They've changed! I don't know if it's new owners, new managers, or just "they figured it out", but....they came up in a big way! I look at the menu now and there's so so so many things that look good one of those "can't decide" places. Nothing has been anything but exceptional the last 3 times I've been there. My kids even got a kick out of "make your own s'mores". The only thing I can complain about is the apps cost. They're upfront about it so that's not even a complaint....just I wish they weren't as much as they are but that's not going to keep me from getting them. (Sounds dangerous doesn't it? It is!) None of my family are alcohol drinkers so....I can't speak for the bar (but last time I was with a larger party I did buy someone a drink and it was excellent service there too. So I'll go with the assumption that they stayed exceptional there as well). At this point....you must check it out. read more

Had Melanie for a server. I was not checked on once, tried to flag her down 5 times but apparently she refuses to even look at her tables, and didn't get a single drink refill. The filet was AWESOME! I highly recommend a steak here. I got it with mushrooms and blue cheese on it. Baked potato came with pre packaged sour cream but a good size. The shaved Brussels sprouts were severely undersized. I ask for some more when my plate arrived, and of course Melanie charged me for them. Lastly the sprouts were almost inedible due how much salt they put in them.... There is salt on the table there is no reason for it... I'd say the place is hit or miss! Ask who will be your server!!! read more

Stopped at this restaurant today while visiting Poe Valley. The food was excellent. The chef was great, asking how my husband exactly wanted his burger cooked to the greatest detail. It was awesome! Well I guess if you're coming here then you probably are like me and there are no other decent places within the vicinity- this was just ok. I don't have a picture of it but definitely do not order the crab cake- dry and small. I ordered the salmon and it was, as you can see- underwhelming and pain- vegetables overcooked and soaked with butter/oil - however- my drink was AMAZING! Highly recommend the chocolate raspberry brownie martini. We also spotted a nearby table ordering a soft pretzel and it was HUGE and looked delicious and we could tell (too late this visit) but going forward that seemed to be the thing to order. So when I write a review I base it on several things; service, quality of food, temperature of food, bang for your buck and location. Coras is located in Burnham, a police you wouldnt randomly stop unless your from the area or looking for somewhere nice close to 322 on your way to the PSU game. I came here because I'm originally from the area and my dad suggested we give it a spin. We came at 6:00 pm on a Saturday and were promptly seated. The hostess was pleasant and swift. Our server, Brittany, was excellent, friendly, and attentive even though it was fairly busy. We ordered bacon wrapped scallops and stuffed mushrooms. The scallops were perfectly cooked. I can't speak too much for the mushrooms since I don't like mushrooms and only tried one bite. The sauce that came with the mushrooms was almost a creamy, zingy beef base/meat base sauce...very tasty. I got the special of trout with pecan butter and I really liked it. For Burnham, this is a 4 star place. The location is a nice one. It's fairly to easy to find with just about a mile from 322. Come here if your driving through and would like a sit down spot. read more

This is a follow-up review after trying Coras for a second time. This time, I had the battered haddock, brussel sprouts, and sweet potato fries. It was delicious! My husband had the chef salad, and it was not what we were expecting. Very little meat, a few trips of sliced ham lunch meat. The haddock was plenty to eat. I think this place has some great dishes on their menu, you just need to find them. read more

My husband got the Wednesday Steak & Shrimp special and added mushrooms for an additional charge, he did not receive the mushrooms. He asked for his steak medium rare and it was slightly overcooked. The A1 sauce he requested for his steak was never received, I had to take one from another table when it cleared. I got the Crab stuffed Flounder with broccoli salad and sweet potato fries .. my meal was delicious. The broccoli salad is the best in Mifflin County. The waitress did not have much of a personality but did check on us frequently. The ambiance of the restaurant is clean and peaceful. The staff overall seem friendly! read more

Flew in to take our management team out for a nice dinner. Appetizers were great, than everything fell flat .there were 12 in our party only 1 waitress for our entire area, waited for 2 hours before our food started to show up then that was spread out over the next 15 minutes. The people that got there food first were completely done eating before the last ones showed up and mine never did make it. An apology backed with we're not gonna charge you for you're plate is what they felt was sufficient for the event and the bill was 390.00 They said this is not how they do business. read more

Food was very good here. This was the first time we stopped here. We will for sure be back again. I had the Reuben stuffed 1/2lb burger which was very good. My wife had the fish Tacos and they were very good also. We order an appetizer of the tuna with wasabi and it was fantastic. Stopped here for lunch on our way back from Slippery Rock. Our server was charming and the service was excellent. The presentation and flavor of our food rivaled many high end restaurants. Had a bad experience here. Waited about an hour for our food after ordering. Waitress told us that they "lost" our ticket & the manager would be coming to speak with us. Manager basically blew us off, "ya we lost your ticket, sorry" then walked off. Won't be coming back. Burger was pretty good. read more

We stopped by Cora's at lunchtime on Saturday and were very disappointed mainly with the service/kitchen management. We ordered a cheeseburger and fries, nothing hard. After about 30 minutes the waitress stopped by our table and said that there was a large party upstairs and they were finishing their orders and then ours will be out shortly. I looked around the first floor, where we were seated, and no tables were receiving food. So basically the entire first floor of the restaurant was sitting and waiting of their orders while the upstairs meals were prepared. Usually a restaurant doesn't shut down preparing meals for an entire restaurant over one large group. If this is the management's operating style, then customers should be told there is going to be a very long wait upfront. After 45 minutes of waiting when the waitress came back to say our order (cheeseburger & fries) would be out soon, we asked it to be packed"to go" since we were tired of sitting in the restaurant. Finally at 50 minutes our burger and fries arrived, but upon checking the bill, it was rung up as a different kind of burger than I ordered. Opening the container, it was quite obvious that the burger prepared was not the simple cheeseburger we ordered. So after waiting almost an hour we received the wrong order! At this point we paid for our drinks and left the restaurant without any food. Yes, the wrong order was the waitress' fault, but the time it took to receive a simple sandwich order is management (which never stopped by the table to apologize for the wait either). While the food may be good (from past visits), management issues like this will ruin the return customer base that restaurants need to stay in business. read more

Meh. I'm actually kind of surprised they're still in business. The menu looks good but the execution never follows. The latest example was the beer cheese dip. What the heck? It looked unlike any cheese dip I've ever seen. Thick and grainy, as though they hadn't served any in weeks and scraped it off the inside of the microwave. Service? Well, it's Mifflin County so don't expect much. This time the waitress came back 10 minutes after taking my drink order to ask again what I ordered. Ate there last Saturday 11.18.23. Was by far one of the worst places I ever ate. There were 5 of us and every meal was awful. My husband and I had chicken parm with spaghetti with Tom basil sauce and a salad. Salad was good. Spaghetti was cold not even Luke warm, chicken was very small. My son in law had steak ordered well done and it was pink inside. My daughter had chicken parm, mashed potato, and brussel sprouts. Chicken was very small, sprouts were cold, and mashed potatos never came. Granddaughter had salmon and was brought chicken, sent back and 30 minutes later got salmon with mashed potatos that were her mom's, squash and zucchini that were under the mashed potatos. Will not be back ever again. We also got there about 4, was told it was a shift change so had to wait. They kept taking other couples while we waited. Finally got seated and had the worst nite ever. Came here on a Saturday in the middle of the day after hiking the 1000 steps trail with my buddies. Our objective was to watch the soccer game, UEFA championships. It was the four of us and a nice elderly couple. The bartender was super friendly and accommodating and spent 5 minutes helping us look for the channel. Hooked us up with $1off yeunglings, after my buddy bought us a round of tequila shots. Great service. Bartender also recommended the wings and she was not wrong - On point, HUGE wings with buffalo sauce that had a nice kick to it. Anddd she made a damn good Moscow Mule. We were traveling to the area and just stopped by this location for dinner. The food was excellent and a very friendly atmosphere we really enjoyed this place. I had a stuffed sandwich and my wife had the beef and seafood kebab. The only negative were the chips that came with the sandwich which were a bit bitter I'm not sure what was going on here but other than that it was an excellent selection to stop by. read more

Been going here for over a year now and I'm not sure what's been going on but the food has been going downhill. Nothing is consistent. And I so want it to be because the place is nice and clean but on more than one occasion I found something in my food and it doesn't even get taken off or discounted off my bill even though I stopped eating it. My food was not hot on multiple occasions recently so I'm going to have to stop going. Pros-Good cold draft beers, they have a happy hour, Bar is clean, bathrooms are clean Cons-appetizers are overpriced (except wings-price average), food is usually different than as described on menu, inconsistent food, tried almost every appetizer and the chili cheese fries by far were the most disgusting thing ever. I wish I took a picture because it looked like someone threw up on the plate of otherwise delicious fries. WENDY's has better. Maybe I'll give them some time and read some reviews in six months and give them another chance. read more

Lasagna was made by someone who has never seen or tasted it. I believe they covered a layer of Ill-tasting ground beef with dry tomato chunks under a layer of lasagna noodles. Great service. Great food! It has a very nice and modern atmosphere in a lodge setting. Our family of four decided to have a combination lunch supper there today. We were seated almost immediately, then ignored for about twenty minutes. Eventually the hostess apologized and took our drink orders. Ten minutes later I am still waiting for my bottle beer. I had to go up to the bar to get my drink at which time was ignored again. Service was poor the rest of the night and we felt like the staff was staring and avoiding us. We were polite, quiet and still tipped 20%. The food was good not awesome and not very expensive. The hostess gave a very poor excuse about a miscommunication among the staff but the management never came out to ask anything. I have to say they didn't charge us for the 1 dessert. We did notice some other tables were waiting for drinks, condiments. I looked like the people in the bar and at the high tops were well taken care of, staff attentive quick service and turn around. I was visiting my brother at Penn State and stopped in for dinner. This was the worst food I have ever put into my mouth. Chili and the side pasta were drenched in oil. Our main meal of beef tips were dry and rubbery. Even the WAITRESS told us that almost all the plates go back to the kitchen without being touched. My brother ended up throwing up later that night because he felt so disgusting from this food. I know he left a review as well, but Cora's Creekside Tavern seems to take down all reviews that are honest about their sh*tty restaurant. How about you fix the food quality of this place instead of sitting on the internet deleting truthful comments. Very disgusting and super disappointing. Had reservations for 6 people at 6:30 on a Friday night. We walked in and the pace seemed to be steady. There wasn't anybody waiting to be seated when we walked in. We ordered appetizers and our meals. The appetizers were very good (Banana Pepers and seared tuna). After and hour and a half (8:15), we finally received our meals. I ordered the Salmon, mashed potatoes and asparagus. The salmon and potatoes were cold. The asparagus was the only warm thing on the plate. 5 out of 6 dinners were mostly cold or barely warm. The table of 4 beside us came in 20 minutes after us and was done eating before we received our dinner. This was a horrible experience. I would not recommend Cora's as a place to eat. We visited Cora's on two occasions while in the area visiting family. The first visit at the beginning of summer was uneventful. The food was fine. The service was okay, but I was not impressed. On this visit I would have given it 3.5 stars. However, during our recent visit, on a Thursday evening, I was disappointed with the service and the food. The restaurant was not busy and we did not have to wait for a table. The hostess was accommodating to our preference, which was a plus. When our waitress arrived to take our drink and appetizer order she sighed and wiped her brow as if she had just been in the back 40 plowing the land with two oxen. This was not a good indicator that we were going to receive decent service. Our drink order was slow to arrive. In fact, in the time it should have take our drinks to arrive, the waitress had to stop by and ask my husband what he wanted to drink again, which would indicate she hadn't even entered our order. The beer cheese dip was disgusting. The texture was off-putting, as if it had been sitting in the sun all day. Very. Very chunky. Then our food arrived. We eat with our eyes first, and unfortunately the plating of our meals was extremely underwhelming. My entire meal was cold. The mashed potatoes were ice cold. The crab stuffing in my fish was also cold, but my fish was undercooked. After returning the meal to be re-warmed it was at least edible. I think the next time we are in town, we will skip Cora's. read more

Beautiful atmosphere, great people, and excellent service. Best steak around, made just as I ordered, medium-rare. The craft cocktails are well put together and far superior to any you can get in the area. They know the classics. First time here, been there as Cedar House and Louvois (spelling?) before that. The new owners did major renovations, place really looks nice, the bar area especially. Great drink and beer menu. Looking forward to exploring the food menu. Had dinner there a couple nights ago. Service was slow and inattentive- seems like we we there for 15 mins before someone came to the table, later drinks empty, appetizer plates still on table when main courses came... Food was ok, didn't really like the Onion Pedals- too much batter, not enough onion. The scallops wrapped in bacon was good, hard to not make that one good! My wife and I both tried a pasta dish, she had shrimp and I had the crab. Sauce was good on both and we liked it. read more
