I went in on a Saturday lunchtime and found the service very efficient without feeling rushed. It was surprisingly quiet, so we forgot about the world around and were able to concentrate on the delicious food. The dishes are in the range of about £3.50 - £5.50 each and they're usually split into 2-3 bits, so can be shared if necessary. I recommend getting bread as well - it's great for soaking up sauces and is nice, soft ciabatta style with tomato sauce to dip it in. Particularly recommended: - deep-fried chicken soaked in garlic - not at all greasy and very tasty - potato with layers of goats cheese, ham and tomato - prawns with scrambled egg and asparagus (much, much taster than it sounds!) The sangria comes with a good amount of fruit in it and at £3 a glass is cheap and plenty enough to last a meal (if you can resist another one, anyway!). All in all a really nice place if you're into tapas and a great introduction if you've never tried it.

My favourites are the selection of cheese, the garlic prawns and the little ham croquettes. Try a jug of sangria with it - it's very well done here and compliments the food greatly. This is a lovely place, decorated in a way inkeeping with the food and very private. The tables are well spaced, so you don't feel cramped or overheard. I like this place for dates or for a meal with a good mate. Always busy, so best to book it unless you've got time to have a drink at the bar first (which is no bad thing here). Go for a great, relaxed meal on one of Oxford's loveliest streets.

They have a nice wine list featuring European wines. The gin is plentiful, and they offer gin tastings. We enjoyed delicious gin and tonics on both nights, including those using Cotswolds Gin! On our second night we ate at the restaurant. We arrived early, around 5 pm, after a day of traveling around the Cotswolds. We had a drink and then said we'd love to come back in an hour to have dinner - they said that was no problem (and this is a bank holiday)! We wandered off to a pub down the street (Eight Bells), which was suggested by the waitstaff. We had a great time having a glass of wine there, where we mixed with locals and visitors from near and far. We returned to the Bistro, which was pretty much full - except one table! They had held our table back, with three settings for dinner. We shared excellent food (and more g&ts!) including classic egg pasta with shaved truffle (yum!), the avocado and egg salad, and a side of lovely, buttered green beans. Overall, the meal has been the highlight meal of my trip to the England. The staff was fun, hardworking, and really made us feel welcome, even if the majority of the guests were "stiff upper lips" in regards to us having a fun time. If I return to Chipping Campden, I'm staying at this hotel and dining here for sure! A lovely experience!

I had the pork belly which was delicious. My wife had the chicken which was good. My daughters had the orzo dish. It was also good. But for higher prices, I wanted the food to be a step above the others. I do think if you were a gin lover, this might be the place for you. They had many different types of gin and associated cocktails. We are not gin drinkers so that was not a highlight for us. The staff was friendly and accommodating and the dining room, dishes, plating was excellent.

Now if the idea of getting out to Kings Heath (and people that live there love to be smug about this place being around the corner) for some tapas seems to be a bit much of an effort I understand but the food here is well worth the journey and that's all I'll say on the matter. The staff match the food, friendly, welcoming and leave you happy at the end of the meal. Price wise each dish comes in at around £5-8 so a selection of 5-6 for two is pretty reasonable, especially considering the quality.

I know this place is always packed so there must be a reason for it......the food is SO good. The only time I have had tapas this authentic was my time living in spain...it is was truly fantastic. We decided to skip the starters and go straight into the main event....and it was a good job we did.....all of the plates were massive compared to other tapas places in Brum and only about £5 per plate....amazing value!! We had the patatas bravas, the pork belly, a chicken and garlic dish, a chorizo dish and a couple of cocktails that were all soooo good. the service was also friendly and fast. Shouts to the waitress that puts gin in her pimms you are my kind of girl!
