In January 2002, the cooperations in Sweden, Norway and Denmark merged their retail operations into a single company called Coop Norden. This also involved introducing the Coop name as the main brand for the cooperatives in all countries, this branding which is now a green logo remains even though it has not in other parts of Scandanavia - in Sweden.
This store is in Stockholm's old town, Gamla stan and is fairly close to Burger King while being a short walk to Slussen, where I was staying during my time in the city.
The store is pretty old-fashioned in many ways - narrow doors to get in and out while offering a separate system - the fact you have to queue up to the counter and then leave basically forces you to buy something as you know you have to wait for the checkout anyway, passing a rude staff member who looks at you as if to force you to explain your actions "I'm such a good friend I left my friend to pay for my milk"- just to get out of the store. Surely with such little room, they should use the one door they have to get both in and out?
The store is also really expensive even for essentials like milk and water and was also quite poor for GF.
Not a great selection meaning you might have to compromise with purchases here, with your wallet feeling the burn - I just can't get past the two big negatives of the store layout, and items (selection and pricing) to even warrant an additional star.
