"Principal" Nicole Walker, seemed to take delight in making her life even harder by expelling her from ALL Ft. Wayne Community Schools. Why? Shambaugh thought it would be a prudent idea to have knives in an unlocked drawer in the "special needs" room, which my daughter accessed. No accountability on Shambaugh's or the abject failure of Principal Nicole Walker. Of which they certainly had a share! It was all laid on my special needs daughter as the sole villain. At the expulsion meeting which I attended, Nicole was very proud that one of her first acts as principal was to expel her from all Ft. Wayne public schools. The good news is "Principal" Nicole Walker is long gone from the district. She took an out of state job. One can only wonder why... But Nicole did manage to stay around long enough to do my daughter permanent damage that followed her into her adult years. Shame on Nicole Walker. Shame on Shambaugh.

Attended because…read morethe course was so highly recommended, but Bob doesn't seem to enjoy teaching, and gets easily frustrated with having to help students understand the material. His license law material is several years outdated, but since he does not write his own questions, he says that's all there is. Bob refused to give credit for correct answers that he marked incorrect according to old answer keys. Many students were confused on what information is current and what will be on the state test, but when they asked questions, Bob either got confused about what they were asking or belittled them for not knowing. Maybe 30 years ago this was a great course, but anymore I would definitely recommend going elsewhere.

With these changes, my daughter has come out of her shell, and is excited to tell me about what she's learning in Ms. Sammi's class (also, my daughter's convinced Ms. Sammi's a princess and I have no reason to disagree!). From the get go things seemed fine, the Director was communicative and the virtual tour was fine. However, day one was horrendous. The center is not new which is fine, the workers are varying levels of engaged. Cleanliness is questionable... Concerns noted for some cooking equipment that was being blocked by a cart, chemicals in reach of kids, but then watching the cameras: the way they workers are swapped out and inconsistent treatment of children. My maternal senses knew something was off by the way my children were acting. Husband picked up our little guy who was off camera in a bathroom with a staff member. Son was screaming in pain. Came home to find markings on his back. Daughter had witnessed mistreatment (also advocated for her own mistreatment!) Case filed, did not return. Be aware.

The only negative review over the course of many years was left by a wealthy mom who was completely…read moredisrespectful to staff and tutors who attempted to bend over backwards to help her children with their educational needs. This client had no regard for respecting an agreed upon schedule (canceling last minute on many occasions) was habitually late expecting tutors to stay past the scheduled time, and would never pay her discounted monthly bill on time if at all. After attempting to work with this demanding and disrespectful client over the course of months, a written notice to discontinue services had to be sent in an attempt to amicably part ways and provide the client notice so that they could secure services elsewhere while advocating for the wonderful tutors who were being taken advantage of. Money was the last motive for Care 2 Learn as pricing was well below industry standards and scholarships were often provided by the five churches that hosted the tutoring services. It's sad to see that a person feels a need to retaliate after someone stands up to her mistreatment to protect my amazing dedicated staff of educators who considered this work as their ministry.

Given my recent experiences with the administration of the Care2 Learn Tutoring company, I would…read morestrongly discourage anyone from utilizing that company for their child. Care 2 Learn's administration states in their advertisement that they are doing their job " for the benefit of the student". I found that to be absolutely incorrect and false. Care 2 Learn's administration's primary objective seems to be to make money at the expense and growth of the child. Its administration is unwilling to cooperate with families or schools in order to provide what is appropriate and in the best interest of the student. Care 2 Learn 's administration will put up an initial front and will appear to be very nurturing for the student; however, I found that, when it comes down to it, the administration will abruptly stop all services if it in any way inconveniences the administration . This leaves the child with no one to help them and believing he/she has done something wrong. This is the absolute opposite effect you want on a child that is already presented with some educational and self worth challenges. Given my experiences, I would reconsider utilizing Care 2 Learn. I have since found, right here in Fort Wayne, many other companies and schools that truly care about the students!

Two dining options daily. Bathrooms in all buildings, not many elevators, though. Only in Loew-Brenn, Dowden, Becker, Roush, RichLyn Library, the HUB, Wright, Miller, Meadows, Merillat Center for the Arts. Still good stuff to do. Fun activities on campus include fishing discs out of Lake SnoTip, skateboarding down the mall, and walking the campus loop backwards. Saturday brunch in the dining hall is a can't miss.
