My husband has been going to this eye place for several years with the same vision and medical insurance. Earlier this year [Feb 2022] he went for his annual eye exam. We got a bill [Sept 2022] and immediately I knew something was wrong because we get an annual exam each year covered 100% under our vision insurance. So I called the billing phone number on the bill and after several attempts to speak with someone I finally got a person. Discovered they billed medical and not our vision insurance. The rep I spoke with put in a request to rebill our vision. Which she did. Then I got the EOB from our vision insurance [Nov 2022] that they denied the claim because the Dr office used the wrong codes. This morning I tried to call the billing number again and it's now been disconnected. So we called the direct number to the office and spoke with Dee-anne who basically said they no longer take vision insurance. OK THAT WOULD OF BEEN GREAT TO KNOW BACK IN FEB 2022 WHEN MY HUSBAND CHECKED IN FOR HIS EYE EXAM APPOINTMENT!!!!!! Dee-anne basically said, "too bad it's not our problem we didn't tell you we don't accept vision insurance!" STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE THEY SUCK! read more

The ophthalmic surgeons are uniformly great, but their billing practices are absolutely abominable. They keep sending the wifey the exact same billing statement over and over again - one that was paid long ago. Their admin is operated by a call center in the Philippines (!?!) and it takes days to "get someone responsible" on the phone. When asked, the reception staff smiles and says "it's the decision of the practice" - to outsource representation to another continent. Just incredible. read more

I would like to warn others about making an appointment with this office, my family has been seeing Dr. Toor since 2001 and this year I received invoices from services this year and last year because my medical insurance was billed instead of my usual VSP insurance which I have used in the past. I have been trying to reach someone about it since Feb. this year with no luck in getting answers. It seems odd that without notification my medical insurance was billed and not just for a recent visit but also for last year visits. It doesn't seem right. I am still working on trying to get answers but this has been a very time consuming and very frustrating. read more

I would have rated this higher but the wait time I felt was excessive. I waited 25 minutes to get into the exam room. The test was completed and I waited another 30 minutes for the doctor. Besides the wait, I felt the staff was helpful and friendly. Dr. Toor was very personable. She was very thorough with the results and recommendations. read more

I had been having issues seeing for awhile now and saw Dr Corwin and was diagnosed with cataracts.It took about a month from the beginning of the process to have surgery and my results are remarkable. I had the panoptix trifocals lens put in and it is awesome. No more reading glasses and distance is already 20/20 after 1 week. Staff is rude and Lazy .it's obvious they hate to move around and get up to look after patients.

Both my boys see Dr. Toor. Cannot imagine a more knowledgeable, friendly, or helpful ophthalmologist. It's shocking that she is able to complete a full exam so nimbly on my wiggly 2 year old and my cranky 8 year old. My kids see a host of specialists at Children's Hospital, who wanted to send one of the boys to one of their eye docs and I refused because I knew there was no way they would exceed Dr. Toor's expertise. In fact, out of all the specialists my sons see (in 13 different medical specialities, no joke), I would place Dr. Toor in my top 4 favorite doctors (and for the most part, we really do have a truly exceptional team across the board). We have to drive 36 miles one way to see most of them but Dr. Toor is literally less than a mile from my house. Could not recommend any more highly. read more

I have an eye infection of some sort (probably blepharitis) that seems pretty intractable. While it hasn't been solved, I have gone to multiple places to try to deal with it, and Dr. Corwin has been the most helpful and worked the hardest to deal with it. I definitely recommend him. read more

Everyone hates going to the Doctor. Not me! The staff in Simi is GREAT. They are so much fun. They really make you feel welcomed and important. Dr. Toor is as good of an eye doctor as there is ANYWHERE and a lot better than most. She treats you like family. She is so kind, understanding and loving. And, does she ever know her STUFF! Dr. Martidis is an excellent ophthalmologist with a solid professional manner. I first saw him for a severe infection that had lodged under the retina of my right eye. Working in conjunction with an infection specialist, Dr. Martidis literally saved the vision in my eye performing three separate and very necessary surgical procedures. I could not have hoped for a better result or a more satisfactory experience during what was a very stressful period. After saving my right eye, Dr. Martidis performed surgery on my left eye to correct an ongoing problem and again achieved a great result.
