I specialize in helping people, individually or in a group setting, become more effective within themselves, their families, and the community. I support individuals in their desire to feel more empowered and I do that by helping them find comfort and confidence. I provide individual and group services, specializing in treating adolescents, young adults, and women. I work with those trying to find help in the following areas: Trauma Victimization Stress Relationships and/or attachment Anxiety Mood or emotional disorders Behavioral disorders or concerns including; aggression, impulsivity, boundary issues, attention difficulties, conduct disorder Sleep disorders Performance anxiety Self esteem Social skills I primarily utilize a cognitive behavioral approach complemented by: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Skill building Psychoanalytic and client-centered theories I find that these practices combined with the Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) protocol are extremely effective.

Meet the Business Owner: Sara P.

While working toward and after obtaining my Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology in New York City, I realized that working within a community to help individuals heal was the focus of my passion. I initially worked with disenfranchised women to regain their stability, confidence, and independence. Many of these women were victims of domestic violence and/or street crime. I continued to work with individuals who were struggling to be effective within their communities. Since 2005, I have specialized in working with adolescents with histories of trauma to address their attachment, mood, emotional, and behavioral disorders. I have experience working with individuals with a wide variety of mental health symptoms, histories and experiences. I have been described as having a calming presence as well as a supportive yet firm demeanor. I am a provider for the Give an Hour organization as well as the Second Wind Fund.
