My mom and I are both in physical therapy at the same time at different businesses. The staff at this location let me watch my mom during her sessions. I'm in pt at a large hospital with dozens of patients in the waiting room at any given time. This location had one other person in the waiting room and just us. My mom's physical therapist was very nice. He patiently worked with my mom and had her take breaks in between exercises. He explained things in layman's terms and praised mom when as she completed each exercise. I was very impressed at the kindness displayed to me and my mom. The equipment looks similar to what is in my facility, minus a therapy pool. They have another location that has a pool. The equipment is in great condition. The therapy bike is easy to use. When my mom had car issues and was going to be late, the staff was able to change her appointment so she could arrive later. The receptionist was nice to us. On May 15th I snapped my fibula in 2 places, fractured my tibia, and snapped a ligament. May 16th surgery resulted in 30 staples, 3 screws for the tibia, and 12 screws with a stainless steel plate for the fibula. I began rehab on June 25th wearing a boot with limited ankle flexibility and body balance. This severely limited my capability to perform a number of routine tasks, from walking across a room to navigating steps. Rehab was 6 weeks, 3 days each week, one hour each visit. The rehab included passive and active treatments. The former was ankle and calf massaging in the first half hour and then ice/compression to end the hour. In between were a series of specifically targeted motion tasks that were layered one after another to build both confidence and capability in performing everyday tasks to more athletically challenging functions. During the whole process the entire staff was supportive, encouraging, informative, friendly and responsive. Scheduling was flexible and convenient. read more

I have just completed 8 weeks of therapy at CORA-Hardy for a BADLY torn rotator cuff. My regimen included treatment to alleviate pain and increase mobility, strength, endurance, and flexibility. My outcomes were very positive, with marked improvement in all areas over the treatment period. My goal was to avoid surgery if at all possible, and although I still have some minor limitations, I am confident that surgery will not be necessary. Had nerve damage from a negative drug reaction that severely affected my right hand, arm and shoulder (unfortunately my dominant side). My primary care physician referred my to CORA at Westlake. When I started therapy in early December 2019 I could not raise my right arm more than a few degrees above vertical and could not lift even a one pound weight above shoulder height. David did the initial assessment, spending a lot of time asking questions about my condition, tests and results, abilities, pain, etc. It was very thorough and gave them an excellent understanding of my condition. They also asked about goals, things I would like to be able to do with successful therapy. With all of this they were able to design a comprehensive therapy plan, targeting my most critical needs, with intermediate goals and assessments to measure progress. They also provided home exercise plans that were quite helpful in between my therapy appointments. Most of my therapy sessions were with Neil, but occasionally with David. Neil was very attentive, always asked about my progress and how I was progressing toward being able to do the things I wanted to be able to do again. He would tailor each session based on my progress and goals, being careful to provide a mix of exercises to not overexert any particular area.
