As someone who eats a lot of veggie meat, I must say I loved the two vegan sausages (Mexican chipotle and vegan Italian)! The condiments bar was pretty extensive with more than 10 sauces and some veggie toppings like sauerkraut & relish to choose from. The service was also quick and friendly, with the waiter being very patient answering all our questions. Only reason I knocked a star off was for a lot of the seating being a bit in the sun. We had to wait for people to be done under the shade so we could move tables. Then also the fries and hoagie bread was good but nothing outstanding. All things said, I'd come back if I was in Solvang!

It was a good experience at the Copenhagen sausage garden. It was just my hubby and me and we had been eating all day so we decided to come here and get a few things to share. We tried the 3 piece sausage sampler (with bratwurst, keibasa, and jalapeño cheddar), and a barvarian pretzel with cheese sauce. The hubby also got a red lager beer. The food was good, served warm and fairly quickly considering how busy it was getting. It was cool to be able to select different flavors of sausage and even more so the different flavors of dipping sauce. Definitely recommend coming. The only negative would be that it was windy and chilly and they only have outside seating (or you have the option to take it to go! Overall good place!

Let me start with what I liked about this place: 1. Home made Sausages and burgers 2. Sauces upon sauces which add so much flavor 3. Outdoor was so fun and nice 4. Not bad on the price What makes this 3.5 stars 1. The plastic cups they use are all dirty, had to change out a few because of dirt inside. 2. Fresh lemonade for $5 a cup is actually a mix and sounds like fresh squeezed but is not. 3. Bathrooms were quite unclean Overall service was ok and the food shines, the reasons why I rounded up versus down was 50/50 but the food did make it go up.

We came an hour before close and we were so glad to be able to try this place out! We ordered at the front and grabbed a table and sat down with our number. There is a sauce and toppings bar under the TVs so you can grab as many sauces as you would like. We got a couple beers, 3 sausage sampler, and a side of german potato salad. For the sausages, we tried the bratwurst, jalapeno cheddar, and the currywurst. The currywurst is my favorite, it really reminds me of being back in denmark and my partner really enjoyed the jalapeno cheddar. It was quite chilly at night so I recommend bringing a jacket but I imagine this place to be pretty fun to go when there are games on!

Copenhagen Sausage Garden is located in the heart of Solvang. They offer a variety of sausages with their most popular being the Brarwurst, Kielbasa, and Jalapeño Cheddar Bacon. Seating is communal and is first come first serve. They have some patio coverings allowing some shade but be prepared to wear your sunscreen, as you might be seated under the sun. While the line was long during the lunch hour, I was surprised to find that it moved quickly and I was able to place my order within 10 minutes of waiting in line. Our group ordered the Sausage Sampler with the top 3 sausages (mentioned above) including the Currywurst, which was my least favorite. What I enjoyed from the top 3 were the flavor and the snap from each sausage. The hoagie roll was good if you wanted to add toppings to your sausage. The Apple & Arugula Salad was nice and refreshing. I really enjoyed their Pretzel with Cheese Sauce. We ordered some soft drinks but they were sort of flat. The workers came by the clean up the tables and get more people seated. I appreciated that. The restrooms were surprisingly clean. Overall, nice spot to enjoy some beer and sausage in sunshine.

Placed an order and seating was outdoors. The weather was great. I love a good self-serve condiment bar and this was one of the best. Countless sauces, onions and sauerkraut. We got a variety of sausages and they were all stupendous. There were a few sauces I didn't prefer, but that's the beauty of a sauce bar. Just get something else. We decided to get a pretzel too. The cheese sauce that came with it was amazing. I would've been fine with just that sauce for the pretzel. It was that good. We cleaned up and kept walking around the town. I definitely recommend stopping in here for something small or large.

Delicious!! Outdoor venue. Feels like I'm at the ball game. We did the 4 sausage special. It was a little pricey for 4 at $26.95. They do have a good variety of flavors to choose from. We got 2 brat, 1 spicy & 1 chicken/apple andoille. We ordered the largest Bavarian pretzel ice ever seen with cheese sauce. It was $11.95 of a 1/2 order of fries. Total was about $55 including 1 drink. The a have a sauce bar with a bunch of different flavors of topping for the sausage. My 1st impression of the pretzel was that it was too over cooked but that was a thin piece. My husband told me that it was soft & Delicious so I gave it another try & it was. The beer cheese was bomb! We loved all the sausages. Great back up since our original dinner plans went south real quick.

Copenhagen Sausage Garden is a great casual stop if you're craving German-style sausages and beer while visiting Solvang. The ordering process is simple--line up at the counter, place your order, grab a number, and find a seat at one of the shaded outdoor picnic tables while they prepare your food. We ordered: Sausage Sampler $21.95 + $2 for 2 buns - Bratwurst, Kielbasa & Chicken Apple Bavarian Pretzel $11.95 Onion Rings $11.95 & Fries $6 German Potato Salad $4 Beer Sampler $18 One thing I really liked was the self-serve condiment station. While waiting for your food, you can help yourself to sauerkraut and a variety of sauces including BBQ, curry ketchup, Dijon mustard, honey mustard, sweet & sour, spicy brown mustard, and Coney Island sauce. It's fun to try different combinations. The Bavarian pretzel was soft, chewy, and freshly baked--exactly the texture I enjoy. The onion rings had a thick, crispy batter that stayed crunchy and paired perfectly with the dipping sauces. The Sausage Sampler was a great way to try different flavors, and I enjoyed all three sausages - Bratwurst, Kielbasa & Chicken Apple. I didn't like the German salad, it is cold and doesn't taste good. If you're undecided on what to drink, I highly recommend ordering the Beer Sampler. You can choose six different beers, making it a fun way to sample a variety without committing to a full pint. Overall, Copenhagen Sausage Garden is a fun, laid-back spot with hearty food, plenty of outdoor seating, and a great selection of sauces and beers. It's definitely worth a stop when you're exploring Solvang.

Sausage Platter, Schnitzel, Potato Salad and Cheese Curds

While on a road trip from LA back to San Francisco my family and I decided to stop in Solvang for the first time. While exploring we found Copenhagen Sausage Garden and it was such a great surprise! The dining area was spacious and had a lot of shaded areas to sit. We shared a few dishes including some cheese curds, a schnitzel with potato salad, a sausage platter with rolls and a pretzel with beer cheese. We went to the condiment station and picked out a bunch of their options to try. The food came out fairly quickly for how many people were there. We enjoyed the sausage platter the most but everything here was solid. The basket of cheese curds with all of the sauces was the first to be finished amongst the family. They really were great! This place was such a pleasant surprise and anytime I drive through California I'll make sure to make a stop here.

We love this place, they have a very good selection of food and drinks, we try a variety of sausages and the beer flies and they were just great. Also the place is huge for large parties, they are pretty fast in terms of serving the food, i thing everything we try was just delicious, also The staff is very helpful, maybe i will work in the cleaning of the areas bc it was trash on the floors and also the restrooms were a mess.

this restaurant is a order at counter and self-seating type joint. the California burger was just what you'd expect of a smash burger. the vegan sausage was pretty good with the hoagie. there's lots of sauces to choose from as well which helped to make each dish exactly what you would like. the service is fast and the staff are friendly. the self seating is outdoors and mostly shaded. there's restrooms available for customers.

This is a great spot that has lots of outdoor seating. You walk up and order at the register and then grab whatever table is open. They give you a number and bring you your food. There are TVs outside. Food is good. We tried two different kinds of sausage and they were pretty tasty. They have all kinds of sauces and toppings. The condiment bar is honestly the most impressive thing. They have sauerkraut, jalapeños and pepperoncini. The beer is very cold. It's delicious. The only thing I didn't love was the pretzel. It was pretty dry. Not my favorite thing. If I go again, I would just do the sausage sampler. That's the best part.

What type of casing is used for the chicken apple and vegan sausages?

I could be wrong, but my first thought was that they were Field Roast sausages, or at least very similar to them, which use vital wheat gluten and has no casing. Whatever they use, it's delicious!

Do you allow dogs in the patio area?

Yes we do! We are pet friendly!

    No happy hour.

Are any of your sausages (meat) gluten free? Thank you.

Hello, yes all of the sausages are gluten-free and can even be paired with a gluten free roll for sausages, or bun for the burgers offered as well.

Do you have any vegan options?

Two vegan, plant-based sausages are offered that are separated from any non-vegan products, try the Mexican Chipotle if you're in the mood for some spice!

Do the rolls/buns for the sausages and the Barvarian pretzel have any dairy or egg my son has a diary and egg allergy?

I honestly don't think they skip the dairy on pretzel. It was really good though

Absolutely! We are very dog friendly.

Are the Vegan Sausages Also Gluten Free? Is the Gluten free bread Vegan?
