(Fun fact: they studied with one of the founders of Knead Doughnuts!) Cons: -Pricey ($3+/donut) -- Vanilla Glazed Brioche ($3.00) Top pick! Plain glazed brioche donut that's fluffy and buttery but not super heavy or oily. The glaze is sweet but not overly so. Would definitely get this again. Oreo Old Fashioned ($3.25) Old fashioned chocolate cake donut with Oreo frosting and Oreo crumble on top. This donut had a crispy exterior and a soft interior but it was fairly dry. However, it did remind me a lot of an Oreo given that Oreos themselves are pretty dry. Chocolate Dipped ($3.25) Chocolate brioche donut dipped in dark(?) chocolate and topped with chocolate shavings. Very subtly sweet--less so than the Vanilla Glazed--so might be a good pick for those who don't like super sweet desserts. However, it's a bit messy and the dough itself doesn't taste like chocolate to me. Boston Cream Long John Yeast donut with chocolate icing, chocolate shavings and supposedly filled with Bavarian cream(?) The dough was soft and buttery like the others, but the cream was strange. Great first visit. Store has a great location right on Route 44. Our first visit. Nice clean store with plenty of tables. The display of daily donuts all looked great. Went with the Oreo chocolate donut. Great chocolate cake donuts with a very fresh and generous layer of Oreo cookie bits and filling on top. This review is based on my visit in February for the #BestDonutsRI competition.     Confectionery Designs specializes in cakes and baked goods for weddings and special events, but they do offer some donuts and pastries at the shop!   We arrived after 8:30am when they opened. The parking lot is small, but service is quick so it isn't an issue.   They have a new donut menu each month, and the display is a wall holding the donuts, which is easy to read. We chose the Blackberry Violet Raised Donut and the Chocolate Oreo Old Fashioned.   The Blackberry Violent Raised is a soft donut that bounces back. The glaze is made from fresh berries, so its sweetness is natural! The Chocolate Oreo Old Fashioned was dense with flavor, in a good way!   The location is a bit of a drive for us, but their donuts are worth the trip! read more

If you want to find the world's best pastry and service, come here. This is my second time coming and the owner is fantastic. She is a very busy lady, but always finds time to talk to the customers and make them feel important. The pastry is beautiful and delicious. I had the savory tomato cheese danish and so did my husband. The coffee is the best anywhere! I took a piece of carrot cake home along with a chocolate chip cookie a maple crunch donut, and yes, another tomato cheese danish. I caught this little shop out of the corner of my eye one day while riding my bicycle in Rehoboth. When I got home, I looked it up and saw so many wonderful reviews that I decided to add it to one of my Culinary Cycling Cruises I had planned for the following week. Very rarely will I add a place I've never tried before the ride, but I had a feeling that my friends and I would not be disappointed. And we were not! The shop itself is small and the selection isn't overwhelming. Which is a good thing. I'd rather see a bake shop concentrate on a smaller selection of pastries that they've mastered, than to have abundant choices that are fair to middling in taste and appearance. Confectionery Designs definitely gets high marks from me and my friends on this point. Everything we ordered looked and tasted outstanding! There were a couple of tables inside and tables outside on the porch. The girl behind the counter was friendly and patient with us as we perused the pastry case. I will definitely be returning to this shop on future cruises so I can turn others onto it. They're only open 2 days a week, so make sure you check their website before you decide to go there. read more

Wow - can't believe how good these donuts are! Located on 44 in Rehoboth, if you drive too fast you'll miss it. Apparently, they only offer donuts on Saturday morning and if you come later in the day, they will most likely be all out. I got there around 11AM and they still had everything except the vanilla (bummer!). I ended up grabbing the Smores, Chocolate Coffee Crumble, Maple Bacon, German Chocolate and Pecan Sticky Buns. Not a donut but my favorite was the Pecan Sticky Buns, ooey gooey pecans just begging to be eaten. Wasn't too heavy and sweet, just absolutely delicious. Surprisingly I really enjoyed these sweet treats more than I expected as I don't have much of a sweet tooth. Next faves were the S'mores and the Chocolate Coffee Crumble. German chocolate had an overflowing mound of coconut (if that's your jam). The Maple Bacon was a tad too much for my taste buds but the bf loved it. I actually prefer these over PVDonuts - which don't get me wrong, are still good, but something about these donuts that just make me wanting to go back for more. Delicious donuts! Great service and extremely easy to pick up from your car given covid 19. They bring the order out to a chair and you can get it on your own - no contact! My favorite donut is the blueberry old fashioned! Closely followed by maple bacon and banana cream filled. They switch up their flavors but I have yet to be disappointed. This place is a must try. My favorite thing at the moment are their mini pumpkin Bundt cakes. They do sell a regular sized version for Thanksgiving. The bundt cakes are so moist and just pure perfection. They also sell donuts Wednesday through Saturday and I would make it a point to go and get a few! My Husband and I tried their donuts today. In short, they are delicious! I had the key lime filled donut which was a yeast raised donut. The key lime filling was perfectly tart and the donut itself was yummy. The filling amount was ample. I had plenty for every bite without it exploding all over the place. My favorites are the cinnamon rolls (giant, fluffy, buttery, cinnamon-y & slathered with icing,) the french macarons (salted caramel and vanilla are my top choices.) and the donuts. Oh, the donuts! Brown butter pecan, lemon meringue, classic vanilla, I love the brioche donuts, my husband loves the cake donuts. Without a doubt, my absolute favorite donut place probably ever! I've been several times and the flavors, which they change each month, always so creative. That they manage to get such strong and vibrant flavors into their donuts is really impressive. You have to check this place out.. Mark has the wildest flavored TRUE CAKE and TRUE BRIOCHE donuts. He came by my kitchen yesterday to bring me a sample of a Smore's type. I know people made this type before but not like this guy, A CAKE/Graham donut with Real Chocolate and a Toasted Marshmallow topping. I am not really a big sweet person but this was outrageous in flavor, not overly sweet like PVD and I had only 1 wanted another lol.
