lack of service. This is bad healthcare.

Usually i dont like that. But today I'm again seeing another thing which is people going about their jobs and filtering out the unnecessary disturbances that are bombarding the place! The yop of the list is slamming of DOORS! In many offices here at 200, no one says anything when a door literally shakes their desk and slams like a bomb. In the quiet waiting area with ppl whispering, it's literally plus 60-70db over ambient. Thats equivalent to someone turning on a stereo full volume by accident. It can happen 5-10 times in one minute as it's a busy place. And you jump! Simple detail adjust door closer with a Phillips screwdriver in like one minute. I have been coming to this building for 14 years and its the same! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL. Maint you should be ashamed of your lazy asses. Admin, If you arent noticing this, you are not concerned with patients. Apparently, doctors techs researchers receptionists being able to concentrate is not high on the list here at UCLA. They have most of us well trained as customers: to expect bad service. update 8/25: I wrote the above between the first and 2nd half of my appointment 8/24/26. To JA below: you pride yourself on latest tech but what about everyday tech? You aren't too concerned. I'm sure it doesn't happen in your office! I was surprised and well validated to see that the 3 stars i randomly chose was HIGHER than the average 2.5 stars you have scored on average of all previous reviews (the ones not filtered out). Who are the People giving you #1 in California, what authority do they have to say that, and what are they looking at when they do? Just another company making money. Incidentally on my visit yesterday, to illustrate what i said above about not getting full explanations, i was told by the tech that there were 3 scans in the process not 2, as various doctors had told me, and that I could do only the first. The tech explained that if i didn't do the 2nd hour scans (he says i was only approved NOT to do one of 3 scans, the cat scan, and leave out the cat scan, and i was supposed to do a 2nd scan i didn't know about. I had been told catscan was the only scan in addition to the first, so they were planning to do 2 MORE, and i had to stay for the 2nd hour anyway to do 1 of the 2. I said, if they need the catscan later, they will have to inject radioactive dye again, right? 'yes' he said. So I said, just do all 3 scans. i think the injection is more concerning than the xrays. So he prooceeded to do all the scans AND THERE WERE FOUR SCANS NOT THREE!!!! What is so f'ing hard about explaining what you are f'ing doing? I want to understand it the way YOU understand it. Not a Gong Show version. Not professional.

During one of the most critical periods of my life, I repeatedly sought treatment at this hospital while my health continued to decline. Instead of feeling heard, I often felt that assumptions were being made about me and the cause of my illness. I felt that it was easier for some providers to attribute my worsening liver condition to partying and alcohol use rather than fully investigating what was actually happening. Eventually, it was discovered that I had autoimmune hepatitis. By the time the correct diagnosis was recognized and I received proper treatment elsewhere, my condition had progressed to the point that I needed a liver transplant. One of the most frustrating parts of my experience involved Dr. Patel. After reporting concerns about the care I was receiving and speaking with management, I was shocked to be assigned to the same physician again when I was later readmitted. That made me feel as though my concerns had not been taken seriously. Another hospital recognized the severity of my condition and provided the care that ultimately saved my life. I will always wonder whether my outcome could have been different if my symptoms and concerns had been taken seriously sooner. I understand that medicine is complicated and that doctors do not always have immediate answers. However, patients deserve to be listened to, treated with dignity, and thoroughly evaluated before assumptions are made about their condition. Three years later, I finally have the strength to share my experience. I hope that anyone facing a serious illness will trust their instincts, advocate for themselves, and seek a second opinion if they feel something is being overlooked. Dr. Taylor was so different from any other physician I've encountered in this sense. She really took the time to get to know me holistically. I didn't feel rushed or like she wasn't listening to me. She asked me about community support that I had in Los Angeles since I recently moved here. She asked me about my relationship with food, not just whether I'm eating enough fruits and veggies. It was a huge paradigm shift from how these annual visits typically go with other physicians. Because of her empathy and care, I felt much more comfortable sharing the factors that contributed to my weight and we discussed plans to work on this in the future. I felt very supported. She made a number of referrals for other issues I was having which made me feel like she was taking my concerns seriously. A small thing that made a big difference for me was that her description on her website says she provides "gender-affirming care" and she was wearing a lanyard with a trans flag on it. I am not transgender myself but having a physician who supports this community is important to me and to be honest, that type of mindset just comes with a level of care and empathy that you don't often see in healthcare unfortunately. Thank you, Dr. Taylor for your care! Very grateful to have established care with her. The medical center more broadly was also very nice. The building were clean, everyone was masked. The nurses and front desk staff were incredibly sweet and answered all my questions. The parking is free for 2 hrs which is great to not have to incur that additional cost. I will definitely try to route all my medical care through Keck in the future. My only issue is the center is BIG! There definitely could have been more instructions as to where to park and how to find my building since there are so many. Luckily I gave myself plenty of buffer time but for all their due diligence to remind us of our appointments, some extra guidance on how to find them would have been greatly appreciated.

While the facilities are undeniably outdated with beds from what looks like the 70s or 80s and little TVs that aren't working (at least in my father's room), it's the staff and the care I'm impressed with. Most of the staff is wonderful. Most of them are dedicated to the comfort and care of the patients. The patients are kept clean, dry, and as comfortable as possible. I can see an effort made to entertain as well as to the little chores we all have to do like manicures and such all on a regular schedule. It is a nice center courtyard floor plan which gives residents a connection with the outside and each other. The floor plan is why I picked this facility as I knew my father would enjoy, looking out and even going out on occasion. It would be nice if the facilities got a little remodeling however, I'm glad they spend their money on the staff and having enough staff, instead of a nice new place with less staff in which patients are neglected or abused. We lucked out because my father got a perfect roomate whose mind is just fine. He keeps an eye on my father and calls the nurse anytime my father forgets and tries to get out of bed which he shouldn't do alone. I do wish the facility would use a pressure pad, either on the floor or bed, that would alert them if a patient was getting up. Overall, this place doesn't smell as bad as many of these facilities do, I believe thanks to the care and attention of the staff. I'm resting easy that my father is being well taken care of. Since insurance is covering this right now, and we haven't gotten a bill yet, I don't know what the value is, however, I am happy I picked these facilities. I would pick them again.
