This is a full service supermarket (and thanks to Suzy, I now know why there are THREE M's out…read morefront because that denotes this is a department store and a grocery store and a food court). I did not shop the department store areas but I did find plenty of snacks and instant coffee for the hotel room. The fresh food area is spacious and clean with lots of options for "grab and go" and "heat and eat" if you're not looking to cook. The bakery was pretty darned amazing as well. Grocery section is tidy and well laid out with clear prices. Checkout went well. It was helpful to have a self-checkout kiosk (with an "English" button) so that I don't have to deal with language barriers. I also bought a "Migros" shopping bag for my collection. This store is very conscious and supportive of a healthy lifestyle. MOST items are in glass (hardly any plastic to see here) and vegetables and fruit are organic. They are ingredient aware MUCH. It is on a main street that is the artery which goes North to South in the Black Forest. I lived across the street for a while this summer and visited almost every day; everything is fresh The breads and cakes are all addicting. It has an inviting ambiance. You know you are getting clean food and feel that they truly care about this. It is worth seeking out should you be traveling in this area. Go across the street and visit the chamber of commerce, which you'll get a lot of information bout this area. Everything from rentals to the best ski sites, events or just to familiarize and ask questions about the beautiful Black Forest. It is small (just a few rooms) but everything is small in the Black Forest.

We chose to order several appetizers and a single entree to share and it was the perfect amount of food. Just looking at the menu, the prices seem to be a bit on the higher side but the quality and presentation of the food make up for it. The portions are reasonable to large so I think the prices are pretty fair for what you get. They also have a substantial wine and grappa menu if that's your thing. I highly recommend this spot.
