The store is tucked into a little strip mall style setup that kept the storefront door out of site but easy to access. Lots of room in the hall of the area for getting warm with the family as well. I generally liked my time here but mostly due to the sales racks and then moved on...and on...and on from store to store to store!! I loved every minute of it though .

It lasts forever, so yes, it will cost more than cheap competitors who cut corners, but it is always worth it. I was excited to find their store in Banff, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was definitely recommend stopping by this store, and reading the books written by Patagonia's founders and corporate officers on why Patagonia is so special, and how other businesses can be too!

Yeah, the prices are high - but it's a boutique store and you're in a touristy town so what do you expect? They sell mens, womens, and kiddo outdoor gear ranging from your daily wear to an ultra warm and expensive parka in the $700 price range (no, that's not a typo). The quality appears second to none and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. I had to google their company after returning home to learn the origin of their name. "Fjällräven means Arctic Fox in Swedish, honoring the small and highly adaptable predator that lives in the Swedish mountains under the harshest conditions." Cool, I totally dig this. A company committed to giving the best to their customers while protecting wildlife and nature - Yes, yes, I can get behind you Fjällräven. I am sooooooooooooo coming back here on my next visit to Banff and I think I will get myself one of their signature Kånken backpacks as a treat! But which one? They now have 9 styles from the Mini to the Big to the Laptop to the original Kånken to the Kids. There's some pretty neat history behind it as well - being created in the late 1970's to help alleviate the problem of an increasing number of kiddos with back/shoulder pain from over the shoulder bags which was the dominate fashion at the time.

There was, however, one giant window sign that caught my attention when I walked past. It was a model wearing these cool green slacks. I noted that I liked them and the next day when I walked by their other window and saw the second giant poster with that same image I decided to stop in figuring the now advertised 50% off + the Canadian to American exchange rate would score me some pretty sweet new pants for pretty cheap. Unfortunately, they don't actually carry the pants they advertise in 3 different giant window and in store displays. They didn't have any of the items on their billboard style displays and focus mostly on played out basics. Overall the store was pretty sad and seemed more outlet-y than it has in the past. It's a shame because there was a time when The Gap clothing was a real hot commodity but now it's just norm-core Forever 21.

Clothes and bear spray. And they do have a good selection of colder weather clothing. Lots of hoodies, and jackets. Vests and beanies. The staff were perfectly helpful and distant when I wanted them to be. The store was clean and well kept, and also well lit. The items here were not nearly as plentiful as I had expected and while everyone in town carries North Face, I was surprised that some of the stores nearby actually had stuff these guys didn't. I'm sure that's by design and I like it. But yea, this store is legit and I liked it.

I had to have them. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I've worked in retail for many years, so I also know you can ask for a discount at any time. You don't have to wait for a sale. There were many items on sale at the back. Everything is beautiful. It is true that some of the accessories are manufactured in China, but the fur coats are Canadian.
