One was a sweeter variety & the other less so but both were equally delicious & would not hesitate to get both again! They also had a chocolate bar in the back where they were pouring drinking chocolate - we did not get to taste but promised ourselves a return visit! Plenty of seating right outside to enjoy the sun & afternoon.....be sure to make Camondas a stop on your agenda!

The store is filled with every type of chocolates imaginable, light, dark, white, prewrapped or in containers, or pick by the piece. The selection of truffles alone was to die for! It was an incredibly hot day when we were there, and we knew if we set foot outside with chocolate it would be a melted mess in minutes, so we had to restrain ourselves. We bought a selection of chocolate dipped caramels in different flavors - just enough for a quick snack, not enough to melt in our pockets! The works of art in chocolate displayed around the store were brilliant - stop in to see them if nothing else! Definitely make the effort to stop in!

Later, it was not remade by the Soviet bloc East German government due to insufficient funding, which would have demolished many of its old buildings (by then seriously distressed). Consequently it became the best preserved example of German Baroque architecture in the country. The Espresso-Bar Cafe Kränzel is a jewel of a place that epitomizes the charming character of Görlitz. It is located in one of the best areas of the city -- in fact the historic core. If you are walking between the Untermarkt (the older and smaller market square) and the church of Sts. Peter and Paul (a glorious architectural colossus), your likely path will be on the street called Neissstrasse. That would bring you directly to the Cafe, at the corner with the street Kränzelstrasse. The proprietor of the Cafe is a wonderful person. I learned that he, a bright artistic type who is quite personable, studied the art of coffee (in its many magnificent varieties) in Italy, perhaps the best place to learn all about it. Anyone who visits this place will feel most welcome, and certainly they will be treated to some of the best offerings available in this lovely city. The Cafe Kränzel is a great part of discovering the wonders of Görlitz.

Oh, and not forget to mention the nice staff and cosy atmosphere with a fire side during winter time. They also offer a brunch menu on the first and third Sunday of the month (which I didn't get a chance to try)
