The…read morespacious aisles have space for fresh fruit, spices and vegetables, dried goods such as noodles and rice, freezer chests full of all your oriental favourites as well as packets of stuff that I've never heard of. I'm not a specialist in these foods, more of an enthusiastic amateur, but the "what the hell is that"? aspect of shops like this has always appealed to me , and there was plenty of those kind of thrills for me at the Seoul Plaza with many products that I can only label as "specialist" nestling between the more familiar items like rice, tofu and fresh chillies. The drink section was also intriguing, with Aloe Vera based drinks that taste delicious and lemongrass seed drinks that look worryingly similar to frogs spawn. I'm giving Seoul Plaza three stars not because I don't have the expert knowledge to tell if Seoul Plaza is great at what it does or simply very good, though it might well take a Chinese or Korean chef to tell you that. However, I can say that it's a well run store with an interesting selection and polite staff. Also for reasons completely unknown to me they sell what appears to be the cheapest cans of Coca Cola in the West Midlands ( a mere forty five pence!).

This place quite rightly saw a gap in the market and chose to serve the large number of Chinese, Japanese and Korean students who attend the nearby University. There is a fair selection of fresh produce, and it's great for fresh lemongrass, coriander, and so on. There are the usual baffling (to Western eyes at least) array of sauces, packets, sweets, drinks and dried goods but its also provides all the 'usual' stuff like soy sauce, chili oil and the like. My wife is half Philippino and often drops in for ingredients she can't get elsewhere. There is also a fairly good frozen section and its a good place to pick up fish, seafood and items like spring rolls. It's a fairly big place - somewhere between the size of a small supermarket and a convenience store, so there is a lot of stock to chose from, so you'll more than likely find whatever it is you're looking for. The prices are fairly reasonable, too.

They sell different types of chapatti flours and accessories to learn how to make the asian food. They sell alot of asian drinks and beers. There are a few located in Birmingham, this one is not the biggest but has necessaries. They are usually busy and fresh meat and milk do get cheaper before they close because they will go out of date. They dont have a reward system like other supermarkets like Sainsbury but they are generally cheap and the things in here are authentic and are really nice. They dont have a rating of how spicy they are unlike sainsburys though but recommended.

Located next to the market this is a great little shop. The shops is clean and bright and you can normally find what you want straight away. The staff are good and very helpful and will even help you pack your bags. I was still waiting for my shopping to arrived little after seven so I phone again and a man answered saying that my shopping was on its way I said ok. still waiting i phone again the man said he go and get his supervisor when the supervisor came to the phone he said they was no my drivers the delivery will have to be the next day l said fine which i wasn't the customer service is terrible no communications what so ever and no my shopping still haven't arrived as they promise

The store is a large store, as well as selling the groceries, it has a large clothing department and a large electrical department. The store also has the usual range of meat, fish and deli counters. The store is well aid out, easy to navigate and well sign posted. The store has a (Johnsons?) dry cleaning department, a Photo processing department, and a Starbucks coffee shop. Even of you dont want to go shopping you can still pop in and have a coffee and a snakc at Starbucks. The negative point, although this is not Sainsburys fault, is at peak times the queues to get on to the retail park are lengthly,before Christmas it took me an hour to get from the island to Sainsburys store

The store is also near some of Birmingham's main attractions and it's handy that they have free cash withdrawals! They met my expectations of a convenience store as their products range from basic fresh vegetables to toiletries, pretty handy right? However for an off license they only had a small selection of alcohol. The staff were friendly and gave a casual greeting as I walked in and I could see they were bored they but they were surprisingly chatty when I went to the counter. In this day in age most people are trying to save money and Nisa Local has some money saving deals. When I went there they had an offer to buy two chocolate bars for the price of one. The products in general are quiet cheap as well and it was a relief to know they take card payments with no charge or them saying something like "you have to spend....to pay on card"
