And it's a go-to stop for gift purchasing (we've purchased board books from here to send to friends who've had babies!). They sell so many treasures! Of course they sell books, but they also sell vinyl records, local art (custom dog paintings caught our eye!!!), games, and more. On our recent visit, we enjoyed looking through their many board games. Need to add a new one to our collection soon. Don't despair, Levin also has an art gallery and sells records and CDs. There are many pages of writing in folders called books. These 'books' are placed on tables and shelves according to category, with signs that require even more reading. Levin's is a wonderland of great books, and so inviting. A clerk spent 15 minutes with us giving useful suggestions for our summer reads collection. There truly is something for everyone here. Except wine. It's good to buy a couple of books for a long plane ride, or other situations where your cell battery died & you might otherwise be forced to observe your surroundings or interact with another human. It just dawned on me that Russian River Books reminds me of an equally amazing bookshop with adjacent café in Jaipur I was once very grateful for finding. Amazing how bookshops can still be such a focal point all over the world. Russian River Books seems pivotal in organising and holding local events, book-related or otherwise, and having a great café right there with lots of seating indoors and out makes for a spacious, leisurely read. Michael the owner is super welcoming and his lovely dog makes it very homely. Should have made it back to chat some more! They have such a great range of books, queer and otherwise (see photos), and sell literary-adjacent t-shirts, totes and tchotchkes. There's even a secondhand book section! This place is so cool. I am in awe of the care that he took to create such a perfect finished project. Most important: The transfer sounds flawless. Not a pop or scratch. Just pure, beautiful music as if it were remastered. He carefully separated out each song on its own track. As a bonus, he carefully labelled each track so that when I ripped it to MP3 files they are all correctly named and organized into a labeled album. This is the first time I have ever written a negative review…read more After repeatedly visiting this store and after spending many hundreds of dollars over the past WEEK (which is significant considering the average cost per item at the store), not to mention hundreds of others over the last year, the owner and the store manager just falsely accused my wife of stealing gum And hair clips. The accusation is bizarre considering how much money we actually spent at the store versus the items she accused us of stealing, not to mention my wife's general morals and character. In reality, the gum and hair clips were paid for at the end of their visit to the store along with all the other items purchased (multiple gifts in triplicate for our nieces and daughter). After my wife tried to explain all of this, and after being met with continued rudeness, she asked if our three year old could use the bathroom and they denied her the right to do so. Clearly, we will never come back. I will also seek out other avenues to post this message on including the better business beuerau and chamber of commerce. This isn't the first time I have seen a brown skinned woman falsely accused of shoplifting, and I'm sure it won't be the last, but it is disgusting none the less. I wish I could give zero stars. I feel sorry for the store owner who must be a sad and miserable person to act so bizarrely and rudely against her own interest. Our dollars will go elsewhere and I encourage you to do the same.
