I had to emergently petition for someone that is related to me, residing in the state of AZ, due to serious concern of imminent risk to self/other/deterioration. My emergent petition was filed 2116 12/21/25 due to recent alarming behavior on 12/20/25 and 12/21/25. This patient was not evaluated until minimum 41 hours later since the petition was filed. I was informed by a staff that notarized my Emergent Petition that I would receive a phone call about the status of the petition and disposition of the patient in a certain time frame. I did not even receive any communication until 12/23/25 1141, asking me for "updates." As I did not receive any information or updates of this patient, I was very confused that this staff identified themselves as "Nick" was asking me for updates. He proceeded to ask me if I could answer questions about my emergent petition. Again, these were a very odd questions. I informed Nick that I had filed many EDOs in the state of Texas, which is the Texas equivalent of EP. I stated that this is not part of standard procedure, so I am unsure what he is asking here and I will not follow a non-standard odd line of questioning. He promptly hung up after 1 minute. This whole time, I thought that this patient had already been evaluated, as in the state of Texas, EDO lasts 48 hours, and this time window is already almost out as we were at 41 hours when I arrived at Connections, AZ, in person. Because of this recent phone call, and the fact that the pt also violated another court order today, I was deducing that this patient could be decompensating more, so I went to Connections, AZ in person to file another Emergent petition. A staff that handles front desk duties immediately started antagonizing me after hearing my request. She was a woman in her 40s, obese habitus, dark hair, prominent lip fillers, resting comfortably in her chair. MSE necessary here as she did not identify herself. She and I had some peaceful exchanges initially, however once she called Nick, she started getting argumentative, confrontational with me. She brought in the supervisor to confront me, without me requesting to speak to any supervisor. She then turns around and accuses me of asking for the supervisor. When clarified, she stated "well you said something about Nick calling you and something about perjury." To which I stated "did I ask for the supervisor." At this point, she became agitated, unilaterally ended the conversation "I DON'T HAVE TO TALK TO YOU." Ok. This supervisor Deej Walther identified herself. She states that she is the head CCM of the unit, she did not identify herself as someone directly caring for this patient. She presented with an immediate escalated demeanor, with a scowl and intense eye contact. "What do you want here?" I was entirely unsure what she was referring to, as she asked to speak to me. I politely explained that I thought I needed to file another Emergent Petition, with the assumption that the patient had already been evaluated and discharged, as it is now 41 hours past the notarized filing of the emergent petition. This patient again violated a court order today, so that raises cause of concern for more decompensation. She proceeded to mock me, scoff, and scowl at me when I stated I was practicing in TX as a psychiatrist. She continued to escalate, quote the words "emergent petition" with theatrical hand gestures, coupled with a condescending affect and intense eye contact. This level of aggression is entirely unfounded and unprovoked. I am concerned that this workplace behavior is indicative of some extreme poor level of emotional regulation, disinhibition, and very possible underlying untreated psychopathologies. She proceeded to explain that my petition was not emergent, as the dates of safety concern were in 10/2025, to which I stated "did you read the entire petition? I mentioned dates in 12/19 and 12/20. She had no answer to that and immediately switched to a dumbfounded and guilty affect. This individual Deej is displaying some serious concerning behavior at the workplace. She appears to be massively impaired to be practicing any psychiatry or patient care. Another cause of concern is that she stated "you aren't going to get what you want, we will likely discharge the patient." Never in this conversation had I verbalized what I wanted, and the fact that you are implying that due to your countertransference towards me, you are willing to retaliatorily make a patient disposition. That tells me that you are seriously, seriously impaired. Her verbalized course of action is almost criminal, threatening this writer that she will discharge the patient without a full evaluation, without even reading the petition in full. My petition was accepted, under the terms of imminent risk to self, others, and deterioration. My son was there. A staff member Tyrus told my son he was going to punch my son in the face because my son was trying to figure out why he was there. I called and my son had fallen asleep so they stuck a sticky note to his forehead!!! How unprofessional is this place!!! How can this place be helpful when they have unprofessionalism and lack of empathy! My son has his own Dr and therapist. read more

Do not go this place as an emergency if you have real insurance. Any pre authorization or things needed will give you the run around for days before finally telling you they are a hospital and will not provide this. I had to pay out of pocket for my meds to not lose my mind and am really hurting financially right now. This place does not have your best interest in mind or really care about you read more

Hopefully you never have to go through the difficult process of getting someone petitioned for court ordered medical care. But if you do, you'll have to start here and the incredible staff makes the process easier. The staff gives the most helpful information and instructions on how to keep checking back. The facility isn't that clean however, it's an in and out process. Plus, Pomo Pizzeria is just a few blocks away so you can wash the experience down with a Peroni and super delicious pizza. read more

I applied for this company. I was very experienced and met the qualifications they were looking for. They did contact me and said my first interview would be on zoom. I did zoom and there were others they were talking to about this position. Wasn't really an interview. Then they said we will look at everyone's resume and they will contact between 1 pm and 4 pm that day if you moved to the 2nd interview. They called me and said they favored my resume the most for the third interview in person. I came to the location there was so many people there to interview. Everyone working there was in their 20's. I did my interview and he claimed perfect for my interview. He asked when I could start. I told him I needed to give my two week notice at my present job. He stated because I could not start immediately. That would be a problem. Most jobs in my opinion would not state something like that. Then they sent me to the lobby saying they would contact me between 1 pm and 4 pm if I made the next round of interview. They didn't call. Here is another organization I'd give -5 stars if I could. It's all part of the "involuntary"/ voluntary hell they call mental health care. You don't get to pick these places or even know anything about your so called Doctor or caregivers. Most of them are not doctors but some sort of Nurse Practitioner that just graduated from Grand Canyon University.....A Private Christian University with no government regulated curriculum. They coerce and trick you into signing your rights away! Then they expect your health insurance (or the communities taxes) to pick up the tap on that. It's predatory and surprise billing all in one place! NEVER EVER sign an AMA (Against Medical Approval)! They are not trying to help you or respect your rights, sanity or health! They are tweeking jobs and money out of a healthcare system that mostly hurts everyone except if you're homeless. Which I certainly was not. They drug you and drag you through misery and they also stole a pair of designer shoes from me. Avoid AZ inpatient mental healthcare like the plaque, because it will damage your mentality for the rest of your life! read more

Deciding to petition for a loved one to be involuntarily committed is already an emotional and heavy time, the people in this organization made it worse. I am ashamed that they are caring for persons struggling with mental illness. Please do not go into this field or have an organization if you aren't going to run it with compassion, knowledge, and professionalism. I got down there by referral and I think it's one of the worst places to be that I never got into and glad fuck if I ever go back. Bad attitudes from the staff and no service at all. I got down there to try to get some help and I was waiting for two hours and they had to recheck me in and said they call people back first come first serve?!? There were people waiting before me still waiting to be seen and people came in after that's been seen and waiting on the next whatever. Complete, horrible joke. As an RN with experience in geriatric psych, I could not believe the conditions there, the way the staff treats the patients (I think inmates would be a better term) The staff is incredibly rude and I watched as a group of women ganged up on another one with threats of physical harm, throwing paper wads, etc. while the supposed "tech" didn't even look up from the desk. I had a very good friend there, and after getting several calls during the first 23 hours in the "Observation area" I called the facility, was brushed aside, and finally went personally to the facility. I was trying to explain to the "charge nurse" what was going on and what they might say that would help. The nurse visibly rolled her eyes, let out a sigh, and said, "if I had to hear about the issues of every one of these people and know what to say to all of them.." I was P.O'd by this point and told her, "I am a nurse and it IS your job to know what is going on with each of your patients!" She replied, "You may be a nurse, but you ain't no nurse here...bye." And shut the door in my face. In the name of all that is decent, shut down that hell hole and get some place that at least treats patients and caregivers with some sort of human decency and dignity. It is little more than a cage, or a jail. And if that was the sentiment of the one charge nurse and the inattention I saw in the "other wing", which is after the initial 23 hours, I don't have much hope for the rest of the staff. This place is a complete joke if you have to endure the pain of someone you love that is in trouble please do not take them here they will cause you more trouble. RICK really does not belong there when I first called and asked questions he stated "I don't have time to answer questions" he was so rude and could careless about their patients. I also had a so called court order or they made me believe it was a legal court order anyways that my child would get a 72 hour evaluation instead she was in a room for less than 30 minutes and questioned about how much money her family has. Are they not aware she needed help and had no money is the reason for being there in the first place. when they found out there was no money they sent her on her way.
