If you're above a size 10 dont even attempt this store. This was so unprofessional and anyone who…read moreisnt as confident might leave in tears (as turns out many have, which I found out by speaking to other bridal stores who pick up the pieces of these poor brides after coming here) The shop is cramped and dirty! Multiple dresses were dirty or damaged! If im buying a new non second hand dress I expect it to be clean and not damanged! She will also request you take your shoes off and put on grotty slippers that match the grotty floors... No changing room youre just supposed to strip in the middle on the shop to try on. (I was mortified and so i kept my bra and vest top on) Not ideal. She quickly asked if we had the covid vaccine and told us we will die as a result, i thought she was going to refuse service because we are vaccinated. She also went on about 5 different conspiracy theory rants during the appointment (go put on your tinfoil hat my god) Back to the experience. She kept harping on about how her 30 something nephew would love me (im buying a wedding dress not speed dating so felt this was fairly in-appropriate). Anytime i mentioned my fiance she would pitch her nephew!!! This isnt speed dating im getting married! Anyways onto my size im 5,9/10 and broad, I used to power lift so have a decent amount of muscle. Im a uk 14/16 and was told she had very little that would fit me. I tried a few on, and the only one that fit have makeup stains and oil stains and had beads hanging off it, another dress had a massive 3/4 inch rip in it! I told her my high street size before arriving and at the appointment she told me she was sat their thinking about all my would be insecurities as a woman of my size would surely have and she was trying to plan how to hid the parts of me i hated about myself with a dress. She then kept commenting on how toned and not flabby i was! She was shocked a woman of my size wasnt fat apparently! She then referenced how plus sized brides tend to get bigger skirts to hide their bodies and it ends up making their a**es even bigger! She also spent so much time tearing down other women and went on a sizeable rant about girls being pumped with filler. (I feel bad for any women that feels she needs to pay to alter herself due to a lack of confidence but I dont not think tearing other women down to build yourself up is the right thing to do) She also couldnt be bothered to try and do the dresses up properly so when trying on they were all bunched up in weird places (is your job not to literally do that) In a dress i tried to test movability and dance-ability and one move she said 'Thats how those black women dance!' which again i thought was insanely in-appropriate. Her entire sales pitch is dont go to wed2b or wed4less as you wont find anything of quality. ... Well i went straight to those 'budget' stores as she called them found my dream dress and veil and had an amazing experience there! I went to 4 dress shops in total and this was by far the worst experience! I imagine shes bitter as she likely sees less foot fall due to them! She spent alot of time bashing how certain women dress, or what their bodies look like and spent even mpre time talking about how cheap her dresses were...i would not be paying 700/800 for a stained or ripped dress my god. Also we werent allowed to take any photos in store due to 'contracting issues' with designers?!

Abbey Wedding Warehouse has refrained from having a more grandiose name, such as 'Abbey Wedding…read morePalace', or anything that might evoke the sickly sweet Disney princess fantasy many brides to be seem keen to buy into...which I rather admire, as for most a wedding will not involve magical pumpkin-to-carriage transformation and fairy godmothers but instead may revolve around trying to scrape together sufficient cash to have a celebration to remember. That's where Abbey Wedding Warehouse comes in as they sell sample wedding dresses for a fraction of the price of non-sample equivalents. The shop has quite an old-fashioned look to it with a deep burgundy and cream exterior, a large door knocker and an archaic gold font for the sign. Dresses here appear to be a mix of simple traditional styles and notably vintage look pieces. They come in a very wide range of sizes and include bride's maid dresses for small children. If you're looking for a quality dress on a tight budget then you may just find a bargain here. Visits are by appointment only.

I may not be…read moregetting married, I don't in fact ever plan to, but this kind of boutique would be the place to sway me. It's a sad thing to admit that for all my independence and feminism, dresses such as these have the ability to make me forget myself in the moment of looking upon them! (Not beyond that, of course, but certainly in that moment.) It is divine. As the name suggests the shop is dedicated to bridal wear and bridesmaid dresses. In the window alone were two of the most exquisitely made wedding dresses I've ever seen - beautiful ivory material, delicate beaded detail and gorgeous design. They don't just do wedding dresses (of which from their website it seems they employ a few designers!) they also do bridesmaid and prom dresses - and this is so much more than your standard high street options. If you purchased on of these dresses for an A-level party you would most certainly be the belle of the ball. Accessories, such as shoes, tiaras and veils, are also available and are exquisite. Truly this shop has some utterly beautiful dresses and it is a pleasure to be inside.

AVOID I ordered my dress from Abigails Bridal Boutique in…read moreOctober 2020 and I get married in November 2021. However, although the designer notified Abigail's that the dress has been ready for dispatch since early September, due to cash flow problems, Abigail's has been unable to pay the designer. Through direct communication with the designer, I have managed to move my order to another boutique (and have had to pay again). The designer has been amazing, as have the new boutique. I will now have to try and claim my money back via my bank and if that doesn't work go through the small claims court or my insurance. Definitely not what you need 5 weeks before the wedding. At NO POINT have Abigail's Bridal Boutique let me know there is a problem or going to be a delay, despite my numerous chasers. I repeatedly tried to call, text, email, Instagram message and I received little or no response. The only time they respond is if I comment publicly on their Instagram page (they soon delete any negative comments or follow up messages from brides from their Instagram page). I can't understand how they are still operating and taking 'orders' from unsuspecting brides. It is not acceptable how they are behaving. I didn't even get an apology when I explained that the designer has moved my order as THEY DIDN'T PAY! They have also NOT OFFERED TO REFUND ME! They can't seem to acknowledge that their conduct is in any way inappropriate, and they have no remorse for the amount of stress and upset that they have caused for tens of brides in the lead up to their weddings, a day which should be one of the best and important days of your life and that potentially not getting your dress is going to cause an issue. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated incident, there are many more brides in similar situations as a result of Abigals Bridal Boutique. If you are concerned that the same could happen to you then I urge you to contact the designer or Citizens Advice for guidance on how best to proceed. They need to stop playing at business and close down. PLEASE LET EVERYONE YOU KNOW - AVOID

Absolute disgrace of a so called bridal shop. I ordered my dress pre covid paid 50% on ordering and…read more50% last September when it arrived in store even though they were shut and I couldn't see it. Since re opening it has been lie after lie from Lauren the shop owner. Me,my niece, sister and mum travelled there at least 3 times to find my appointment had not been booked in with the seamstress even though I had it all on text from the shop owner. My dress wasn't even there !! Every appointment we went to we were kept waiting one was over 2 1/2hours late and everytime we asked what was going on we were fobbed off. We had wasted journeys after that to Wakefield to the seamstresses studio where yet again Abigails had lied to us they'd sent a hoop which wasn't even the one ordered as they'd given mine away to another bride !! It took 3 hoops until I eventually got one and then it was too big. It was 36hours before my wedding that I eventually got my dress, hoop and veil I couldn't even try it all on before my wedding day so the last time I tried everything on was May 24th until my wedding day on September 4th. Things weren't right but what could I do on the day of my wedding? I had several irate phone calls with the new shop manager Rosie and the shop owner Lauren I was then promised £250 compensation for lack of service, told to wait 28 days for it to be paid. On the 29th day I enquired where the payment was to be told they weren't paying it due to financial circumstances. Yet more lies. This shop is ruining brides once in a lifetime experience I wish I'd never set eyes on it. Now it's back to ignoring the texts and phone calls they are an absolute disgrace if I put on here what I really thought about them it wouldn't get published. If I can save one bride going through the nightmare experience I had then I'll be pleased. Please please please avoid at all costs. Whilst the shop from outside looks stunning the owner certainly isn't she's a compulsive liar. They've removed their Facebook page as it was full of bad reviews and they've also gone off trip advisor. If you don't believe me I'm afraid you'll find out for yourself what a shambles this place is. I've got everything on text so contact me if you want to hear more and then make your own mind up. The whole month at least before my wedding was ruined because of Lauren and this shop. I could go on and on about the vile experience I had. It should be shut down. They take your money and then lie and ignore all forms of contact. Disgusting place.
