Next to find yogurt. We found what appeared to be yogurt except that it was for cooking. We asked a staff worker who directed us to the correct section. All the staff were super nice. This is a cashless store. The register language can be changed to English. Bags for groceries costs extra so it is prudent to hand carry or have your own tote. The yogurt was great as were the smoothies! Yum! Good stop for a snack.

Many healthy options from baked drumsticks to baked cod or other fish types (all flat fishes) , steak, colorful veggies, pink shrimps, etc. Not overwhelm but good options. The staff is always pleasant , happy to help and patient. Check out the pre-packed salad bento from Mediterranean, mideastern, Swedish of course, to fusion. Even freshly made sushi stand inside of the market. Diffident Brad selection and bakery, cold entrées, so many. All good and reasonably priced. A must visit stop in Stockholm for me.

But let's put a positive spin on it: You get more exercise? There was quite a large selection of in-store baked breads at the front entrance. There were also prepared sandwiches, salads, and sushi, along with a small sushi counter. I got a ham and cheese sandwich; it was disappointing. I also got a crusty baguette and some sweets (cookies) as gifts. Next came the fruits and vegetables. Note: You need to weigh your produce. There are scales throughout the section. Put it in a bag and place it on the scale. Select the item. Yes, the writing is in Swedish, but there are pictures, too. I could figure out that "nektarin" was nectarine. Once you select the item, a sticker is printed out, and you put that on the bag. Not surprisingly, the fish section is big. It's at the back of the store. The meat counter is small and includes some prepared items, like ribs and chicken. There's a nice-sized deli counter. In front of it is a small but varied food bar. Grab a compostable container of an appropriate size and fill it. It's all the same cost by weight. On the day I went, there were four varieties of chicken, and one Chinese beef dish. There were sides like potatoes and broccoli and more, and salads. But tucked between the food bar and deli was a warming oven filled with chicken roasted with a variety of spices. They were pre-packed in a variety of quantities. I picked a single chicken leg (drumstick-thigh). It was juicy and delicious. I regretted not getting more more and passing on the sandwich. I would (and probably will) go back for this chicken. This is where the store really becomes a maze. It's got everything you need, but on your first visit, it may take you some time to find it. There are a lot of self-service checkout machines and three staffed lanes. Be sure to read the signs: The lane I selected had a large sign stating cards only, no cash. And yet the couple in front of me still missed this. They had to see another person in order to pay. Bags are available - don't know if there's a charge - I always bring my own. This Hemkop is downstairs in Ahlens City. Enter off of Klarabergsgatan, under the Hemkop sign, and go straight back to the elevator for a barrier-free experience. The store is downstairs. I believe an entrance off of Master Samuelsgatan, on the other side of the store, the one that leads right to the elevators, is also barrier-free.

I took a trip outside of my usual shopping area to go to the Pris-Xtra since I knew it was enormous…read moreand I might find some of the items I couldn't find at smaller stores. Well, all the signs were still up but it was gone! Wandering down the street I found a new hemköp that was about to open and they were giving out free coffee and I really needed to get these items for a dinner tonight so I waited around and actually quite a crowd gathered by the time it opened. Maybe they were hoping for a long Swedish speech, or just didn't want to miss the chance to queue =o) Once we were in, they handed out roses and champagne (maybe it wasn't actually champagne but I don't drink enough bubbly or speak enough swedish to tell)! It's a nice grocery store? I mean it's brand new so it looks nice. I found tortilla chips which I hadn't been able to find at Coop or ICA near me in Fridemsplan but no fire-roasted crushed tomatoes. They have the automated check-out machines but most people seemed afraid to use them so there were loooonng lines at the checkout but it had JUST opened to a long queue of people. There were 7 checkout lanes so they seem like they would be able to handle a lot of people normally. It could be that my memories are exaggerated but I remember the Pris-Xtra it replaced being MUCH bigger. My cell phone didn't work inside the store (it's in the basement) so that was kind of sad but often par for the course with large grocery stores. In the end, you can get food here and the vegetables were fresh -- that's what a grocery store is all about, right? Granted I was here on the most incomparable of days.

Have been extremely happy with the quality and variety of the meat. They also have a decent collection of international food items. Don't forget to take a look at their fresh flower section, as this is one of the best value for money when it comes to flowers!
