Hello, My last…read morevisit to Essentia's Osgood clinic on March 26th was absolutely terrible. I do not get sick very easily, but I tend to get a sinus infection every few years. My head had been pounding for a few days, and I had all the signs of a sinus infection from which I have been familiar with before. The last time I had one was 2019. I decided to go to the Osgood clinic, as this is normally where I go when sick. Things at this clinic have extremely gone downhill since the Covid years. First, I walk into the clinic, and the front receptionist was quite rude to me. The attitude was basically "why are you here," when I clearly sounded like I needed to be seen by a doctor. When it came to insurance, I am already in their system. Nothing had changed with my information since I was last there, but I do have secondary insurance through my dad. I know it sounds exaggerated, but she had a snappy tone when she asked me whose insurance the secondary came from. In my opinion, I did not think that was even a valid question, as it should not matter. It is valid insurance. Anyhow, when I got to see a nurse, it was fine. Nothing bad really happened, but she did not seem very understanding of why I was there. It was just odd how everyone was being, because in my experience, sinus infections can last about three weeks. Without medication, the symptoms would have just kept on. Next, it was time for the doctor to see me. I am really not one to complain for no reason, but I was just not impressed with her at all. She was also rude to me and did not see to believe I actually had a sinus infection. I felt I was kind and did nothing to deserve the tone she had with me. I did not really know what to say, as I had all the symptoms. She did not even due a full exam on me. Usually, doctors will look in your ears, nose, and mouth. I am prone to ear infections, as well, but she did not bother to check my ears out. Anyway, the overall visit was pretty short, but she basically told me at the end I am "young and healthy" and will be fine. "Just keep taking over the counter medicine, and it will go away eventually." I felt so annoyed after going to the clinic. Then, after a lacking experience there, they will of course bill me for literally doing nothing. Now, I understand there is a nationwide campaign in the medical world, making it difficult for clinics to prescribe certain medications, such as antibiotics. I did not demand medication at all, and that was not my intention. However, I am not someone who comes in weekly asking for antibiotics. Again, the last time I needed them was 2019, so I feel another sinus infection is a valid enough reason to take them for the prescribed 10 days. Keep in mind, all of this was explained to me by the doctor I saw at Sanford the following day, who was wonderful to me. That doctor explained everything about what is going on with my body, all of the background on prescribing medicine, and she was just a great, kind person overall. I did end up getting prescribed what I needed by that doctor, because she actually cared to check me as she should have. I will be going to Sanford from now on. I felt I had to leave some comments, because the last few visits I have made to this clinic have been bad experiences. The last time I was at the Osgood clinic prior to this visit was the summer of 2023, July 30th to be exact. I had cut my nose open pretty bad. Granted, I should have gone to the doctor day one to get stitches, but I did not. At that point, it is what it is, and that did not happen. However, I decided to go in the day after the incident to see if they could do anything. I recall waiting a long time to get in, and I ended up seeing the doctor for all of two minutes. She sat down and said there was nothing she could do for me. She proceeded to ask me if I wanted a butterfly Band-Aid on it. At that point, my nose was still bloody and scabbed. I thought they would at least help me clean it gently and put some antibiotic on it. I was hesitant to touch it, because I did not want to make the tear worse. Anyhow, I did opt for the butterfly Band-Aid if that was all I was going to get. Again, I was super unimpressed and underwhelmed with that entire interaction. Thank you, Ali S.
