My friend wanted to come here for her birthday. We dined in on a Sunday for brunch. At the time it was super busy because they were booked for birthdays and events but we managed to fit a party of 12 around the DJ area near the bar. They made it work for us and were very accommodating. The food menu served was brunch. The menu was simple, but they had a lot to offer. I would best describe southern soul food. Very reasonable in pricing and the drink menu had a great selection as well. My fiancée and I ordered: Drinks: -Pinot noir -Manhattan -Espresso Martini Brunch: -Grilled salmon with side of onions & potatoes - Shrimp and grits For it being super busy, we didn't have to wait long for our food. It was fabulous. My salmon was grilled perfectly. The hot honey went very well with my salmon. The potatoes were delish. My fiancée really enjoyed his shrimp and grits. He mentioned that the shrimp was on point. I tried my friend's French toast . Wow! That was amazing. Nina was our server and she was great! Very polite and attentive. She was working really hard. Came on a Thursday for $1 chicken wings and $4 lamb chops. You had to order at least 3 lamb chops and 5 chicken wings which isn't bad. If you reserved a spot for 5 or more people you received a free bottle of wine. I kept asking our waitress what the free bottle was and she kept saying she'll ask but never came back and told me the answer. After an hour we received our free bottle. My drink came out 30 mins before the rest of my group and then some of the food even made it out because others had their drinks. I ordered lamb chops and wings my lamb chops came out but my wings never did. I asked about them 5 times and finally they came out as my group was ready to leave (2 hours later). I told the waitress I didn't want them anymore and I was excited to try the apple bourbon sauce. They ended up coming out I told the waitress I didn't want them anymore because I've waited so long and she took them back and said "well you should have told me before I went back there to ask about them. I was waiting in the back for them and told them to make them fresh for you" and then she took the wings back and didn't offer any compensation. I then went to the bar and asked this sweet lady named Q for a manager a manager came out faster than I expected and handled the situation with grace. As far as my waitress goes I understand the frustration with kitchen being slow but please don't take it out on me. I'm very understanding. Also they no longer have hookah. Met up with some friends for Taco Tuesday and the only disappointment was they were out of some of the protein options! So choosing from chicken, steak or ground turkey simplified things but it would have been nice to try the shrimp or fish! Otherwise the bartenders Shay and Lex were FANTASTIC, serving up strawberry lemon drops and other happy hour drink specials. I was also pleased to find out they do a Sunday brunch and Karaoke!!! mic drops will be happening as I update you later on that feast. The seating is great for date night or for friends popping out. One of my fiancée's friends was having a birthday brunch here and invited me too. I was definitely curious about the place after I saw the menu, especially after I saw shrimp and grits, one of my favorite dishes. So we went on a Sunday and it was pretty busy. Still, we didn't wait that long for our reservation. The place itself has somewhat of a club feel complete with a DJ. The staff were super friendly and helpful, even after a little miscommunication with our reservation, which they worked out and made it easy for us. They food menu is loaded with southern style goodness and their libations menu is nice too. I ordered an Manhattan and the shrimp and grits while my fiancee ordered a glass of Pinot noir, grilled salmon, and a side of potatoes and onions. Despite the size of our party, 15 to be exact, our server Nina was absolutely great and very attentive. When the food came out, everything looked great. I'd go back again just to try their French toast because it looked so good. As for my shrimp and grits, let's just say I devoured it. The shrimp was very well seasoned. My fiancee really enjoyed her salmon too. For a little dessert, my fiancee ordered an espresso martini, and it was tasty too. Tried Confessions for a friends birthday and was a little disappointed. The servers were super friendly and nice but the overall experience was lacking. Our reservation was at 8pm and upon ordering drinks they didn't come out for 30 minutes. Appetizers arrived an hour after ordering and our food was a little over an hour. One person at our table didn't get her food until 9:40pm and we had to ask for her meal to be comped versus that being offered for her wait time while the rest of us were finished eating. Meisha was super nice about it and accommodating but not offering it up front was disappointing. Overall the food was mediocre. The best things we tried were the buffalo chicken dip, Cajun pasta and the wings. The salmon could use more seasoning and felt like they were relying on the sauce to give it flavor. I would return to watch games and hang at the bar but would not plan for food here. read more

I came in with my girls to have a good time since they were advertising 50% off drinks on Thursday. Unfortunately, we quickly realized it just wasn't a good night to visit. The first thing we noticed was gnats flying around, which caused us to keep our drinks covered the entire time. Then we found out that several items listed on the menu were no longer available because it was an outdated menu. On top of that, we were told that almost everything else was out of stock because they were waiting on their delivery truck the next day. We asked about multiple different menu items, and nearly everything we wanted wasn't available. The items we were finally able to order even came out incorrectly, and when we asked to have them fixed, we were told they were now sold out of that item as well. I do want to give credit where it's due. Our bartender, Destiny, was amazing and did everything she could to make the experience better. We also spoke with the manager, Airy, who sincerely apologized for all of the issues. They were both professional, friendly, and handled the situation as best they could. While I appreciate their customer service, it unfortunately didn't make up for the overall experience. Between the gnats, outdated menu, limited food options, incorrect orders, and multiple items being out of stock, it was a very disappointing visit. Good vibes and even better music. Seems to be a dj on the weekends Very slow service but extremely nice staff both times we've been here. (Q has been our favorite bartender so far-she is awesome) Food could have been hotter but everything we ordered from the fish n grits, chicken wings, spinach dip, bang me down shrimp were all very tasty. I was impressed with the food. Disappointed that I didn't notice the automatic 15% gratuity the first time. Once I realized it on the second visit, I was annoyed that I previously tipped 35% because I didn't notice the automatic gratuity. Would really be nice if the servers/bartenders mention it OR if they post a small sign at the bar or on the tables. During these times, accidentally tipping 35% is not feasible. I will return and I do think there are some things to work on (temp of the food, receiving drinks and food faster-an hour for food is too long). Overall, Nice job confessions and staff. We were riding around town and looking for places we'd never been and Confessions popped up. We ordered drinks (Mimosa/Bloody Mary). The Bloody kind of threw our bartenderess for a minute but she said Yeah I think I can make that. Obviously not a drink they make all the time. she sent the bar back and he found bloody Mary mix and then sent the bar back for bacon. He successfully came back with both and 20 minutes later. I had a Bloody Mary and it was great! We ordered Shrimp and Grits and shared it. It was also great. We liked the atmosphere and the back ground R&B music was perfect ambiance. I normally give a place two tries before I tap out, so I will go back one more time, just not on a Sunday for brunch. The music was loud, the service was slow, and the food was just ok. I wasn't expecting a "trap brunch", but that is exactly what the experience is. To each his own! It took us about 30 minutes to get seated and we had a reservation for a party. It took us 30 more minutes to get drinks. And it took us about an hour to get food. Some people left. Again, I will try one more time for dinner, but if the experience isn't better, I won't return. Me and my group had a reservation for my friends birthday on a Sunday at 6pm. We arrived promptly at 5:55pm. We waited about 10 minutes until a host came to the stand (in which the security guard had to grab him). He proceeded to say that he needs to clean off a table and we will be sat in a few. We continued to wait about another 15-20 minutes until we were finally say at 6:30. Once sat, we were given a brunch menu and got no explanation as to why it was not a dinner menu. As we sat at our table, no waitress came up to us and the manager who sat us was sitting at the bar eating chicken wings with no care in the world. We continued to wait another 30 minutes without any waitress, water, etc. As we started to look for other places to eat, the waitress decides to finally come to our table and let us know a grease fire had taken place and she doesn't know how long food will be. Things like this make it so hard to support Black Owned Businesses. We were super excited to experience as we saw they had great food and left highly disappointed. We hope in the future this establishment puts more care into their customers, even on a busy night. read more

The food was absolutely amazing! We had the catfish and grits, turkey egg rolls, and shrimp and grits on the side--everything was full of flavor and definitely worth the wait. The atmosphere was great too, with a DJ playing R&B music that gave the place a fun, relaxed vibe. That said, the wait service was nice but was very slow with drinks, bring food out and checking on customers especially in the low traffic areas of the restaurant. I'm hopeful it will get better over time--like any new restaurant, there can be growing pains. It might help to have someone specifically focused on organizing and coordinating the wait staff. I want to start by saying I've visited this establishment a few times, but I had never experienced service quite like I did this past Sunday. Bobby, the bartender, was extremely busy, yet she still took a moment to acknowledge me as soon as I sat at the bar and kindly let me know she would be right with me. That simple gesture made me feel welcomed and valued, even during a rush. When she returned, her greeting was pleasant and genuine. She took the time to recommend her favorite food and drink selections, which turned out to be excellent choices. Her ability to stay attentive, friendly, and professional while managing a packed bar really stood out. We truly had a great time with BOBBY!!!.
