We were warmly welcomed by Melissa who gave us a brief run down of the place. This place is a true museum with a lot of history of the town of Blackwell and its citizens. This place appears to have alot of things donated by local people who gave things that were a part of their lives or occupation. There are lots of items from numerous wars including World War one and two for sure. Lots of household items that were once used. Forgot to mention that is a hands on museum. Many items can be touched gently. Good luck on your adventure here. We hope to come back again some day when we have more time to look around. Be prepared to spend at least 2 hours here.

The building was originally called The Electric Pavilion. It's 31,000 square feet are home to exhibits that include trains, dolls, school history, smelter, 1955 devastating tornado, farm, ranch, fire, clubs, medical and Native American. It is an open and interesting place for both adults and children. It is a perfect place for travelers to take a break. Opened just this month is an in-depth exhibit "F5 in 1955" commemorating the 1955 Blackwell-Udall, Ks tornadoes. The exhibit features personal stories, video presentations and a tornado simulator. It occupies an entire room and gives interesting informative information about tornadoes.

I wasn't alive when the Marlands lived here - not even close - but my great grandmother, whom I knew well, would have been a young woman in this home's heyday. We especially enjoyed the mini-tour given to us by the woman volunteering that day, and learned more in 15 minutes than in a week of attending a history class.

I visited the library for the first several weeks ago. I've only lived in Ponca for 5 years and…read morenever been to the library, it's a little hard to get out on my own due to being in a wheelchair. My first impression of the library was that it's really big. It's 2 levels and has an elevator. I wanted to get a library card so that way I could use the virtual library on my tablet. It was very easy to get a card, I started the process online and then finished it at the librarians desk. We did walk around the library and I was impressed by the huge variety of books from non fiction to children's books and then magazines and movies some old and some new. Overall I recommend you check it out.

I am rating this based on the hotel room, not the actual casino (which was clean but I don't…read moregamble). While on a road trip visiting several tornado alley states, I chose Osage Casino Hotel as my stop in Oklahoma being that I wanted to visit the Twister Museum in Wakita the next day. Not too many hotels out that way so Ponca City seemed like a good choice. This was literally the nicest hotel I have stayed in outside of Vegas! The rooms are BEAUTIFUL and spacious. There's a living room area up front with a TV and the bedroom has an additional TV as well. Really nice and clean bathroom with a very modern shower. Vanity mirror to do your makeup, kitchen sink area above the refrigerator. I actually wish I could have taken this hotel room with me on the rest of my trip. Great view of the pool and it was wonderfully quiet in the room for sleeping. There's no smoking on the hotel room floors and you couldn't smell anything despite smoking being allowed in the casino. They had a really nice free breakfast as well and the front desk personnel were so friendly and accommodating. I'd go back to Ponca City just to stay in this hotel again. Deserves more than 5 stars for the amazingly low price you pay.

The hotel staff are quite lovely and extremely friendly. I can honestly say I dont know I have ever experienced staff as nice as the ones here. The room is spacious. The bed was comfortable and overall it was quite nice. Mynissues; I wasn't quite happy with the bathroom door which is a slat door with see through slats. Doesn't really give much privacy. My other issue was the smell. I dont smoke. I expected the casino to be smokey. But my room smelled like a lit cigarette. The smell permeates everything. If it didn't smell of cigarettes, i would have given a 4nor 5 star. Needs air purification badly.
