The customer service here is well, pathetic. I will NEVER return and will highly recommend against supporting this business when given the chance. I entered the store on 07/22/22 to shop gifts for my team and was prepared to spend $300+, the lady working looked at me when we entered but said nothing, so I said " hello, how are you?". There was a long pause then she finally said "good" nothing else just "good". So I browsed for a few was interested in some items I couldn't reach so I patiently waited at the counter, ( there was only two other people inside doing self serve yogurt), she stepped out saw me at the counter, rolled her eyes and walked in the back. New location is next to Raley's and near Yama Sushi, but now they have self-serve frozen yogurt along with their delicious cookies. Their big sign outside says "Cookies and Yogurt" instead of "The Cookie Jar" so I don't know what to call it just yet. They have a lot of good flavors to choose from including Heath Bar crunch, Yellow Cake Batter, Dulce de Leche and Strawberry Tart. Best part is that they offer both mochi and little pieces of their various cookies as toppings. They also have a nice variety of other toppings too, but who cares about those when mochi is around. Plus, the frozen yogurt is one of the cheapest in town at 39 cents per ounce. They still sell whole cookies up front separately, offering multiple kinds of cookies like chocolate chip, frosted sugar, coconut sugar, molasses, snickerdoodle, Russian tea cake,and more. Beware, however, you may experience difficulty choosing between their whole cookies and frozen yogurt. Perhaps it is wise to just get both. I don't know. Let your thighs decide. read more

Since the switch from The Cookie Jar to Cookies and Yogurt, I have become a regular customer. The reason I come here as opposed to other fro-yo shops is the cookies that I get to add to my yogurt. I have not had one cookie of theirs that I wasn't pleased with. My husband likes this place too, but wishes they had more fruity flavors. This shop is always clean, and it's fun with all the Christmas décor year-round. I'd probably buy their boutique items if they weren't so pricey. read more

As soon as my family walked in, the young man working up front was rude. Did not great us or show much enthusiasm and want to be there. One of my family members came back in because their yogurt did not taste right. The man had an attitude about it. The other young man that was working in the back, making yogurt and cleaning, came out without a mask on. Once he saw us he threw it on. Scary that he's making the food without a mask. I was in there last week on Thursday all excited to try the caramel apple yogurt during their half off yogurt day and Christmas open house. My daughter, grandson & I were looking at the beautiful trees and tables decorated and everything was 20% off so there were a few gingerbread men things I was considering but wanted to look thru the whole store first. We got to a table that had about 10-12 snow globes, nutcrackers & statues. My daughter picked up a snow globe to show my grandson. Then she saw one with Joseph, Mary & Jesus when she picked it up it had been tethered to the table because it had a light and instead of putting in a battery like the globe is set up to do they put some sort of battery that you plug in. Because of this it fell and the glass broke. The young man who worked there came over and asked if it broke? We said we were so sorry but yes it had, we had no idea it was stuck to the table. He said it's ok don't worry about it. Then went to get the owner. We stayed where we were and the owner walked up, reached over us and pulled the price tag off the broken glass and says I guess I'll split it with you. When I looked over to see the price tag it read $59.99!!!! A woman came over (another owner it seamed) to see which piece broke. When he went to pick it up he dropped it because of it being stuck to the table. We said that is what happened to us. He ignored the comment and went to the register to ring up the broken globe. My daughter said we were just looking at it when he responded that snow globes were to be looked at not touched. He was very rude and nasty which was uncalled for. We were in total shock so we were doing whatever he told us to do. The lady asked my daughter if she wanted the broken globe and she said yes if I had to pay for it I will take it. The lady says well I am sorry (kinda snotty) my daughter says well I will never come here again. The lady says with almost venom "I said I am sorry". We left. I have several problems with this whole thing. #1Why would you make your customer purchase a item that broke when you yourself dropped it under the same situation. #2The rudeness/bullying that the owners used to make us pay for an item that he was still making money off of and he probably has insurance for such accidents. #3that he thinks $30 is all we would have ever spent there or given him in business. We will never go there again because of the rudeness. That is the thing that bothers me the most!!! #4how are you suppose to check the price, make the snow fall or turn the song on if you only look at the snow globe but don't touch it? #5There also were no signs that said that things were not to be touched, they were tethered down or "you break it you bought it". They just bullied us into paying. #6They also didn't give us the 20% off before he cut it in half. He was so arrogant like he was doing us a favor. As I said we have been going there for many years since they were owned by the last guy. The cookies aren't as good as they used to be but loved the Christmas stuff!! I will never go in there again and will never recommend it to anyone else. He has lost way more than the $30 he got that day. One of the last places in redding to get amazing frozen yogurt. They have many unique flavors (ex. Boysenberry, toffee etc.). We love coming here after a long day. The staff is nice and efficient. I'm a local, and I only buy my cookies from The Cookie Jar. The cookies are absolutely, to-die-for delicious. They are always fresh, soft, and chewy. My favorite is the coconut sugar and the snickerdoodle, but they are all fabulous. The only reason for four rather than five stars is that I travel and have been to some of the big city bakeries that offer "miles" of glass covered decadence. TCJ offers just over a dozen varieties. The service is fabulous, they wrap and box your cookies up which makes for a nice party presentation or gift. Speaking of gift....the store is STUFFED with wonderful trinkets that make the perfect gift. I shop there for my mother-in-law all the time. Very nice staff too. I have frequented cookies and yogurt for about 7 to 10 years. Tonight was the worst I mean the sourest saddest experience ever not only do they not have a quarter of the flavors they normally have since it's October I asked to try pumpkin flavor again since they only had a portion of what they normally have they no longer supply tastes which is now a new policy and it wasn't that I walked in there and wanted a taste I already had $30 worth of cookies $20 and ice cream I just wanted to taste the pumpkin to see if I wanted it in my cup. Well that's no longer acceptable and a NEW policy to not allowed. POOR customer service and not interested any longer. read more

Fantastic!!! The atmosphere is fantastic, you are greeted by a beautiful display of cookies and Christmas decorations everywhere! I could have spent all day looking at all the decorations they had. The cookies are delicious, I had the lemon, it was so soft with a little sugar crunch on top yummy. I would consider the cookies very inexpensive for the quality of cookie you get! Next time I'm in Redding I will be back to try more of the cookies, they had alot of favors to choose from! Although the cookies and yogurt is amazing along with the beautiful decor, the customer service was absolutely horrible. A few friends and I walked in on a Friday night to a gentlemen with colored hair working. As we got up to the counter to order some cookies we noticed he was wrapping a few things up so we kindly waited. 5 minutes goes by, he still hasn't turned around to look at us but says out loud "tell me when you guys are ready". As we are ordering our cookies, we were curious about one of them in general and when we asked, he responded quite rudely as if we should've known. Then as we were leaving.
