It is in first line to the beach, and right next to the mesmerizing sand dunes of Maspalomas. So you waste no time getting to the beach and back, and you can either get a beautiful spot right under the dunes, or even just rest in the stunning hotel palm gardens and then quickly run from them to the sea and back. The promenade with more nightlife is a short walk away. All inclusive: The level of the cuisine was consistently very high for every meal during the day. The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets were fantastically rich, so you could always try something new without them getting repetitive. Most importantly, the food was always prepared to a high standard. The cuisine is a good mixture of Western and Mediterranean style cuisine, with plenty of good cuts of meat, seafood and vegetarian options available. Twice a week there is a theme night for dinner - we particularly enjoyed the one focusing solely on Canarian cuisine. Aside from the main meal times (which stretch for quite long, so you're not harshly restricted by them: breakfast 8-10.30, lunch 10-15.30, dinner either at 18:30 or 20:3024/7), there is always a variety of snacks/fruit etc available, so you could eat 24/7 if you wanted to. All inclusive includes both soft and hard alcohol and cocktails, and unlike some places, they are not skimpy on basic needs like water either, so you can just stock your room fridge with big bottles to take to the beach. Stunning premises: Riu Oasis - the hotel lives up to its name. It's a massive oasis of palm trees and beautifully sculpted palm gardens which give your entire holiday a very relaxing feel. You never have to be squeezed among a mass of tourists stuck together like sardines. The sunbeds and parasols and pleasantly scattered all around the gardens, so you simply find a tree you like to rest under, and enjoy your privacy and the feeling of intimacy. Rooms: are nice and comfy, with an included fridge, safety locker, and massive wardrobe space. It's especially nice to have a room facing the garden on the ground floor - there you have a front porch your own parasol and sunbeds right in front of your door to lounge on. Amenities: There is a small outdoor gym (a few cardio machines, couple of benches, lat pulldown machine, basic set of dumbbells up to 10 kg), an outdoor Jacuzzi, an indoor Jacuzzi and a sauna. Massages and hairdressing are available for extra charge. The pool is very nice for actual lap swimming - it doesn't have too much of an odd shape as it's popular these days, so you can keep track. You can get beach towels every day, and on the day when you check out, you will get spare towels and a spare room for half an hour if you need a later shower. There are two bars in the gardens, a playground for children, and many indoors entertainment areas. All staff is always very polite and helpful, and there's always someone speaking excellent English at least at the reception. Entertainment: the evening program was quite nice - nothing too tacky, usually just some pleasant singers. Definitely bearable for some starter drinks if you then want to head out ofr more fun into town. There seemed to be quite a lot of daily entertainment for children (but tucked away in a different part of gardens, so if that's what you worry about - you can easily spend a holiday here without running into many). Cons: there are not many, but two minor points - wifi in room is for extra charge, the free one in the lobby is quite slow. And on some evenings, you can book an a la carte dinner at the separate smaller international fusion restaurant instead of the buffet. While it's advertised as very high dining, I'd say that it wasn't of much higher quality than the buffet meals (which are nonetheless great) - it was just more beautifully arranged. So I'd just go there if I wanted the more intimate atmosphere, but otherwise preferred the main area.

What makes this worse is that on a previous day the same staff member admitted she knew exactly which shoes they were -- yet now she denies any knowledge of them. This raises serious concerns about honesty and security. I trusted the hotel with my personal belongings and they have gone missing with no explanation or accountability. Guests deserve to feel confident that their property is safe in the care of staff, but sadly that has not been the case here. I am currently still waiting on the camera footage from the hotel my property went missing 3 days ago !

The food was very tasty and you got the chef cooking different things for you every night. The hotel is very large with a huge swimming pool, tennis courts, playpark for kids, paddling pool. Inside the hotel downstairs there is a wellness centre which is out of this world with water beds, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, swimming pool, salt water pool and there is a gym also. Then also downstairs there is a games room with free internet, bowling alley, pool and snooker tables and play stations, and outside the mini golf. On the rooftop there are loungers and a rooftop jacuzzi and a seperate area for nudists. The drinks at the bar on the all inclusive deal are local and international drinks and there is a huge selection. I absolutely adored this hotel and would highly recommend this to everybody and would definitely go back there.

I can't possibly explain all they have to offer, but I would encourage anyone to visit their website for a more thorough list. If you are looking for a special place to take that special someone, this is it! Here are some of the highlights from our stay: Getting here is super easy to do, from private car, taxi, or bus. We arrived on the island and took the 343 bus from the airport (TFN). The bus was super clean and reasonably priced (less than 10€ for two!). When we arrived, check-in was easy. They gave us fresh juice and were given a quick tour of the main dining areas and spa. Then, they showed us to our room and gave us a rundown of how things operated (light switches, mini-bar, TV, safe). Our room was fully stocked with everything imaginable. They even had slippers and oversized robes for guests to use for the spa. The grounds are a work of art (see pictures). Peaceful walkways, pools, fountains, flowers, wild birds and butterflies abound. This seems like an oasis within the busy tourist area of the Puerto de la Cruz. There is a poolside restaurant with waiters to tend to your every need. For restaurants, they have three main offerings: The Oriental is their top dining selection, offering exquisite Thai cuisine (closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays). Other dinner options include La Parrilla as their Spanish restaurant and Il Pappagallo for traditional Italian fare. For breakfast and lunch, their main floor restaurant and poolside area offer an incredible buffet and special order items. My wife and I were only disappointed that we weren't staying more days! The spa is what truly makes this hotel a premier destination. There are special pools, exercise rooms, yoga and Thai chi rooms, saunas (many types - Turkish, Japanese), jacuzzi tubs, an ice room, water beds, and other items to help one relax and rejuvenate. My wife and I did the 'Experience for two' in their Private Dragon spa bath. This was a special treat for two and a half hours, and felt great after climbing up/down Gibraltar and wandering Sevilla with bags of stuff. There are sports courts here as well, but since I'm not a sports guy, I'll leave that to others to review. The staff here are great, and they will help you book reservations at local restaurants in advance if you want to venture out. They also have a courtesy bus that takes guests up/down the hillside regularly throughout the day, so you don't have to hike up and down from the hotel. If the bus doesn't work, they always have taxis standing by to wisk you away to wherever you want to go. I would highly recommend Hotel Botanico for anyone who wants to get away from the routine and spoil themselves for awhile.

A big comfortable king sized bed, fridge, and TV with many Spanish and English channels, including CNN International and BBC World News. There's a good sized marble bathroom with a double sink, and a patio with table and chairs. The building colors here, white and peach, are very fresh looking. The pool and whirlpool also look and feel amazing. The location is right behind the local beach, where you can buy food and drinks, and easily head back to the hotel to eat or change. It's also located on the Gold Mile were there are many bars, restaurants, and shops just a few steps away. You can also use all the features of the Mediterranean Palace next door which has more families, loud party music, and young adults. If you prefer a quieter, couple-friendly resort, this place will be more suited to you. They have a Spa in the Cleopatra. We used the salt water pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and even had a couples massage. So relaxing! Further, the buffet breakfast here (included without extra charge) is outstanding. Omelette station, custom sliced cold cuts, breads, pastries, fruits, Lindt chocolates, self-serve Cava, and much more. We had a late flight out to Poland on our checkout day and Eva and Julia happily extended our checkout time to accommodate. What a great week here, it's a highly recommended resort!

The staff were very kind and spoke a bit of English. For the week pass, they put me on a list and everyday I came in, just gave my name, they gave me a towel, and let me in. The gym has everything you need - including two Olympic lifting pads, and hefty squat racks on each pad. They also have an enclosed studio perfect for yoga , and a second enclosed boxing studio. The change rooms are great too. They also have a sauna in the men's (and presumably women's too).

The hotel is huge with numerous restaraunts and swimming pools. The food is great and there are plenty of it and despite it being a buffet you never really have to queue as there are is so much to choose from spread out over a massive beautiful dining room. Words cannot describe the look of the hotel and I highly recommend you find their website and check it out. The facilities, location, food and staff are fantastic and we will definately be returning (no I don't work there or own it - I wish!).
