I have heard good things about this lawyer, so I choose her to handle my divorce. I am VERY…read moredisappointed in her performance as such. She did not listen to anything I wanted, there was a 17 year old minor who would be 18 when it was final, I told her I wanted no child support, and that my now ex-husband had no hidden money, I knew this, he was not the type to save anything, nor did he pay bills which is what lead to our divorce. He was not paying for an atty, there fore she was the only atty. According to state law he had days to respond with an atty to my filling for divorce, or else for the most part I got what I wanted as a non-contested divorce. I told her at our initial meeting that he was not going to hire one, and heres what I wanted - OUT, just out, no child support, no alimony, I wanted NOTHING except he pay all the bills he had generated in his name and I will pay mine. So she sent him his notice by mail which I told her not to, he will not open it, and there will be no proof that he got it, but she did anyway. when he did not respond, she sent him a summons to appear in court the court date was 4 months from the initial letter - 90 days after I could have had my divorce by default, but I guess that doesn't generate her enough money? Appearently neither does a simple divorce. Long story short by the time it was all said and done, she charged me over $100 for a finacial questionaire to him that I told her was no point in doing so, and when he gave it back to her 1/2 completed and said he didn't unserstand all the questions she stuffed it in her bag and said it was no problem, she wouldn't need it anyway. She tried to charge me for 5 hours in the court house of her time for the day he didn't even show up to court, and said it was a "mistake" really, who decided that even if he did appear ti took 5 hours??? In the end I hires another atty to complete her job, it took him 1 day to complete it, I had to pay the same deposit I had to pay her, but you know what - it was worth every last penny I gave him. At this point she was listening to everything the now ex-huisband was telling her, then coming back to me and saying, he says that its this and not that, is this what "you" want? She already knew what i wanted, and of course he is going to lie, duh. But i was the one being charged for all of the when it was a simple easy, in and out divorce that should have been completed in 30 days now took 6 months
