¡PROTEJAN A SUS MASCOTAS! NO LAS LLEVEN A ESTE LUGAR Mi gato fue por una consulta y terminó con una CIRUGÍA DENTAL COMPLETAMENTE INNECESARIA. Le extrajeron un diente por un DIAGNÓSTICO EQUIVOCADO. La responsable fue una doctora con claramente muy poca experiencia en odontología veterinaria, que además realizó el procedimiento de forma incorrecta. Como consecuencia, mi gato quedó con el nervio expuesto (algo que causa mucho dolor), y comenzó a hincharse cada vez peor. Intenté contactarla de inmediato (ella misma me dijo que podía escribirle si pasaba algo), pero cuando mi gato estaba EMPEORANDO, simplemente evadieron su responsabilidad. Me dijeron que "lo llevara a otro sitio" porque la doctora estaba de descanso. ¿De verdad creen que en medio de una emergencia post-operatoria es lógico esperar TODO un fin de semana? ¡No ofrecieron ningún tipo de apoyo ni solución! Finalmente lo llevé a otra clínica con un especialista dental con años de experiencia, y lo primero que me dijo el doctor fue: "Este gato nunca necesitó esta cirugía." Además, en este veterinario de Condado donde inicialmente lo atendieron, me llegaron a decir que "sospechaban de cáncer", lo cual me llevó a hacerle varios estudios... ¡que resultaron completamente negativos! ¿La causa real del problema de mi gato? Una infección en el oído. Así de simple. Cuando fue tratada correctamente, el gato volvió a estar perfectamente bien. NUNCA TUVO UN PROBLEMA DENTAL. ESTE LUGAR ES SCAM. Mala práctica, diagnósticos incorrectos, falta de ética profesional y una absoluta negligencia con emergencias post-operatorias. NO ARRIESGUEN LA VIDA DE SUS MASCOTAS AQUÍ. This is my dog's regular vet but I am disappointed year on year and now looking to take him elsewhere. The place always smells of urine, the front staff are not at their best, specially the younger ones, and sometimes misplace documents... And last week I was charged twice for a prescription, despite my saying I had already paid for it in April - you can't ever take a prescription with you home without having paid for it yet they charged me again anyway. Very nice front desk staff and excellent doctor. Professional, took care of my emergency , gave meds , answered ALL my questions ( I had a ton ) the doctor was Dr. Dustin Orr. My furry baby is recuperating and I recommend this place 100 percent. Also, please offer kindness and respect if you wish to receive it. A lot of times as a front desk rep, people hover over your desk and have bad attitudes while demanding things to be done asap. Please keep in mind, respect goes both ways. When I took my dog for vaccines and lab work, the service was fine. The appointment went normally, and the staff was friendly. That being said, I had a completely different experience when I went back to have my dog's teeth cleaned. I left him at the vet around 7 in the morning, and received a phone call around 4pm that they had experienced some difficulties. The vet stated that they had been unable to anesthetize my dog, therefor they hadn't done anything. When I went to the office, the vet told me that he couldn't get my dog under, and when he finally got him under, he stopped breathing. He said he wanted to try again when another veterinarian was in. All of that was scary, but I was ok with everything. Still, they charged my the full price of the procedure even though they didn't do anything except nearly kill my dog. Honestly, I would be scared to have them do anything that would require anestesia. Maybe only go here if you need vaccines for your pet. read more

While in San Juan for three weeks, my cocker spaniel developed an ear infection. I called them and they were able to schedule an appt immediately. Everyone was very nice and helpful. I was prepared to use my Google translator but was pleasantly surprised to find that the front desk tech and vet spoke English. Whew!! Turns out Lacey has a double ear infection. They gave her antibiotics and gave me enough to fly home with. This type of antibiotic has to be administered every five days for three weeks. I was prepared to wince at the total cost but was surprised to find that it was very affordable and way within the normal range of what I would pay back home. In fact, I even purchased a box of dental chews for her. We will be returning to the island on 1/1 and have already scheduled a follow up appt with them for 1/2. read more

I called today at 7:30am to get an appointment for a stray dog I'd recently found on the island (I'm visiting from Ohio). Dr. Orr was able to see me immediately, and I was extremely impressed with his professionalism and knowledge about common issues in animal rescue. The other staff members were wonderful as well; they treated Mr. Stray and me with as much care as if we were regular clients. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because Dr. Gabriel Castro was great to deal with and the price of service was very fair, but there were two glaring issues that left me disappointed & frustrated. I took my male cat here a few months ago (in July 2018) as he had developed a urinary tract infection. I've dealt with this issue a couple times before and have learned to catch the symptoms early on in the infection so that I can get him on antibiotics right away. I made an appointment over the phone, told them I needed a prescription for Clavamox (common antibiotic; needs a vet prescription), and brought my cat in the next morning. Despite being a new customer (I reside in PR part-time), they were accommodating with having my vet back in the States email them my cat's medical records to avoid getting charged extra. This was super cool of them and I totally appreciate that. Dr. Castro and his vet tech (darker skinned woman) were very good in handling my cat and not dismissive at all when I told them I had experience with this issue in the past. They suggested I do a urinalysis (which needed to be sent to a third party for testing) to determine the extent of the infection, and gave us a prescription of the required antibiotic. Overall, the visit went smoothly and I don't feel like I was charged the "Condado gringo tax" -- the price I paid was very fair. No complaints! (My cat was better after a few days on medication and he was back to his normal self.) The issues I did have were: 1. I never received a follow-up regarding the urinalysis, despite being told the Dr. would give me a call once the results were in. Which brings me to... 2. I stopped by a few months later in October 2018 on a Monday afternoon to inquire about local pet sitters and at the same time, get the results from my cat's urinalysis. The younger receptionist girl at the front desk was AN ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE to deal with. AY DIOS MIO HOLY SHHHH...!!! SHE WAS SOOOO RUDE!!! Basically told me to F off as if I wasn't a customer, refused to look up my records, refused to help me in any way all the while chewing gum & twirling her hair like a ditzy brat!! It wasn't until I ran into the vet tech--the darker skinned woman that originally helped me on my 1st visit--that I actually got a print-out of the urinalysis test results. She told me that the Dr. would give a call later that day to discuss. To date, I *STILL* have not received any follow-up communication regarding the test results. I ended up scanning the single results sheet I did get and posted it on Reddit hoping some vets would be able to take a look, and give me some advice. Thankfully my cat is seemingly healthy & OK. I'd be happy to update this review if I ever receive any sort of follow-up, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm certainly not going back there to deal with Ms. Bratty Attitude front desk girl and hesitate to recommend this vet to anybody in the Condado area on account of my experience. read more

I brought my cat in for a simple nail trim. The two young girls handling her put a leather muzzle on her even though I insisted she did not need it, she's never bitten or hurt anyone. They then cut one of her nails too short and caused it to bleed. My cat was howling and to my horror the girls INSISTED that bleeding was "normal." When you trim your nails are you supposed to cut them so short it bleeds? If you think the answer is yes, you've lost your mind. And you most certainly have no business working at a veterinary hospital. Please do not take your pets to this place, they clearly do not think animals have feelings or know the first thing about caring for animals. Visited recently. Very good doctors but I have mix feelings about the staff ( not very friendly or eager to assist) and the facilities, are dark and totally outdated. Overall customer service needs attention. The staff needs to be more engaging and attentive. They do not seem to enjoy working there.
