Best burger in Hamlet wish they would open restaurant instead of out of gas station but food is hot and fresh

Love this place for a quick meal! I usually get a a hot dog all the way or a Bacon Cheeseburger with chili cheese fries. They also have some the best iced tea which they sell by the gallon if wanted. read more

Always loved going here grew up with my great grandpa taking me there every Friday when I went there for the weekend and Sundays before church, still the best bacon biscuits I've ever had, every employee I've ever met there is kind and friendly, even though this is for the main part a gas station probably my favorite food I've had in my life. This store and the grill is absolutely awesome. I was really surprised to see they had a 100% health score but after eating there I can understand why, everyone from the young lady at the cash register to the ladies working in the grill everyone is so nice, courteous and a pleasure to talk to. Anyone in the area needs to stop in and give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. read more

Well convenience corner has been around since before I was born and has had some of the most amazing great burgers biscuits and so many fantastic other things, especially sweet tea....mmm so so good!! But I guess it's time to face reality that the outstanding food is already starting to slowly disappear! As John got older he's going to have to sell it and already the new people he's got in there, not in the mornings, in the afternoons and evenings, has ruined his food! It is slowly becoming freaking awful because them young kids and there don't give a crap and they don't know what they're doing! It used to be you would have to call over and over and over and over because the phone is busy with people placing orders now it's not busy at all when you call unless it's in the mornings and for lunch!! So congratulations evening shift of convenience corner yall suck at your jobs and are killing the reputation of the best place in Hamlet and Rockingham to get a burger and sweet tea! Growing up right down the street, I lovingly refer to this place as Mr. John's (owner is John Garner) and my family and I have always loved to get their cheeseburgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese, breakfast sandwiches, hamburger steak, etc. For a gas station, the food that comes out of that little hole in the wall is unbe-freaking-lievable. Ok here it is in a nut shell, I went to Convenience Corner in Hamlet and ordered me a fresh, Mind you I said FRESH double hamburger with everything and fries so I get home the fries are hot and fresh but the burger is cold as ice and I mean like it had been in the frig, the meat was so tough and tasted like it had been cooked for hours, also the grill had been cleaned and there wasn't any sign a burger or hotdog had came off of it for a while any way my burger couldn't had been fresh it was hard the eat, they put a teaspoon of chili onions and slaw on it. The bread was old tasting this burger and fries came to over $6.00 well if I had wanted garbage food I would have went to Hardees and not Convenience Corner, I remember their hamburgers were Big buns heavy meat and fixings on them but certainly not now and I won't be going back not if they are going to keep them serving food like that. Where did the good food I used to by there go the hamburgers got smaller and just nasty. read more
