Ordered the ribeye with a calamari topper. Firstly the calamari topper never came, which I paid for. And secondly the ribeye was the very last steak on the rib and as dry as a dead dingoes donger. The view is amazing and the people are great. But the $48 lunch was an rsl $15 lunch. Sorry guys, get better. By the way I never complained about the calamari to be honest I just remembered as I was writing this review. Could have potentially saved the steak, but I doubt it. read more

Spur of the moment decision saw us here for a evening meal. Told it was totally booked out unless we wanted to sit out on verandah overlooking the beach. This seemed a plus more than a disadvantage, so we jumped at the proposal. Dishes were very promptly served and of good quality, would advice a visit by everyone who is in Coolum. You can never seriously fault a food and drinking establishment that has prime position on the beaches of Queensland and supports our lifesavers. The Coolum Beach Surf Club is one of my favourites. A modern building with a wall of glass and large sheltered balcony making the very best of the views of rolling surf that it stands guard over. They have a great kitchen with an impressive new pizza bar at great prices. Perfect for a long lazy lunch watching the surf, as long as you can stomach an occasional Cliff Richard track.... read more

This club has a great atmosphere and superb location. The daily specials are always great. The wood fired grill delivers excellent steaks with a unique flavour. There is a wide ranging menu to satisfy all comers. Best overall restaurant in Coolum. read more

The restaurant is located above the surf lifesaving club on the Coolum beachfront. The dining area has been recently renovated and extended. The views of the Pacific Ocean certainly add to the enjoyment of being at the restaurant. My experience of dining is that the quality and presentation food is consistently poor. Despite this the meal charges are extremely high. Sails restaurant on the beachfront in Hastings Street and the Coolum Beach Surf Club restaurant both offer fish and chips for $30. The contrast in quality is disappointing and stark. My recommendation is that visitors enjoy a drink on the balcony and then go elsewhere for a meal. read more

Coolum Surf Dinner Review 29th Dec 2013 - Receipt # 107030 10 Kieren S for table 91 @ 18:36:29 My first visit to Coolum Surf Club from New Zealand - we went especially to have dinner as we had heard from our Son that is was really nice meals. We arrived at 6pm to be advised that no bookings could be taken until 8:30pm.We fought for a table in the bar area. I actually removed the entire cutlery and cleaned the table but we ended up moving to another due to the air-con unit above us being far too cold. I then removed the entire cutlery and cleaned the new table. Eventually one & half hours later we order our meals which was like a frenzy in a market bizarre. The request I made for our meals were not followed and the entrée's arrived with main meals & main meals all arrived at different times. During this time we were repeatedly asked to move from the table while Note: some had already began to eat their meals, apparently, the table was pre-booked (Very strange since I cleaned the table & there was no reserve sign at that time on table) Plus when the meals started arriving no one advised that the table was reserved - My wife meal arrived later, she had selected the Avocado Salad, which had just all green leafs. We returned and had meal refunded. I had advised the waitress (Isis) that we would not be moving as we had started to eat our meals - she protested and continually insisted that we had to move tables. I told her not until we had finished our main meals. She adamantly stood over everyone at the table and advised us that we would have to move in 15 minutes finished or not - I instructed Isis to come and talk directly to me as she was ruining everyone meal at the table, with her demeanour. By this time we all had basically had enough and lost the mood, let alone enjoy our meals. We finished our meals within the 15minute time frame delivered to us by Isis and we were moved to another table to eat our desserts. We finished our desserts around 35 minutes after we had being evicted from the adjacent table. Please Note that the table we had been evicted from was not occupied nor had it been cleared or cleaned and no one was dining at this table when we left. After spending $190.00 - I am Totally over the Coolum Surf Club and wouldn't recommend to anyone. I have travelled the world and eaten throughout India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Borneo, Fiji, Jordon, Egypt, UAE, Toowoomba, UK, USA, Pacific Islands, Old city Jerusalem, Uganda, South Africa, Cairns Darwin, Alice Springs & Tenant Creek.
