Tried this gem on a Sunday late morning and was pleasantly surprised! It's located in small plaza with very limited parking, but there is pay by phone spots not that far away from it. When you step in, you can tell the place has been there a awhile. Didn't really know what to expect at first. We were seated after waiting maybe minutes, and once we got a table, service was quick after that (up until it was time to get the check). I got some coffee and so did person I went with, and was glad they had milk alternative for them. They had plenty of options for good but went based off my servers recommendation which was the breakfast quesadilla. And OMG, it did not disappoint! I was scared at first it wouldn't have much flavor but it did, and exceeded my expectation. It was cut into 3 and took one slice home, and just when I thought it couldn't taste any better, it was just as good the following day. My companion got the jack and avocado + side. It had been years since I visited this place. It's tucked away in a strip mall and it's usually packed on the weekends in the morning. They have a great selection of bagels and breakfast items for a reasonable price. Their omelettes are delicious. The Greek Omelette is one of my favorites. The omelette is filled with spinach and feta. You can also build your own omelette. My boyfriend was craving a Reuben sandwich so he build his omelette with corned beef pastrami and Swiss cheese. He added some Spicy mustard and viola a Rueben. Their waffles are light and fluffy. Their servers have been there for years so the service is great. I haven't been here in 7 years and I was randomly craving biscuits with gravy so this hidden gem popped into my head! I arrived at 06:30am where the place was just opening. I noticed that there was plenty of parking and that the building was repainted nicely on the outside since the last time I'd eaten here. I walked in and was given a warm welcome with my choice of seating. I sat in a booth by the window and she immediately brought me coffee with a water seconds after I had asked. I told her I knew exactly what I wanted. As a matter of fact I went ham on the breakfast menu since I hadn't treated myself in a long time. Biscuits with gravy, scrambled eggs, fries, ham, and of course I'll take an everything bagel please ma'am! I have pictures of this heavenly breakfast for your viewing pleasure below. Placed my order for a bagel & berries at 10:50 on a Sunday morning. To be clear, Coral Bagels is less than 2 miles from my home. My order arrived about 2 1/2 hours later. Granted, the fault probably lay with Postmates as far as time (the delivery girl mentioned SIX deliveries before mine) but regardless, the fact that my "berries" were basically about 5 strawberries quartered that I was charged $6 is ridiculous. Bagel was ok but hard & cold. Veggie cream cheese was good but couldn't make up for everything else. I ordered Uber eats and paid like 70.00 for breakfast crazy right? Well I got my order an hour after. Cold missing items. My daughter asked for 2 sunny side up eggs with cheddar cheese and it looked like a train wreck it had 1 1/2 eggs with cheddar on top smeared looked like an unwrapped taco. She asked for a plain bagel with cream cheese but of course most restaurants like this one have a hard time reading orders so I guess they felt that it wasn't necessary to put into the order. She ordered fruit and it came in a cortadito cup. Very small!! My wife ordered a traditional eggs Benedict and came unprepared. Her side items never came. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese. No cream cheese. The part that upsets me is I called to notify of missing items and someone seems to be playing with phone and no one is able to speak to you. I love this place, but I give it 3 stars for the following reasons: - service is not consistent (some servers are much more attentive than others) - the food is a little greasy - I've started getting the egg white omelet because the regular eggs are just cooked in WAY too much oil. - the place is small and crowded - though, arguably that's what gives it part of its charm. This is for me a classic 3.5 star place (so I'm rounding up). The service is indeed excellent, and we were a very large party with two kids included. Our wait person was so attentive, if even a bit impatient with us. The whitefish salad has a great reputation, although I did not try it. My egg white omelette was very good, but nothing exceptional. I am sorry to have to write this review. I have reached out to all appropriate channels to try to reach an acceptable resolution before addressing this publically. But the inaccuracy, ineptitude, and poor customer service combined has left me with no other means to address this. I ordered from this location via an online food delivery service yesterday. The restaurant immediately called me to let me know they didnt have 2 of the 3 items available so I thanked them, canceled my order, and told them I'd try them again another day. Today was that day. I ordered three meals for three people. (Over-well eggs and bacon, shrimp & grits, and lobster mac n cheese). After waiting an hour for the order to arrive, the driver informed me upon delivery that the restaurant didn't have one of the items, the lobster mac, so it wasn't included in the bag. I felt so bad and upset that after all this time, the third person would be left hungry. I was livid they wouldn't even call as they had yesterday. If I had known, I would have replaced the order or cancelled, but we were t given that choice. They just showed up with one meal completely left out. What were we supposed to do at this point? The other two of us scrambled to pool half of our food to give to the other person, who then felt bad for taking part of our food. But the situation worsened when we opened the shrimp & grits that was supposed to come with a side of sliced tomatoes, a croissant, and a paid upcharge of chive cream cheese. None of that arrived. So now only a quarter of the second meal arrived. My meal was the last one, and mine too came with a croissant. Which I would now be sharing between 3 people. I opened my box and my overwell eggs were so runny that the white was still even slimy. I hate yolk and unfortunately now it was running all over the rest of my items in my dish. So my meal too was ruined. I called the restaurant directly, spoke to Shelly, and after some initial hesitation she soon sincerely appologized and told me to contact the ordering app and they would issue me a full refund of the order. She then also offered to allow me to order something additional "on the house". I politely declined, I don't want to take advantage of anyone, I'm just looking for what's right, which is for the order to be refunded since nothing was correct. I called the order app. They refused to refund me. I escalated the call to a manager. The manager said the restaurant had to approve a full refund and asked me to hold while she called. I told her I had spoken to the very nice woman Shelly who answers the phone and she was polite with me, apologized, and referred me to the app to get the full refund. So with that information the app manager put me on hold to speak with her. Upon returning to our call, the order ap manager informed me that Shelly decided to reneg on her offer to make it right and told the app she would only approve a refund on the Lobster mac and the shrimp and grits order. Not mine, even though it too, was incorrect. Even though our entire experience was beyond poor. More than anything, I'm upset that the restaurant has chosen to be unethical, lied to me about making it right, and lost my trust in them as a customer over a $10 difference. They had the opportunity to make it right, and despite the plethora of mistakes made, I would have ordered them again because I am patient and understanding and often give second chances as long as honesty is maintained. I felt like a fool speaking with the app manager who then had to question my integrity and wonder if I was making up Shelly's offer to fully refund me. The whole thing left me thoroughally embarrassed, hungry, and upset. I generally write reviews only if I have something nice to say, and try to resolve issues with the business directly, but it seems the business was unwilling to do the right thing here. I don't think they know what it is like to be in company with someone who is left with NOTHING to eat while everyone else is left with something but incorrect. And I was still trying to be patient and discrete in my dealings with them. I still didnt take advantage of Shelly's offer of extra things thinking she'd do the right thing by me. Tucked away just off US-1, this no frills diner is as close as you can get to an NY bagel. Great prices considering its proximity to Coconut Grove, fast service, and incredible bagel breakfast sandwiches. I've explored most of the menu, and while their eggs benedict and traditional breakfasts are good, the bagels are what makes this place special. Their pumpernickel bagel with veggie cream cheese spread is my go-to and never disappoints. Fresh bagels and bagel breakfast sandwiches are can't miss items here. I've been there twice, and ordered bagels to go. Both times I walked in and was out of there within 7 minutes waiting time tops. They do not disappoint, the bagels are delicious! Nice size plump, warm and fresh bagels served with a very decent amount of cream cheese topping of choice. One bagel is filling and enough. I've tried their Nova cream cheese spread and their Honey spread both different yet delicious in their own way. For the bread choice, I had Multi-grain and Cinnamon- Raison. The Multi-grain was good except I thought it was a bit salty from sea salt being added but still good. You just have to balance it with a sweeter spread instead. I want to come on a weekend when I have more time and sit down and have an "official" breakfast since everything on the menu sounds great. Prices are decent as well. (2) bagels were $7 but were huge and filling, so worth it. Both times, the ladies behind the counter were friendly and a pleasure to speak with. The dining area is the mix of one part moose lodge, one part old cabin, one part man cave that your weird uncle has, and one part 1970's nostalgia- it's weird. I noticed myself just staring at what was hanging up thinking, DAFUQ? That aside, my waitress was great. My glass was never empty. Side note: I drink a lot of liquid when I eat and she constantly made sure my glass was refilled- even when it was only halfway empty. I ordered the meat lovers omelette with potatoes and a sesame bagel. Now the bad part of my experience was that it took about 35-40 minutes to get my food- not really the fast diner experience I had wanted. She had asked if I wanted my bagel while I waited. I declined as I wanted it all together. My waitress kept apologizing, but still no food- not her fault, I get it. When I did get my order, it was great. I have absolutely no complaints about anything I ordered. Steam literally was rolling off of my plate so I know it wasn't just sitting there and someone forgot to send it out to me. I would go back, but wouldn't rush back there. I also wouldn't go back there if I were in a rush. An hour in a diner seems a link long when you're dining alone in my opinion. I came here on a Saturday morning to bring bagels for my coworkers. This was my first time here but apparently this bagel place has been a landmark breakfast joint in the Gables for years. Walked in and it was packed. Furniture was very dated. Order counter was in the middle of the restaurant. A friendly young lady took my to-go order right away. Then she told me to pick it up on the other side? Pickup counter was on the left side at the end of the bar seating area where you have to push your way in between people eating their breakfast...weird. Ordered 2 bagels w/ smear and lox platter for myself. Bagels were fresh overflowing with cream cheese. My lox dish was just ordinary. I saw the lady behind the counter peeling them off from what it looked like a store bought plastic pouch. I should've tried their breakfast sandwich or omelette instead but was in a hurry. The service is terrible, coffee is the worst right be ever had and the bagel is just ok, by far not the best in Miami. It took 25 min for a couple of bagels and spread to be brought to the table. After placing our order, the waitress came back 15min later to ask again what kind of bagels and cream cheese we wanted and then 10 min later, still brought the wrong cream cheese! The little cream cheese side is not big enough for a bagel, they make you pay for more, just so you can have enough. Then the owner came to the table and very aggressively asked "can I talk to you", because I had very politely complained to the waitress. I kept telling the owner "I don't want to argue, just bring me my check so I can leave" she kept wanting to fight me until I raised my voice a bit and said "just please bring me my check, I just want to pay and get out of here" Every weekend I typically go to Bagel Emporium in Coral Gables, which is amazing! This place has amazing food. Always busy. Usually a wait for the location. The food quality is fantastic. They have a nice variety. A couple waitresses are extremely slow when serving. Lucy is by far one of the best we have had the pleasure sitting with. This is an older diner, has a quaint feeling to it. I gave 4 stars as when you visit this location, you will likely leave smelling like food as the ventilation is not the best. The food is worth it though. They have something for everyone. He recently introduced me to the place & I have been nothing but extremely satisfied too say the least each time I've visited! Leo who has been there every time I've gone and has taken care of me each time does an OUTSTANDING job! He always makes sure I'm taken care of & my food is always hot, fresh & DELICIOUS! You can tell leo has been there awhile he definitely knows what he's doing and has always given me great service very friendly.
