Pretty well kept resort with spaces for RV's/Trailers as well as 3 different types of cabins. Bathrooms/showers on site as well as laundry and propane fill station. Pool and outdated playground area. Mini golf and horseshoes. 50 & 30 amp along with water and sewer at most sites. Cell service is extremely limited if at all. WiFi is ok but have to log back in each hour. Seems to be 80% seasonal within the back wooded area. read more

So I came during weekday and not during their peak. There was hardly anyone so it was a good time to enjoy some quiet time. Rented their premium cabin, it was super clean and came with all the cookware and utensils. There seems to be big group of seasonal renters in the back. They have a bunch of little activities for kids to play but all the fields are small. Golf cart rental is a bit pricey but if you want to visit the site it can be useful. They enforce this 5mph rule so that even a golf cart is considered fast which is a bit annoying. Overall if you came with a bunch of friends and family and rented out couple cabins would be a really fun place. read more

This place is clean with nicely kept grassy and wooded areas. Very quiet. The pool is beautiful, heated, and very clean. I would estimate that about 70% is seasonal. All trailers and 5th wheels. All in good shape. We came in a 5th wheel. Site was spacious. Due to to some issues with our plumbing we were using the common restrooms and showers. Restrooms were very obviously not cleaned on a daily (or maybe even weekly) basis. The shower was a "push button" type requiring that we push the button every 20 seconds to keep the water flowing. This was quite annoying. I did alert office about the condition of the restroom and it was cleaned about 24 hours later. Great place if you don't need to use the "facilities" read more

I have so many things I could say about this resort, and all of them are EXCELLENT. I can't even begin to say how accommodating and kind Kellie and her husband are. When we had an issue or question, the staff were so helpful and offered solutions and suggestions. The campground itself is immaculate, the sites are large, the restrooms and showers are clean. The kids love the pool, playground and activities. Hands down 5 stars!! Please give this place a try! This year the campground is under new management, and they are fabulous!! read more

A great get away! Pet friendly and fun activities! I stayed the weekend and enjoyed a hot air balloon ride, good entertainment w/a live band, and a heated salt water pool. Very friendly camp workers and sesonals. My 2 suggestions would be to spend some money on a "adult pool". The kids in the pool were a little out of control w/an adult screaming at them from time to time. And to keep the store open late for ice cream. Thanks for a great weekend, I'll be back! read more

We stayed at Copake camping resort this past week. We had a beautiful site. The sites are very large. I would have preferred more privacy though. The office/store was great. Had everything you could need including food. The whole lace was immaculate. I even did laundry one day!! Also to pass along THIS IS NO LONGER A KOA. This is a very small campground and definitely geared towards the seasonal sites. Upon arrival I was hit with fees and deposits that were a bit ridiculous. The office closes at 8pm sharp every night, if you fail to arrive before then, you are out of luck and will lose your money. The store is extremely limited on supplies so stock up as there are no nearby stores. The store also closes at 8pm sharp. The sites themselves are decent but most are in full sun and very hot. The bugs are horrendous and was told could not put a bug tent as they are not allowed. The bathrooms are very clean and comfortable. I have never seen cameras outside bathrooms before, so kinda of creepy. I noticed cameras throughout the park. The staff was ok, not friendly especially the storm trooper patrol that starts at 10pm. As quiet time is 10pm. There is no quiet though as the golf carts doing their rounds every couple of minutes. They are patrolling to keep the quiet and if you are outside talking they will ask you to go inside your tent or camper. They patrol all night long and the constant roar of the carts are unnerving at night. Big brother is watching. I think the owner watched to many WWII movies as it does feel a prisoner camp. You are always watched. Even at the pool where there is a sign no lifeguards, but every five minutes someone is yelling from the loudspeakers, don't sit on the edge,stay away from the wall, splashing warnings etc. A bit over the top, As for activities, it is geared for the very young and thats it. The game room most games don't work and you are out of luck if you put money in them as the KOA claims they don't own or operate them. Another money making scam. Have lots of cash if you want to borrow a basketball or play miniature golf. The game cost 7 each plus 20 deposit each person for the club and ball. The bikes are run down and very expensive, and of course the cash deposit. If you are elderly and go to bed at 8pm and have a trailer; this is the place for you. If you want to enjoy yourself here, you can't the guards will be watching. Comment from owner says may not be place for me. Correct. Not that we are having wild parties but being allowed to sit quietly outside my camper/tent past 10 o'clock should not be an issue at any camp. I can see if we had radio playing loudly or making a lot of noise. Just a few of us. As I said this place is good for elderly folks turning in before 10. The ironic thing is quiet time is being interrupted constantly by the "roving patrols". They make more noise than the people staying there. Never seen anything quite like it at any other campground. I didn't mean the 1 star that was a mistake it is very clean. read more

We have been to many Koa camps over the years and this was the worst one by far. First time we have ever had to give a $100 cash depots at a site which seemed kind of sketchy. Then we get to the cabin we were staying in and half the floor was rotten... You could feel the wood under the laminate. We pulled the blinds down and the entire thing snapped in half... And of course we got charged for that. The cabin also had ants.... The playground is a hazard the monkey bars weren't secured into the ground everything was poorly taken care of. Also if you are going to be strict and make everyone follow the rules then follow them yourself my kids were almost hit by a golf cart speeding through a campsite... Not the road an empty site for a camper ... You're better off going to the Newburgh Koa read more

This place gets one star for its beautiful bathroom facilities. Other than that, it was our worst KOA camping experience. The owners and staff were rude and every interaction with them was a negative one. This is supposed to be camping... A laid back, relaxing time enjoying the company of family and friends. Instead, here you're being monitored and chased after by their golf carts. You're better off skipping this one and going to the Newburgh KOA instead. I would never recommend it to anyone. read more

Great family campground. Friendly staff. Activities daily: crafts, sports, Saturday night live music. We camped in a tent site that was wooded and fairly private with running water and electricity. Bathrooms were nearby the tent area and clean and well maintained. If you're camping in the RV or many of of cabin sites, there's limited privacy with sites side by side in an open field. Though I don't have an RV so this might be typical. Camp store is well stocked: camping essentials, beer, soda, snacks and limited groceries. No firewood from outside NY is allowed so you have to buy locally. You can buy it at the camp store - 4 bundles for $25 delivered to your site. It is slightly cheaper near entrance to Bash Bish Falls - $5 a bundle. If you forget, supplies there's an IGA 15 min away and the closest Walmart is 35 minutes. Overall great experience with kids...not sure it'd be a great fit for groups without kids. read more

We used to love camping at KOA copake when KOA owned it. We always go with at least three to five other families and have been doing so for years. But with the new owners/management it is a whole different negative ball game and I encourage everyone to stay away. We have a 3-night credit that they are refusing to validate, and are thus basically stealing our money. They were going to allow us to stay two nights, but when we gave them notice that we had to cancel due to family coronavirus concerns, there was no empathy at all and we were told that we would lose both nights unless we got tested and it came back positive!!!!! How insensitive can you be in the middle of a pandemic!!!! Additionally, after accepting that we would just lose those first two nights, when I spoke to the owner/manager Jim about refunding our third night, his response was disrespectful and unprofessional, with his establishment basically stealing our money from the first two nights and refusing to refund our third night. Stay away. Or be subjected to the highly unprofessional, disrespectful copake management and a campground that doesn't come close to measuring up to the koa,s, yogis, or other private campgrounds. read more

After a very long red eye, followed by a day of driving, we arrived at the pristine Copake KOA around 7:30 in the evening. Our check in experience was easy and the gentleman who led us to our spot was very helpful. My husband and I both understood (or seemly misunderstood) the pool closing time to be 8 pm and very innocently told our kids if they wanted to jump in before closing, they had 15 minutes. Our 17 year old, who had also been traveling for over 24 hours, loved the idea and went running over. In his 17 year old boy style, and one to which I don't approve, he jumped over the four foot fence, not going around to the gate, which we didn't see, and would have talked to him about if we had so. As my husband and I were walking to the store to by firewood, and not having seen our boy jump the fence, we heard over the loudspeaker someone yelling at him to get out of the pool in a way that was extremely harsh and uncalled for. We went into the office and explained/apologized that it was a very innocent mistake on our part and he wasn't to blame for being in the pool. Meanwhile, the owner of the camp and one other gentlemen escorted our kid to our RV yelling at him the entire time, and once at the RV, yelled our other boy who didn't know anything about the situation. They were told that they were delinquents and that our family, not being a responsible group, was kicked out of the park. Two adults yelling at kids, without asking if they knew the pool was closed or having a civilized conversation about jumping fences, WOW. Now, I agree that jumping the fence was wrong, stupid and impolite, but don't yell at my kids - they are under 18 and it is not your place in any circumstance. After yelling at the kids he came and told us that if it had been his kid, he would have beaten him, and then told us to get out of the park, we weren't welcome. He was literally shaking in anger and beyond reason. He told us this before listening to what we had to say. Truly unbelievable behavior from an adult man who is speaking to otherwise happily paying clients. I don't care how long of a day anyone has had, it was truly uncalled for. If both my husband and I weren't both deliriously tired, and if we had known there was another spot for us nearby, we would have MORE than happily left. Given the area and our tired state of mind, we apologized. Our son went to the store and apologized personally to the owner as well. The lessons we talked about with the kids that night were not to be stupid, silly and jump fences, but more importantly, how NOT to treat people and how and why to manage bullies. As a place that markets family fun, it's surprising that one would not expect or be prepared to deal with honest mistakes by patrons and minor antics of teenagers. I am 14 year veteran of the tourism industry, and traveled worldwide for seven months a year for 14 years. Our industry, the hospitality industry, is one that is generally dedicated to the service of our clients and creating a state of happiness and serenity, not a police state. When issues arise, as they always do, our industry handles them with grace and style. I strongly say I will NEVER bring my family to this beautiful, clean KOA site again. read more

Its immaculate and pristine, very clean, but unnecessarily pretentious, with the gated entraces and exits which you have to have a gate card for. Unfortunately if you are a early bird, like me, and you unwittingly find yourself on the wrong side of the gates at 7 am while looking for the laundry mat, Lord help you. They threatened to keep me locked out until the office opened at 8 am. I very politely told them they had more than one opportunity to give me a gate card and did not do so. Very off putting to be scolded like that treated like a child. It really ruined the experience for me. Not a place i will ever return to. read more

I will never go to this campground again as long as the current management is there. My dog got attacked by other dogs allowed to roam loose. Owners are rude. So..the campground is well kept but the if you have issues they certainly don't go out of their way to resolve issues. So let me know when new people take over and We will come back. read more

We spent 2 nights here in a cabin. Very clean spotless!! Bathrooms spotless! Had a nice time everyone was very friendly. Nice pool, nice game room, kid crafts were a hit with my child. Missed the crowd staying mid week so place was extra quiet. Only issue was cost of firewood since no outside wood could be used. I read about about the deposits so I wasn't upset assume that's why things are so well kept. read more

We recently stayed at the KOA in Copake, New York for two nights. The sight was not level enough to comfortably pull our slides out and had a terrible sewer odor. The bugs were horrific. We would NOT stay there again and would advise anyone else to look elsewhere. We are full timers and were here for an engagement party. Most of our family had never seen our 42' motorhome and that they were all here for the engagement party, prior to their leaving for Long Island, the limousine van made a detour to stop by to see it. It is a large and busy camp with lots of rules. Rules are good, they keep things orderly. We pulled into the gate with the limo following us and my husband got out of the car to talk to the owner to ask permission for their entry to visit for a few minutes prior to getting on the road to leave. He said no way! My husband assured him it would only be a few minutes and the owner said its never only 5 minutes, It seemed he believed they were here to party. That could not have been further from the truth. We are all professionals who were completely insulted by this categorical mistrust. We were paying $50 per nite for one of the worst parks we have been in. It is noisy, loudspeaker parties and everyone crammed in for optimum money making for this owner and his wife, The Gerhards. I had never been so rudely treated and when I was rude back, he was shocked. Isn't that what you get when you don't treat people as individuals and size them up before giving then the benefit of the doubt? We had small children in the van and so they left. We hadn't seen them in years, this was our opportunity to at least give them a glimpse of our life, and he completely ruined our time in Copacke! What a beautiful area that doesnt deserve such an ugly human being owning the land. Oh well, we move on and can warn you ahead of time, find someplace else to stay!! read more

I we have been camping at Copake KOA for five years. I have never been treated so rudely by the staff and the owners in my life. We camp at a lot of campgrounds across various states every camp ground has rules, we never leave our site as we camp with 6-12 other families. We are all professionals. Some people we camp with get five week ends year to camp and we selected to spend one of the camping weekends here. Worst decision-ever unless you want to be treated disrespectfully and rude. I don not recommend this place to any one. No longer a family friendly campground. Very clear the owners no longer have to love or passion for the business. On another not they put their staff who have to work all day in the middle of the people that pay to be here. The quiet times 10 pm- 8 am, if at 10:05 you are talking at your site you are in trouble. read more

So many terrible experiences with this campground, not just one. Over the course of a few years it has just gotten worse and worse. Once it switched from the KOA to the resort, it has been nothing but downhill. In the past we have been charged incorrectly, getting an invoice that correctly states what we paid for, then getting called asking for more money because they charged us wrong. This happened more then once. They weren't understanding at all at the beginning of covid and gave us difficulty switching a holiday weekend reservation....finally putting us on this mysterious wait list, supposedly on the top, to then telling us there is a slim chance to getting in, to then suddenly having a site after I told them I was booking another campground. When we showed up for that weekend MULTIPLE sites were open, when we were told they were sold out. They do not answer the phone or call you back, however if you Facebook message them they respond and then call you. Lots of turn over in management, with no one really knowing what is going on. Terrible refund policy that was suddenly revamped and it's still not great. They seem to cater to the seasonals and transients are 2nd fiddle. I have been to many campgrounds, have camped my entire life and have never experienced such poor customer service on multiple occasions. We were not the only individuals that have had such a poor experience. They have lost a ton of business due to their lack of empathy, adaptability, communication and the ability to take responsibility for their own mistakes. read more

We enjoyed everything about this campground and plan on returning often. The entire grounds are clean and well maintained including the bathrooms and showers. There were plenty of activities to participate in if you want or you could just relax and enjoy the tranquility as we did. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely recommend this campground to anyone looking for a peaceful, fun filled, pet friendly place to be with your loved ones. read more

New owner. General manager and staff are extremely friendly. Ten Stars!! Sites are large. Park including bathrooms are clean. Love express check in. Didn't have to get out of our truck. We have camped here approximately three times for the fall special with family and friends. Since the new management took over the pool was open this time, September 2018, and we were all glad we had the opportunity to use the same. Pool was crystal clear. Lots of activities for kids and adults. This is by far the best time we ever had. Don't miss this campground what a wonderful experience we had. Great new management and staff. *******Attention dog lovers!!!! We had the worst time ever here at this campground. While walking my dog on his lease another dog in the campground broke lose and attacked him! He was seriously hurt and the owners of the campground Gary and Kathy were totally heartless about this situation!!! We had to rush our dog to the vets and while he was in surgery we came back to the campgrounds to get our RV to obviously leave and when we stop at the office to inform them they said "Sorry no refund:s " Even thou we were only there for one night and paid for 3...They NEVER ask about our dog or if he was even going to survive!!!!! I hope it is true about the saying what comes around goes around to these people. read more

This being our 3rd time at this facility, last year being a group of 60+ people with no issues.....this family of owner/operators are obviously not enjoying there careers anymore.... The issues are almost too much to list on here.....Going to give it a try anyway.... Policy states, "Owner must bring Proof of rabies shots for dogs", I brought my dog with his vaccination tag on his collar, with his registration and name/info collar too....apparently that is not good enough, they want paper documentation, do they realize that those tags are official and aren't able to be purchased at the local Walmart and the paper receipt is no more or less proof of vaccination, it does not have a picture of the dog or an ID #........They graciously decided to let my dog in with the proof I supplied but obviously decided they were going to hold a grudge about it.....why bother? The second someone apparently complained about a dog "off leash" the arrogant and overzealous owner and his sidekick immediately came to my site and was accusatory and confrontational, my dog never came off his lead!! The owner wouldn't even listen to his own employee that it wasn't my dog......he half heartedly apologized and went a few sites down to "confront" a fellow camper, WAY OUT OF LINE!!! At that point I was still considering looking for a seasonal site at this campground, so I decided to unload my new golf cart and join the others that were cruising around the campground and get a tour of possible seasonals..... Upon my return I was informed that I was not allowed to use my golf cart unless I was a seasonal camper and that I had been here before so I should "know better" about golf carts and rabies certificates at which time I informed the arrogant owner that I had neither a dog or a golf cart on my previous visits so I was unaware of those particular policies....... I immediately parked my cart under the front of my fifth wheel(my garage is also a bedroom and I couldn't put the cart back in) and went about my day, they returned to "tell" me to "put it away" even though I had not used it again..... It just got worse from there, I'm not even going to go on, camping is supposed to be about fun, nature and family but this owner missed the boat and made KOA stand for Krass Overzealous Arrogant read more

I've been to the Copake KOA several times now. First impression is the campground is clean and well taken care of. The first time we camped here was in 2010, immediately following the purchase by the new owners. The place was a shambles to say the least. The transformation over the last six years has been miraculous. The staff is courteous and accommodating, the sites are large and well tended. They arrange activities for all ages. There is no boredom there if you are willing to participate in the planned activities. Every Saturday night there is top rate entertainment. The bathroom facilities are awesome. Each unit is entire bathroom suite with toilet, sink and shower. The surrounding area is beautiful, with farms, mountains. Bash Bish falls is close by if you're looking for a nice hike. Catamount ski area has a great zip line park during the warmer weather. Great Barrington and the surrounding vicinity offer many food, art and music alternatives for those so inclined. We stayed here in our fifth wheel and recommend that you try this campground out. read more
