He was out sick that day but still called me, so I thought I found the one! Wow, I couldn't have done worse! One of the absolutely rudest people I have ever encountered. First, the attorney is about 90 years old and he forgets what he tells you, oh he will tell you I've been doing this for 30 years, trust me. Maybe it's time to retire? Second, he can't remember what he has and hasn't done. I submitted all my required paperwork. I did have a lot of questions and all he kept telling me is not to be this kind and to trust him. After my case was completed, he told me I complained too much and if I have an issue to come to his offices and handle it like a man. Dean I am not one of your female clients that you can intimidate. During my time I have since learned that Dean Hines used his position of power to initiate and pursue an intimate relationship with a vulnerable client who was afraid to resist in early 2009. Women beware! Research this Disciplinary Counsel v. Hines. Remember when you lost your license for 6 months for this? I really let this man represent me? Of course, everyone makes mistakes but really, come on that is one of the first things you were taught in the 1940's! His wife (his paralegal) had no problems at all with her, maybe it's because she's not 90 years old! (Maybe she was an old client as well?) If you want to be treated like a child, then I surely recommend him as he would be a great great grandpa to someone. About the only thing that came fast was the bill. They surely make sure you get that! If you want an ambulance chaser with a law degree or someone that acts inappropriate with the females, go to Dean Hines! You want someone that listens while you go through one of the hardest things you have ever done try elsewhere. In fact, if it comes down to representing yourself or picking this guy, represent yourself! Believe me, you're better off. Again ladies beware! The only good thing is my case is finished, thank God I can't keep paying these ambulance chaser prices! The Best in Dayton Dean? Really? Try again, maybe the worst.

I replied back that evening, stating I had already written up a summary for both matters and that they might want to look them over before a discussion, to properly assess the matters. 3/18/25: I heard nothing. 3/19/25: I heard nothing. 3/19/25: I filled out a followup webform thinking maybe my email was marked as spam. I also followed up with a message on their answering service. 3/20/25: I received a form-letter response indicating that "based on the details I had provided" (mind you, I hadn't provided ANY yet), the firm was not interested in my case. I emailed back asking how such a determination could have been made when they had failed to respond to my question regarding the delivery of those details. I heard nothing. 3/21/25: I heard nothing. 3/24/25: I located a different "office" email address online and emailed the details of my experience, asking a supervisor to get back to me explaining how such a thing could happen (as a business owner myself, if an employee of mine were rejecting business without thoroughly assessing, I'd want to know). 3/25/25: I've still heard nothing, and don't expect to at this point... I'd like to say this was an isolated incident, but the reality is, 4 different times, via 3 different contact methods, messages were ignored, so that tends to suggests this is "business-as-usual" for them. Leading up to our trial for a custody/parental alienation case it seemed we were dealing with someone who was very busy as we received little communication. I get that's typical in the legal profession, we assumed he had a busy work load. However, we were also paying clients and did not feel that he fully grasped our situation. We reached out occasionally and sometimes get a response days later (if any). I will mention that we requested a call to discuss things around our trial date to ensure we were on the same page. He did make time for us the day before our court date. While we appreciated the contact, it was too late to add any evidence or possibly make changes to help our cause. Upon arriving the day of court, we heard him mention to us that some of the exhibits were turned in late. We had so much false hope for how things would go that day. He did encourage us on the short breaks in the briefing room and seemed to know the law- which is why I added a star. However, verdict came in the mail. We lost. Everything. Reached out to him. He never responded or followed up to offer condolences or legal advise. Nothing. Seems like a nice guy overall but save your money If you need a shark on your case!
