I have never looked forward to getting my teeth cleaned, but since I've started coming to Coral Gables Dentistry I do! I have very sensitive teeth that have gotten more sensitive as I've gotten older. I am usually very tense in the chair, gripping the arm pads...Now, with the warm neck wrap, blanket, music, and nitrous oxide it's like going to a spa. The hygienist uses numbing gel and is very gentle. With Covid, the office is very careful, you call when you arrive and they get the room ready and you go right in. Also, they ask that you bring your own blanket and music/headphones. They are definitely being very careful in how they handle patients. I highly recommend them! read more

I came to Coral Gables Dentistry on the recommendation or rather the insistance of a dear friend who was a patient. Thanks to a number of misfortunate experiences, I had been avoiding the dentist for over 20 years and for those same 20 years used every kind of over the counter tooth adhesive to glue and re glue a front tooth crown that had come off. Needles to say that was not the right solution and created other dental problems. On my first visit I was immediately taken by the manner and camaraderie in which the entire office staff operated. Regardless of who was assigned to you, each person was engaging, attentive and helpful. With pause and concern, Dr. Osorio listened patiently and examined my case and proceeded to explain a plan of action that would restore not only my smile, but my confidence. No doubt that dental technology has advanced in the last 20 years and Dr. Osorio is a master at it. She proceeded with all the necessary treatments from numbing to finish while I kept a nervous stranglehold on the chairs forearms. Not only am I still waiting for the discomfort and pain, but I had to apologize for having fallen asleep (no gas) while she worked on me!!! I could never imagine the experience. The BEST dentist I have ever been to. I actually look forward to my appointments with them. From the second you walk in to the second you leave, the team here makes you feel so comfortable and at ease. They offer blankets, headphones with an iPod that has a massive collection of music, as well as nitrox gas (laughing gas, I think it's called nitrox?) They also provide heated neck warmers. It really is such a nice experience and everyone is so friendly. I never have to wait for a long time. This was my first experience doing sedation dentistry and it was surprisingly relaxing, no discomfort at all and serious spa vibes. Music, heated pillow, blankets, nitrous. I have been going to Dr. Sokoloff & his team for over 20 years now and there is no one else I would ever trust with my teeth! I have referred many of my friends and family to Dr. Sokoloff and have only gotten rave reviews from them. I religiously visit 4 times a year for a cleaning, which is almost a Zen experience - complete with blanket, warmed head rest pillow, personal IPod with hundreds of selections and of course, laughing gas. I am now completely convinced that a quarterly professional teeth cleaning is an important key to good health and helps avert colds & flu. Over the years, I've also had more serious work done such as cavities, crowns, root canal, whitening etc. and not only is everything professionally done, but patient comfort is their #1 priority. Dr. S. is the best when it comes to giving Novocain shots that are traditionally quite uncomfortable. What's more, if you have a problem or an emergency, they'll change their calendar just to accommodate you. The entire staff are wonderful and friendly. They truly care about their patients, and it shows! My only complaint is that they won't give me a tank of laughing gas to take home...oh well, I guess I'll have to settle for another glass of wine. Even after having been a loyal patient for over 8 years. This has been very disappointing and horrible experience. I began a large term treatment with Dr. Sokoloff early this year. Yes, the staff and facilities are amazing, yet the real luxury would be not only the surroundings but to be well treated by your dentist. When I came in today to assess a problem regarding a prosthetic apparatus he made for me that was not fitting properly, Dr. Sokoloff' reaction was the least expected: careless, sarcastic, not empathetic to my functional and aesthetic concerns, and instead of being open and willing to solve the problem, he turned out to be dry, mean, and burlesque. I will not return to his practice, as for me, the Dr. -patient relationship is the most important thing to cultivate and obviously his 35 years of experience have not yet taught him this... I will go with my teeth and my money somewhere else!!! SEQUEL: After the holidays, I called to check that the offer of the Dr. to refund my money for the now ruined by the doctor, already miss-fitting apparatus, the secretary said that the dr. considered our relation finished, due to me writing this review and that he should not refund me for the apparatus. Also, that I should have left (the apparatus) there if I wanted a refund -which he never mentioned, BTW- when he actually had said not once, but twice, that I could take it and use it as it was, and that he would refund it. He also said, by the way, that he was not "God" and he made fun of me for wanting a prosthetic apparatus for a molar!!. I had a witness, his assistant, and she knows what the Dr. said. It is truly sad that he didn´t react positively and empatheticly to my concerns, and quoting as he ironically said to me: "what did you pay for this? $150, that´s nothing...well..." I tell him, What are those $150 for you? and yet he wont refund me for an apparatus that 1. was badly done to begin with (which he never recognized) and 2.He further ruined it by over filing it. And finally, Dr. Sokoloff: you never even mentioned to the argument that you are replying here in YELP. The loss is for you. For me, it is actually quite positive to have learned the nature of your practice before I had performed further treatments in your office. read more
