Finally tried this place out. Went for dinner on a weekday. The restaurant is pretty big. I peeked into the bar area and it was huge. Their dining rooms and split into rooms. I tried the pot roast and it was very good. It tasted homemade and it was a decent portion. My meal came with bread and I had the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. Food was good, however the service was not. Our server was new, we asked questions about some items on the menu and she did not the answer, she said she was a week in. She came by one time to refill out drinks and we only saw her once during the meal besides her bringing the check. Decent food but I dislike getting forgotten. read more

My family and I have dined at Cooper's Corner for both dinner and brunch. Both times what stood out was the service. Really slow on simple things, like bringing out soft drinks and taking awhile to take our orders. When we were here for brunch, where we did the buffet. I did not feel it was worth the price. The scrambled eggs were not good and the pastries seemed old and tired. The breakfast potatoes were well seasoned. We have been going to this place for years. Great Music one or two weekends a month. The rest is not to our liking, but we go a lot. This week we got called at 7:10 asking if we were showing up for our 7:30 reservation. Turns out the owner Steve had taken the reservation and written down wrong. So called to chew us out. Never apologized for his mistake. We get there on time for our 7:30 reservation. Steve seats us. Never tells the waiter that it was HIS mistake and we were not late. We wait 20 minutes for the waiter to acknowledge we are there. Meanwhile the music has started and we can sit and wait for service, go dance, or complain. Complaining I guess is the wrong thing to do. The food was awful. The service remained awful. The service has never been good here. The wait staff turns over every 6 months. The food ranges from Ok to down right awful. When they do get a good cook things get better for a few months, then goes down hill again. read more

My wife and I enjoy dining and dancing, and have been to this restaurant a few times, We have enjoyed the food, while the service speed can vary, depending on the crowd. The music has been great while the two screens behind the dance floor is a little annoying. One is an ongoing advertisement and the other whatever channel is selected, as sports. God, I really don't like to bash a place but this was absolutely the worst dining experience my wife and I have ever had. The menu should be totally revamped. The Chicken Marsala...inedible (bland as Hell), Chicken Parm...inedible (Chunk Tomato-No Seasoning), Saganaki...inedible, had a sweet taste on the breading. I would say if you're concerned at all about covid you need to stay away from here. They have signs coming in that say masks need to be worn. The Blind Lady behind the bar had the mask hanging over one ear most of the evening. People weren't wearing masks at the tables which I've become used to as long as the tables are social distance but they weren't. They had a live band with no mask and no plastic around them. The Dance Floor was full of people about 95% of them were not wearing masks. Luckily we found a place way in the corner of the bar and that's where we stayed. I asked a man who I believe was the manager about the mask and he said that they have some high-efficiency filters so they're not doing the masks. I did not know that was an option for places. I don't know that I believe it's an option for places because the governor has put guidelines in place. So because having a high-efficiency filter is what's needed instead of masks I will definitely change my review. As for the food. We ordered the ribs which were extremely dry and hard I think they've been sitting out all day. The bacon wrapped dates we're all so dry and overcooked do the flavor of the sauce was good. We have been going to Cooper's Corner for years, only because of the music. They host some of the best bands around for Rock & Roll. The food is ok to horrible. And you never know from one week to the next if it going to be good. The Pot Roast was unique but good the first time I had it. Last week it was horrible. I don't know how you ruin Chicken Pot Pie, but they di with what I believe was lemon added in. Prices are high. I would not mind if the food was good. My guess is that they have a high turn over in the kitchen. And maybe the original recipes were never written down for staff to follow. In any case, a plea to management. Get some good chef's and monitor the quality of the food. Your band selection is excellent, just do the same with the food. read more

Went to dinner at Cooper's Corner with hubby. To start with, we did not realize there was a band playing the night we ate there. They were very loud, but not so much that we couldn't have a conversation with each other in the dining area we were in. We had Roger as a waiter and he was probably one of the best waiters we have ever had. He was very efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. He went through all of the specials thoroughly, gave a listing of all of the different non-alcoholic beverages, as well as their dressings and desserts. He also gave recommendations on what he thought were good dishes from the menu. He was just amazing. Hubby had the wedge salad which he said the dressing was really good (blue cheese). The salad was so large that he was pretty full by the time done with it. I had the salad with garlic dressing. The garlic dressing as fantastic, not too strong or too weak of flavor. I had the filet medallions and I chose the parmesan crusted as well as the garlic ones. I think they were both very flavorful and cooked perfectly, but the parmesan crusted was my favorite. The pieces were large and it was filling. I had the garlic mashed potatoes as a side and they were creamy, with skins and full of flavor, not needing anything additional. Hubby wasn't as thrilled with the prime rib. He said it was fatty and seemed like it was at the end of the run. After we ordered, the waiter stopped recommending it and we heard him tell the next group that it was towards the last pieces and not so good. We ordered the oreo cheesecake to take home as dessert and it was creamy, fresh and not overly sweet. The bill was just under $70. We have had them before and would go there again, but maybe not get the prime rib. read more

Went here yesterday for Easter Brunch. To start, they got my reservation wrong. I called and made it for 4 people and then I had to change it to 5. The girl told me " no problem" to change it, but she never changed it. They squeezed us in at a table for 4. The food wasn't great, plus the were missing a few items that were listed on the website, no pasta, no chicken and just a green salad, no salads in the plural. The Prime Rib was tough and cut into chunks. The only good part was the sever, she was excellent. We won't be back. read more

I only drank here, so I can't review the food. We stopped in on a Saturday night to listen to some music and have a few drinks. We had someone approach us right away and we told them we were only having drinks. Then we were totally ignored. There were lots of people stopping in at the tables surrounding us, but nobody checking in with us. After about 10 minutes I stood up and waved my hands to get a server to our table. After placing our order, we got our drinks within a reasonable amount of time. Then it came time to reorder and it was the same thing all over again, nobody would pay attention to us! The table next to us gave up and just headed to the bar and got their own drinks. Again, there was plenty of staff in our area, just nobody willing to stop by and take our order. Maybe they were short staffed, a quick explanation and/or apology would have helped, but we got nothing. They made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. So maybe you get lots of attention if you are eating, but not if you are just having cocktails. For that reason, I will not be stopping in here for cocktails again. read more

I ordered vegatarian pasta through Grub Hub. We got meat sauce. The next time I ordered for pick up. I paid an extra $3.99 for asparagus that I never got. We went to the restaurant for a family dinner. I ordered steak medallions again, no blue cheese on my medallion. The waiter apologized then came to our table to deliver a new medallion. The waiter was proud to announce that he took it from someone else's order. The medallion had a tiny crumb of blue cheese and the beef was rare. Tonight I ordered the special. Osso bucco with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The asparagus was all stalk. The tip we're completely cut off. Everytime we order there our tab is over $100. I will never eat there again! read more

My wife and I had our wedding rehearsal dinner here. My parent's had set it up and chosen the venue. I believe I had eaten here before at some point in the past few years, but I'll say now that it was the perfect location for our dinner. The staff was wonderfully attentive and pleasant. Just this past Sunday we had my Granddaughter's 3rd birthday party in one of the dining rooms. I love that Cooper's Corner can comfortably accommodate our groups. The birthday party served between 40-50 people. The food was awesome, it was a great spread with a lot of tasty options. The service was fantastic, and Steve & our Servers paid a lot of attention to detail throughout the party. The rooms are spacious enough to comfortably sit and eat, yet cozy enough to mingle and enjoy each other's company. We held my Mother's Memorial Dinner at Cooper's 2 years ago in the fireplace room. It was perfect! I have eaten at Cooper's Corner many times over the past few years, enjoying breakfast, appetizers, and an occasional amazing burger! Love the sliders!!! I've wanted to come back here ever since I came here to see a band with meetup last May. The venue is cozy family style, I just like it. So I came here today on a Tuesday when I had a day off. I was disappointed that they do not have a breakfast menu except on Sunday. I had lunch, Maryland crap cake sandwich and it was ok. For $13, came with frys which were very good. The service was very good and staff professional and courteous. They get some excellent live bands and dancing on certain nights so check their website for more info. I personally don't care for the 1960s music playing in the background (bread, America, soft Elton John songs). I know a lot of seniors would enjoy it so its just a preference. I decided to give this place another try. All of their food can't be overpriced and basic, right? They recently put up a digital sign on Roosevelt so they can display their promotions. I came in to test out the "All you can eat wings for $8.99." Honestly the wing deal is good, they give you alot of chicken but they don't offer different flavors. The meat was good but not great....but at the price it is still an affordable lunch and pretty good. It's just not special. I hope this place can rise above mediocre. There have been so many businesses at this location and they don't seem to pass the test. I really, really am trying to like it but it always comes up short. If you are at the DuPage County Courthouse and looking for a good place to eat, this probably isn't it. If you're someone who cares about atmosphere, you will not be disappointed in Cooper's. It's classy without being pretentious, and the wait staff treats you like family. On the other hand, if you care about food quality, you're also sure to be satisfied. They have American classics down to a science and give very generous portions. The Chicken and Shrimp Carbonara is a personal favorite, and the burgers are also delectable. One of my favorite features of CC is the live entertainment. I came on a night that took me back to the 60's with the musical vibe and overall ambience. I will definitely be attending more on the weekends, for the fine food and enjoyable entertainment. I am SO disappointed and disgusted in Cooper's Corner. We made a Mother's Day reservation for a large group; at no time during the booking process did they tell us Mother's Day would be a mandatory, buffet-style meal. Nor did they even mention this on their website. We arrived to this news HIGHLY disappointed. Not only do we have family members with mobility issues, but we also have allergy-based dietary restrictions. Alas, we were 11 people who all traveled far, at prime brunch hour on Mother's Day - we didn't have much of a choice but to endure. It was perhaps the worst dining experience of my life. The meal started with an impatient waitress who couldn't even be bothered to tell us the drink options (we weren't brought menus at all - when we said we didn't know our drink options, she merely skipped us), or bring us waters (for the entirety of our meal). It only got worse at the buffet, which comprised of the nastiest food options I've literally ever seen: crappy scrambled eggs, corned beef hash FROM THE CAN, soggy & overly-salted chicken/fish, a biscuit gravy that was literally coagulating in a crock pot .... all of this for $22 per person (BEFORE the mandatory-added tip). I found actual human hair in my (blase, from-a-bag) salad, which the waitress told me must have been mine (it was not). Cooper's Corner, do your patrons the dignity of at least disclosing when you require them to eat from a buffet. Buffets are generally gross - this one was the grossest I've ever eaten from, and priced ridiculously, to boot. I'll never return here. read more

My wife and I discovered Cooper's Corner just this past week. We are not from the immediate area. We were at the DuPage County complex getting our COVID vaccine. It was my wife's birthday so we decided on having an early dinner. We YELP'ed and found Coopers Corner. Being our first time there, looking over the menu, we found the pricing to be quite reasonable. The person who greeted us at the front, the waiter, and another staff member who came by were all very personable and helpful. My husband and son-in-law each had prime rib and said it was very good. I usually cut a place some slack. Restaurants and kitchens have bad days, let's face it. But Cooper's, I just can't give you another chance. It's just awful. I was a frequenter at this location since it was the Viking, so I can say Cooper's did update the inside, even after Morgan's steakhouse picked up and left that location. Unfortunately, the food is just terrible. This last time we went there (and this will be THE last time), it was 3 of us. A girls night out kind of thing. We all ordered lemon martinis, which were good, but not good enough for the ridiculously high price. Then we ordered the bacon wrapped dates. Again, they were ok but nothing to write home about. Then we waited for our salad. And waited. And waited. This isn't the first time that's happened to us. Actually, every time (3) I've been to Cooper's, they either have to be reminded that we ordered a soup or salad, or totally forget and have to take it off the check. This was, unfortunately, no exception. We mentioned it to the waitress, who wasn't particularly thrilled about being told she forgot our salad. 10 minutes later, no salad, but here comes our entrees. She sets down our food as if we'd never even mentioned the salad. I got the pot roast, one friend got the meatloaf and another friend got the shrimp dejonghe. Except, she didn't get the shrimp dejoghe. It was the ravioli. Obviously, at this point, we are kind of upset. The waitress says "oh, that's the wrong thing? I'm sorry. What did you order?" After telling her AGAIN what the correct dish should be AND mentioning that she never brought our salads, she leaves without a word. The meatloaf was dry and sort of spongy and the potatoes were luke warm. Which was better than my entree. My pot roast was, quite literally, cold. No, I don't mean room temperature, I mean COLD. As in CHILLED. Like it came out of the fridge and they maybe put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. The outside was room temperature and the inside was cold enough to actually chill my fork when I put it in there. The potatoes the pot roast came with? Same deal. Cold on the inside, maybe room temp on the outside. And my friend with the shrimp? Poor woman had to sit and watch us eat because it was 30 minutes before she brought her out her shrimp dejonghe. And the waitresses response? "I can MAYBE get you a scoop of ice cream since you waited so long." At this point, we decided it wasn't even worth complaining. We just wanted to leave. No, we didn't want boxes. And by the way, yes, you STILL didn't bring our salad (but offered to AFTER we said we wanted the check). No apologies. No offer of a comp. Literally, nothing. And by the way, her shrimp tasted like it had an orange sauce on it. Gross enough that it wasn't worth even considering eating. We left ticked off and hungry. I'd love to say they were having a bad night, but I've given Cooper's three times now and I just can't. read more

I came here for a birthday dinner and left extremely dissatisfied. We were seated promptly, but the food took almost an hour to come out. Our drinks were not refilled promptly and once our food finally came our group of five thought it was all too salty. More than that, I have to issue a complaint because I am extremely allergic to dairy. I told this to the waitress and asked her if the item on the menu that said in bold words -Dairy Free- was completely free from the allergen. She assured me it was and told me she would also write a note on the ticket to the chef. Maybe it was mostly dairy free, but it immediately sent me into an allergy attack which required me to go home and take a massive dose of benadryl. I usually just order a salad to avoid things like this happening, but the menu so proudly proclaimed *dairy free*! Again, I doubt vegans or lactose intolerant people would've had an issue, but when someone actually asks you about an allergy and you ignore them or calm their fears, that is not okay. We've been meaning to try this place for some time, we're not sure if we will again. They had a hopping business on a Saturday lunch which really surprised us, but then we realized why. There were a couple of large groups in the restaurant. Unfortunately we were seated by one of them, close to 25 people. Besides for the extra noise, they stood near our table quite a bit. Pretty rude! We ordered burgers which were pretty large and tasty, but my wife's onion rings were greasy and not good. The building itself is beautiful and clean. Our server, who I think might be the manager, kept commenting/complaining about how busy they were and how hard it was to keep up. We received our bill about three minutes after receiving our food. What was suppose to be just a fun night out with my parents last night turned out to be a very uncomfortable evening. After multiple attempts from me and my parents to get this man to leave us alone, I had to confront a manager. After explaining the situation - that this man made multiple suggestive comments to me, spilled my drink, wouldn't stop staring at me, touched my hair, my back and drank out of my dad's wine glass (!?)- the first thing the manager asked was "Well did you ask him to leave?"....Multiple times my Dad and Mom turned him down on offers to buy us drinks and asked that he leave us be. Once the manager was convinced enough that there was a problem, he then came and told him to leave our table and sat down with us to "try" and keep him away. Once the manager left our table, the dude came back instantly, relentlessly asking if I would dance with him and even handed me his business card in front of my parents in which my mom said absolutely not and that he was crossing the line once again. The bar manager then came back and sat down with us, but did NOT ask this man to leave our table. I attempted to ignore him staring at me, but when I made eye contact with him he touched my back and winked at me. I then furiously stood up, told him he needed to leave and get the hell away from our table immediately, and stay away, all while the bar manager said NOT a goddamn word. Not only did all the civilians at the bar witness this inappropriate behavior, but as well as maybe 5 male waiters/bartenders and one male bar manager who was 50+ years of age. At what point do we hold people accountable for doing their damn job? This went on for almost an hour after informing the bar manager of this mans' inappropriate behavior. After that we left and I was given a half-assed apology from the bar manager who shook my hand and told me I did a good job speaking up and that he would never want anyone to feel uncomfortable in his bar.... I was trying to have a fun night with my family, in my hometown and it turned out to be an incredibly uncomfortable evening because of an overbearing wasted man who wouldn't take no for an answer, and because several male employees who couldn't be held responsible TO DO THEIR JOB. What is it going to take?! This happens far too often and sadly it will happen again. If you choose to sit back and watch something inappropriate unfold before your eyes, YOU ARE THE PROBLEM. But I'll tell you one thing, I for damn sure am not going to hold my breath waiting around on some man to stick up for me. I'm challenging men to be better than this. To take a stand and speak up.
