Chris I am not interested in having you look into my account, I am done with connex and have already opened an account at another establishment that has a higher customer satisfaction rate, and has more than 3 branches that are only open until 5pm everyday so their members can never get access to the branch unless they rush on a lunch break. I am very dissatisfied with the treatment I've received from your bank on multiple times. 1) Your fees for a business checking are unreal-Bank of America offers business accounts with no monthly fees. 2) I tried to apply for a vehicle loan and when I asked for information I was told to fill out an application and they get sent to another company and I'd know in a week or two...you lost out on that because I went through Chase. 3) Multiple calls a day claiming to be Visa Fraud Protection that call at least 5 times a day. 4) I was scammed when you leaked my phone numbers to my account and they got my PIN number...and if you did not leak them then how did they have the number on the account and know I banked at Connex and not Citi Financial or BOA? The account will be closed as soon as my direct deposit is deposited into my new account. I will be telling all friends and family to find a different banking institution than Connex. ALSO, Your staff at the North Haven branch are very unpleasant to deal with. I know you only work in marketing but maybe you can let one of your superiors know of my complaints, I am sure I am not the only one with a negative review. read more

I would have to say that up until today I was satisfied with the Service from Connex. However after the call I recieved about a payment that was never recieved I would have to say that I am pretty unsatisfied with the service with the service.. A little history .. I have been on-time with every payment witth exception of 1 or 2 in the last 4 years and I have never MISSED a payment until now. In order to make up for this payment that was not recieved I offered to make a larger payment in my bill and work the back payment off in about 6 payments. Obiously this is ok .. who is going to say no to sending in more money. I asked if there was something we could do about the late payments. like maybe pay 3 out of the 6 .. a little good faith / cutomer loyalty on their part. The anwser was flat out NO. (The reason for the missed check was non delivery from the post office) So if you are thinking of useing Connex for your loan provider remember one thing .. no matter how well you pay your bills. If you get stuck .. they will not work with you to resolve your situation. read more

I am really getting fed up with this bank. I have been a member for over a decade and cannot believe how poorly they treat their members. It takes over a week for them to return a phone call. I went into the guilford branch with 5 rolls of quarters and the teller insisted on opening and counting all 5 rolls one by one. I ended up being in the branch for 30 mins while he had to recount several times because he lost track. The orange branch maybe the worst. They take forever, they are even worse if you use the window. I'll be shopping around for new banks as I have complained several times to management and nothing seems to get better. read more

Connex offers the best interest rates with their Unbank Checking anywhere (1.25% up to $25.000). Most staff is very helpful and knowledgeable; there seem to be some, or let's say at least one person who is extremely slow. Of course there are only a few branches but if you use your debit card in a store or their affiliated ATMs you can get surcharge-free money any time. read more

The straw has broken the camel's back today. I have tried for the last two years to make Connex work in my life, mainly because the people are so nice at the New Haven branch downtown, and it just isn't happening. My frustrations have included but are not limited to: 1. Having my debit card randomly be declined at certain stores despite having plenty of funds in my account (embarrassing and very frustrating after an hour long grocery trip with my kids in tow...which has happened more than once...I've had to stop shopping at my favorite grocery store, which is also the most affordable option for me, because my debit card is declined there at random about 30% of the time. This is even after being issued a replacement card. 2. Arriving by plane in Florida and going to rent my car from a car rental place I was using specifically because they are in the minority of car rental places that accept debit cards for rental (I don't use credit), and having my card declined because, as I found out the next day, Connex prohibits use of its cards for car rentals. This was just around 5:00PM, but of course Connex (which has absurdly limited hours) was closed. I finally got in touch with somebody at the card company, though of course they could do nothing. They told me I would just have to spend the night in the car rental place and were completely unsympathetic and worse, unhelpful. 3. This evening I went to an airline website to purchase tickets for my family that I need to get right away because the seats are almost gone and my dates are firm. The cost is $1855. I have plenty of money in the account to cover not only this purchase but much, much more. The payment was declined, however, presumably because Connex tightly limits debit card purchase amounts no matter how much is in the account. Of course it's a Saturday, so now this won't be resolved until Monday, by which time the flight will probably be sold out. I am so done with suffering to bank. It shouldn't be this hard to get my own money. read more

I made my last car payment plus interest and yet, after the payment, there still was an interest amount of $1.84 showing on my account'; but, I did pay that interest. I sent the usual payment of 301.78 PLUS $1.84 interest for a total payment that I made of $303.51. The details of the payment at the Connex website show the principal amount of $301.78 and interest amount of $1.84 for a total of $303.51 which is what I paid. Yet the Connex website still shows a balance of $1.84. When I called the bank I get a "run around" that makes absolutely no sense. read more

I love this "unbank". The service I have received is great. They treat you with respect and they work for YOU. I love the ladies that work in the New Haven/whitney branch. The manager is there to help the clients when it is necessary, instead of holed up in an office somewhere. They don't always get things perfect in regards to the set-up of your account (there were a few glitches that they had to figure out with internet banking and such)., but they did not give me any attitude and worked hard to fix everything. I closed my CHASE account and could not be happier. Oh! their schedule is fabulous. It is what banking USED to be: gracious, freindly and personal service. read more

Also had a terrible experience with the Connex loan department. Basically, after the loan manager made a ridiculous amount of mistakes setting up my account (misspelled name, incorrect SS, phone #) he also gave me the incorrect due date for loan payments. NOBODY at Connex told me my payments were late and Connex refuses to waive the late fees that were a result of one manager's ineptitude. Connex doesn't treat customers any better than a 'big bank'. read more

I've been a member of this institution for about 20 years. When I married, my wife came on board & we've had our paychecks deposited automatically for the past eight years. Several years ago they began ruthlessly punishing clients for every "non sufficient funds" charge-$34 to be exact. For two municipal employees whose pay has stagnated while cost of living continues to increase, times have been tight and their fees have taken a stressful toll. We have stayed loyal to them while their institution has greatly expanded using the same cheap tricks of extruding cash from their clients (e.g. "stacking" transactions so that larger ones would post first, ensuring a NSF fee from something small like a cup of coffee on the debit card(this was some time ago, before stacking transactions like this became illegal)) that the big banks use, our years of clockwork deposits counted for nothing in their eyes and even though funds were available in other accounts, we were still charged mercilessly. I once wrote the vice president a courteous, formal letter, mailed it and never received a reply; the height of rudeness and arrogance. My wife went in to a branch to speak with a manager who promised he would look into things and never followed up, we never heard from him again; the arrogant behavior of a bully out of reach of the weak. Of course had we money these problems would be non-existent but is this not supposed to be a credit UNION in which all members are stakeholders? The fact is they are relying on the difficult lives of the poor to provide them with quick and painless profits. To anyone considering joining this "unbank" in its current incarnation I would say do not do so if you have the slightest hint of a moral conscience. Better to give your business to a local bank or even one of the mega-banks who you know are evil, than to give your hard earned money to a smiler slowly pushing a knife into your back, and screwing over God knows how many of your less fortunate neighbors at the same time. read more
